“I got Feng Cha’s milk tea for the first time today. From the first sip, I could feel myself being transported straight to my hometown of Taipei, Taiwan. The place was very clean and the service extremely quick. Jiayou, Feng Cha! Continue making your delicious bobas. 🫡“

“What a delightful place to stop and grab a delicious empanada or a boba drink. I just love the chicken adobo empanadas. The pastry is fresh, flaky, and crispy. The lightly spicy chicken and potato filling is tender and savory. So good. Be sure and try the house-made sweet chili sauce as well. For dessert, try the mango cheese cake empanada. It is tangy, fruity, rich with cream cheese and topped with a sugar-glazed crust. The prices are very affordable too!“

“We stopped by this little boba tea café looking for something new. It’s a small spot with a hint of coziness, but not really our vibe.
The tea though… wow. We first got the smashed pineapple & passion fruit green tea with tapioca boba - that’s the kind of drink you come back for again and again. Super tasty! 25% sweetness was perfect - definitely don’t go higher - and with minimal ice, it was pure joy.
We actually came back an hour later to try the matcha with mango. For matcha lovers, it’s a real find. The mango tasted like perfectly ripe yellow mango, and since there’s a lot of matcha, 50% sweetness works better to balance the bitterness.
Overall, a great spot to grab a drink before a walk around Chinatown.“
“It's really nice in there. You occasionally get a loud & noisy large group of students in there but it's right next to the UC Berkeley campus so that's their majority of the patrons. Parking is difficult in the area, it's located at the corner of two one-way intersections.“

“i’ve come here a few times already and the drink quality is excellent: flavorful and not overly sweet. i’m very picky about the texture and chew of the boba and cha thai tea def gets it right. had their mango sticky rice too, v good as well. cant wait to try their vanilla ube toast and other beverages. highly recommend!“

“Big fan of the signature milk tea that has all of the toppings like red bean and jelly. Great texture, great tea flavor and not too sweet like some other milk teas I’ve had, even at regular sugar levels. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Chinatown- one of the better SF milk tea shops for sure“

“I’m a regular and I love the environment and drinks at Teahut so definitely five stars!!! Highly recommended:))
But dear staff if you’re reading this please be careful with your fire when making the crème brûlée milk tea cause when i got it last time the top of the plastic cup got burnt and the lid did not hold well. I almost spilled the drink all over. But the drink itself was surely good!“

“Golden Tea Shop is so so good! I have recommended this place to my family and friends and they always want to come back! It may not be the fanciest boba shop, but it is truly an underrated one.
I’ve tried several boba shops in the Bay Area and this one has really good teas and toppings that are more niche (peach gum, tea jelly, etc). My personal favorite is the peach gum milk tea with black tea. It is so creamy with a nice tea taste, and I love the toppings it comes with.
The price is great and the cup is a good size. Disclaimer: drinks take time to prepare bc it’s family owned so be
patient. Give it a try, it’s great!“

“I've been here for a long time and for whatever reason my original review is not here. Nonetheless this place is amazing. A diamond hidden in the rough, an oasis for those who need a boba fix. It's a local store filled with anime goodies and is a TCG haven for Magic, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh, and of course POKEMON! This is the place to be. There are different nights for specific TCG's and they have pokemon trade nights. I recommend joining the discord. Come by and enjoy a drink made by Em, or the guys talking about all the TCG's. The owners a nice guy to boot!“

“I visited this boba place, and it was really nice. The bubble tea was very good, and I loved that you can choose two syrup flavours, which is a great option. The popping bubbles were sweet and tasty, and I also liked that you can choose how much ice and sugar you want — less, medium, or more.
The only downside was the staff. The person taking the order spoke very quickly, so it was hard to understand, and the order wasn’t repeated at the end. It wasn’t a big issue, but it would have been nicer if the service was a bit clearer.“
“Small but cute place 😝 I got the taro milk tea which is the best one bc the others didn't hit😾 The prices are good and service is quick, the cashier was friendly and gave me a sample for this new snack I think. Its clean too 💯
I am coming back again🥳
(I do wish there were real kittens doe 😿)“

“it is small shop which touch screen kiosk to order near Oakland Chinatown. Practically you have to wait for the person in front of you finish their order before you get it. it might fit max 4 to 5 people. There are plenty option from the menu. You can choose sweet option.
The drink is pretty good. The price is reasonable.“

“I went there to treat myself during Jury Duty. This place was great. Lots of Boba options that looked good. The Vietnamese coffee was good. I got their 5 spices / shredded chicken Bahn Mi and devoured it. Atmosphere was tidy, nice staff, competent and speedy. Definitely a sold - can’t go wrong kind of place.“

“I came here this evening and ordered a bubble tea from the kiosk. The woman working was incredibly friendly, and they have a cute little store. But I ordered a black milk tea with 25% sugar and received an incredibly sweet brown sugar milk tea instead. It was way too sweet, but probably just an oversight.“
“I randomly walked in an hour before closing looking for something to warm me up. I had a surprisingly delicious mocha. One of the better mochas I’ve tried I’ve had around the bay. My recommendation is get the mocha with no whip and 30% sugar with the salt creamer, genuinely amazing. Staff was really down to earth aswell.“

“This is the best boba place in Berkeley. The lady working here is so nice and she even gave my friend a free drink for his birthday! If you ever pull up here make sure to get the grape sparkling or any of the Thai tea. Their sushi roll is also amazing. I swear you won’t be disappointed :)
P.S. this was the drink that my friend requested“

“We're so lucky to have so many great boba cafes here in San Francisco. And Black Sugar is one of them.
It's a small spot at the edge of the Tenderloin near Union Square. They have a few caffeine-free choices and I got their mango sago, which is a mango puree with grapefruit bits and coconut milk. Since it already had sago, I didn't add boba, which is good btw. Its has that qq bounce and is softly sweetened with brown sugar.
The mango was so refreshing! The coconut added a creamy texture and the grapefruit bits added a pop of tartness. The sago added another layer of texture that was both soft and chewy. I usually like to take my time with boba drinks, but this one was so good that I drank it pretty fast.
I usually order mine online for pick up. But service is pretty quick after ordering. Though I can imagine it's busier on weekends.
I've had several of their drinks, including their popular black sugar fresh milk, and they are all good. Definitely take a detour when you're in Union Square when the boba craving hits.“

“Stopped in at Christmas Eve as everything nearby was closed. Unfortunately I still had last minute shopping to do and got a caffeine headache.
The coffee was surprisingly really good. I definitely recommend this place. The two women who seemed to run it were incredibly kind.“

“I had no idea they have a MandRo Teahouse in Alameda but I'm glad it does. I normally go to the ones in Fremont and Milpitas so I know that people come here for Bingsoo (Korean shaved ice). Although it's using Korean name but I'm fairly certain the owner is actually Chinese. The shaved ice here is extremely fine and as a result super smooth and delicious. I prefer this over the coarse Hawaiian shaved ice.
My favorite is the matcha or original flavor but a lot of people seem to order the mango one.
This location seems to be much less crowded than the other places and has more seating as well. However parking can be a pain because of limited street parking and its location. You order through the kiosk and just wait for the number to be called.“

“A bit hot inside but it's ok. Got lumpia, sweet potato fries, pot sticker, thia tea boba, and milk tea boba with mom. Nice staff. It's great that there's pictures of some of the food and drinks on the windows because you get to see what they have before you come in. Even more pictures near the register. Menus without pictures are kind of boring.“

“I tried to get a sandwich here on a Sunday afternoon, and again on a Wednesday afternoon and it was closed both times. I’m not sure if this location is permanently closed…there’s no signage posted, nothing on their website, and neither location answers the phone. Bummer since their sandwiches were delish!“

“My favorite spot for Vietnamese iced coffee on the island! The Egg Coffee is so creamy and delicious, a real treat.
I only wish they could open earlier and take even more of my money 😭 I can't tell you how many times I've woken up excited to pick up coffee during the workweek and realized they don't open until 10 🥹 Pleaseee consider opening at 8 or 9am 😭“
“Sitting as a small window on the side of Nepalese Indian restaurant, this boba shop is quite good! I was impressed by the selection of pearls, jellies, and popping boba. There's also quite a few drink flavors and a few fried foods. I ordered passionfruit mango with mango jellies, lightly sweetened. It had the perfect amount of topping and was around 60% sweet. Large is the only size offered, and at $7 with one topping, the price is fair.
There is no onsite seating, but you're right next to the library and city hall with plenty of benches. Orders can take a few minutes since employees are shared with the adjacent restaurant.
Overall, I was quite impressed considering the unassuming presentation, and I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area.“

“This absolute hidden gem in the Mission has some of the best boba in the city! I tried the Taro Latte, and you can tell they use real taro chunks. It’s creamy, perfectly balanced, and doesn't taste like a sugar bomb. The Hong Kong Milk Tea is another standout with a deep, authentic tea flavor. But my favorite is the Mung Bean Latte for a sweet little protein boost.
Beyond the drinks, the Spam Musubi and Popcorn Chicken were fresh and hit the spot. Even though it’s a small counter-serve space, the vibe is super welcoming and the staff is incredibly friendly. Quick service, creative menu options, and consistently high quality. Definitely a new regular spot for me!“

“Best for their fruit teas (not milk teas) tho they run sweet. Some of my favs include Lychee bomb (which includes real lychee bits) and Ruby Passion (Guava, Passionfruit green tea with Aloe),
For non caffeinated options, I like their smoothies, such as peach passion
Also have great tater tots and decent popcorn chicken.“

Best experience ever – thanks to Angela!
I ordered an iced Thai green milk tea and an Ohachi strawberry tea — both were super refreshing and full of flavor, not too sweet, just perfect.
What really made the visit special was Angela. She was so friendly, kind, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. She helped me choose, made sure everything was just right, and honestly gave me the best customer service I’ve ever had at a bubble tea place. It felt like talking to a friend.“
“Delicious boba tea, and probably the best I've gotten while in San Francisco. They had so many different variations, bases, and flavors to choose from, so you were practically guaranteed exactly what you were looking for! This is also a women-owned and run establishment! So that's just another great reason you should go and support!“

“I’ve only had their smoothies and tasted the ice cream . It’s pretty good haven’t been disappointed . Thai tea ice cream is fire 🔥 . They do close early , earlier than their posted hours though sometimes a half hour early so best to arrive over an hour before they close . I haven’t tried their banh mi but they do seem pricey at nearly 18 dollars each!“

Except there have been a few occasions where the boba seemed like not done and had a tough texture which isn’t great

“Loved the mango boba with red beans ❤️So delicious and comforting, what’s more is that I paid the price of 1 for 2 with their special discount that day . Too bad there’s no branch here in the L.A. area .
Dietary restrictions: With the customized ordering, you can opt to reduce the sugar in your boba drink, I only had 50% of the amount of sugar for my calorie limit. So that’s really great and my boba tasted so yummy , my hubby had one too?“

“Supporting local business in Emeryville. Note that this place is on Christie opposite to FedEx, not inside the public market.
The noodles, while not the best pho in the bay area, they are decent. Both noodles they served came with delicious broth. Unlike many pho places, these didn't leave you with a dry mouth. Wish their beef can be softer and more tendered - that's the only (but critical) place to lose shine. You know - always room for improvement. Can't wait to come back and try their banh mi.“
