“The pho broth was so delicious. The chefs special and a number 2.
I may not be a pho expert however this pho was well worth the 40 min drive.
Service wasn’t bad, had a bit of a language barrier.
When we walked in we thought of turning around as the outside and inside are not appealing to the eyes. However the flavor makes up for it 10fold. Will surely be back“

“The best Vietnamese food in the Bay Area! Prices are excellent. Get the Number 5 to sample everything. I would come here at least one a week if I lived nearby! Order to go if you don’t want to sit in the tiny 10-person space. The food is worth it!“

“I cannot say enough good things about Tin Vietnamese. Their pho has literally been getting me through my pregnancy. It always arrives incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the pho gà is perfection every single time. Big, tender chunks of chicken breast, flavorful broth, and consistently fresh ingredients — they never miss.
I even order extra broth with ginger to sip in the mornings, and it’s the only time I don’t feel nauseous and get morning sickness with my pregnancy. That’s how comforting and high-quality it is. The chả giò is always fresh, crunchy, and delicious too!
My fiancé is now completely hooked as well (which is great because we order at least once a week!). This place has become a staple in our home, and they have never disappointed. Highly, highly recommend.“

“Really good grilled pork banh mis, loved all of the ingredients but wish the inside of the actual baguette were scooped out to make it easier to eat. A little expensive at ~$20 after tip and taxes but probably on par with other lunch spots in FiDi. Would try their vermicelli or rice plate next“

“To start, this is only a takeout place. No sitting area here, although I saw chairs hanging upside down. Went on a weekday around 1 and there were 5 people before me waiting for their orders. The service was very fast. The menu is small with one veggie/vegan option and 5-6 meat options. Similar options available for sandwiches, salads and bowls.
I ordered Teriyaki Tofu Vegan Banh Mi. This was the only option in any variety. Sandwich was good. Tofu was juicy but with hints of oilyness. Had mixed feelings while eating it. Veggies were cruncy inside but was missing some kind of sauce in it. Overall, a good sandwich and can be tried once.“

“We tried Mango and Mint in Alameda for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The portion size was amazing for the price huge and definitely worth it, especially I love veggies! I ordered the grilled lemongrass pork chop with rice, and it was flavorful. Few seating capacity but that is totally fine since it it kinda quick service set-up.
The Thai milk tea was just how I like it rich with tea flavor, not overly sweet. We also had the pineapple coconut smoothie, and you could really taste the mint and kale refreshing and fun!
Service was great & the staff was friendly, and the menu is simple, with plenty of drink options. Overall, it’s such a wonderful local find a true underrated spot in Alameda.
I just hope the serving sizes stay consistent because everything we ordered tasted great. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Came here with my husband and 2 dogs. They have a bunch of outside seating and ordering was super easy. We both got pho tai with added veggies and a shared order of the bbq chicken and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was incredibly tasty, pho was hot with lots of meat and veggies. The. spring rolls were also phenomenal.
The owners and staff were also super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be coming back for both the amazing food and friendly people who work here.“

“With prices going up, this is still a local staple at 6 something a sandwich. He packs my Bacon Bahn Mi with a good amount of meat! No cutting corners here :)
When I used to work in the area, I'd get their lunch plates they have wrapped up in the open fridge. Viet BBQ Chicken, Fried Egg Roll, and rice noodles are my go-to.
They also serve noodle soup, which a friend of mine way back said tasted like her mom's, very good; Chicken Pho.
Parking: If lot is filled there's always plenty of street parking“

“So good! Found this spot when I was in the Town and craving a banh mi. I ordered the combo and a bbq pork. Both did not disappoint. Tastes super fresh - meat, veggies and bread were on par with b mi’s in SJ. I hope they continue to make amazing food like this. As long as they do, I will be a frequent customer. The East Bay needs more delicious Viet spots like this.“

“Grabbed some hot pho on a rainy day. Also had their monthly special: spicy beef noodle soup and grilled pork/shrimp wrap rolls. Everything was delicious. They are very generous with meat portions and even the bean sprouts/thai basil were very fresh. 5%off if you pay cash. Will come back.“

“First time here based on recommendation from a friend.
Hu Tieu Kho was delicious! Reminds me of the savory dry wonton noodles except that there’s no wonton but there are quail eggs, fried pork skin, slices of pork, shrimp and pork giblets. Together with the beef soup, it hit the spot on a cold day.
Cha Gio was crispy, and the filling was tasty. Some places have fried spring rolls that are on the mushy end and that tends to be very oily. But not here.
Com Tam (broken rice) plate was yummy. The pork chop was tender and flavorful. The steam pork egg was excellent - many places serve this too but they tend to be dry. But it was juicy, tender and full of flavor here.
Only thing that we didn’t like here was their slice steak pho. It may be personal preference as the soup had a strong taste of a spice or herb that we are not used to and so it threw us off from the usual pho.
Will be back for more Hu Tieu Kho, Cha Gio and Com Tam.
Parking is tight and it’s the party Oakland where you have to be careful.“

“Very solid tofu banh mi (heavy on the veggies but i’d rather extra than not enough) and delicious shrimp summer rolls. I wish their peanut sauce was thicker as it was kind of giving peanut dressing versus sauce, but nonetheless still tasty.“

“I walked through the trenches of San Francisco at 9pm to the only open pho place in the area. I was greeted at the door by Phong and he sat me immediately. Phong was a very pleasant server and was so accommodating. He brought me over every garnish you could’ve imagined without me even asking. I ordered the beef combination pho and it was phenomenal! The best I’ve ever had, it truly hit the spot.“

“Wife got pho ga and it was some of the best tasting broth I’ve had in a long time (born and raised in Houston but moved away to a city with not great Viet food)
I got the pho bo dac biet kho which was also very tasty and unique! Only ever had pho ga kho but this was delicious!“

“There is a decent variety of choices for vegans/vegetarians. I often get their Vegetarian Chicken Rice Clay Pot (substitute yellow rice for white rice and oyster sauce for vegetarian sauce). I also enjoy their Stir Fried Tofu & Peanut Sauce over White Rice.“

“It was raining, so we randomly stopped by a nearby Vietnamese spot, and it ended up being a great surprise. The broth was super rich and flavorful. I ordered the spicy shrimp noodle dish, but it wasn’t the type of noodles I expected. When I asked about it, they were kind enough to change it for me—free of charge.
The service was really friendly, and the place felt like a cozy, old-school neighborhood restaurant. Great food, great service, and a very comforting experience. Would definitely come back.“

“Bru I gotta write one! This place is one of the great spots for pho! Youhearrrrmeeee?!
I won’t forget the young gentle man and how he was so soft spoken and kind.
It was all worth $14+!!! With big portion too.
I gotta TikTok n I’m tryna share spots that’s good in the TL or the city @unclaimedkid
You’ll see more other spots in my page.
I thought the place was small space but NOPE, I was wrong and their place is massive and spacious. I truly liked the setting. I wasn’t close to anyone to another table. Each table were spaced out perfectly. The vibe they gave me was comforting and friendly to vibe with friends.
I got the pho combo and thst shi was busssing!
Usually the beef balls won’t have that much taste but once I ate it I was wrong lol.
A must try n I’ll b back!!!!“

“OMG just go! Go for takeout. Go eat there and be patient. The food is outstanding. So many beautiful flavors. My favorites are the ginger chicken (sumptuous like stew, with rice), fried rice (totally surprised us how rich and delicious and tender it is), THE WINGS (BEST in bay), chicken salad (it's basically chicken, not a salad with some chicken). Everything we've tried is sooooooooooo good! Festive atmosphere fun crowd nice patio!“

“This is my go to spot after ballet class. Duck banh mi is the best. Their baguette (which makes or breaks the meal imo) is much nicer than other spots like Bun Mee.
It’s a grab and go spot, and you can sit outside if the weather is nice.
Note: their butter chicken is literally buttered chicken, not the South Asian curry dish.“

“Love a good banh mi that comes from inside a market deli. We came for a sandwich and wanted so much more. Lots of choices from the hot bar made us want to come back.
We got two banh mi’s on this visit and a couple spam musubis. So good.“

“Yummy Vietnamese eats in a casual environment- great for takeout! We had the fried rice and beef short rib, which were great. A lot of places make their fried rice too bland, but this was just right - with seared onion and chicken, little bits of egg, and green onion. Hit the spot!“

“Monster Pho is an absolute gem, both in terms of food + value, and community support; they've just announced that until SNAP benefits are fully restored, kids under 12 can get pho for free if you show them your SNAP card (and a discount for parents, but no purchase necessary for the kids' pho).
I could not be prouder or more grateful to have a business like this in our area. Get some delicious food and support their community efforts! I love their bahn mi, it's definitely one of the best values in the area, and I've never had to wait long for take out (can't speak to dine-in service but I would guess it's also fab).“

“Holy Basil is one of our absolute favorite places to get delivery from in the Bay Area. Our kids are addicted to the bao buns and garlic noodles. I'm obsessed with the tofu vermicelli. Nothing is cozier on a cold day than their Chili Lemongrass soup. Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day than their fresh rolls and ginger lemonade. We love Holy Basil food!“

Love picking up food and coffee to go there, everything is so good. The spring rolls, banh mi, PANDAN waffle, and of course our go to viet iced coffee. Their che is also a treat 😋
So glad we have this on Piedmont ave. Khanh and her team are the best 🫶“

“Very delicious, loved the pho it came with a perfect amount of garnishes, the place had these really nice sweet pickles and extra spicy sambal and Sriracha. The tea was not served in a tea cup which I thought was a bit funky lol. The pho flavor had just the right amount of complexity, not overly distinct on any particular spice, just the right blend. There was a nice amount of meat served with the regular size. The restaurant gets a lot of natural light and has friendly and quick service. I liked the overall dining experience and was pretty happy with the food.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by how great Nana Viet Kitchen is. The place is very clean, organized, and has a welcoming vibe as soon as you walk in. I ordered the Bún Chả Hà Nội, and it was absolutely delicious! I’ve tried many Vietnamese dishes before, but this one really stood out. It’s full of flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and so satisfying that it left me craving more. I’ll definitely be coming back soon just to order it again. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic, real, and flavorful Vietnamese food!“

“There are two Pho King restaurants within a few blocks of each other and of them, I was pleasantly surprised at just how different their offerings were. Here at the one near Clinton Park, I tried their Pho Dac Biet and BBH. The broth for the pho was light and well-complimented once fully garnished. I found that the further into my bowl I worked, the more complex the flavors became. It has a nice mouth feel with plenty of fatty oils sitting atop the bowl. Very delicious. BBH was really authentic as well, with pork trotter, blood cubes... these items often get missed but are important elements of the dish! Happy they were included here. The portions were generous, and I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, seemed pretty neighborhood driven and the service was friendly. Definitely will be back.“

“This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area. Where else can you get authentic Bun Bo Hue and Mi Quang, except maybe San Jose and SF, and they give you a ton of veggies, unlike most restaurants. Plus you always get a grissly bone with your Bun Bo Hue, and pork blood, otherwise it wouldn't be authentic! If you like vietnamese food, you gotta come here. Trust me, I grew up eating vietnamese food and have been to Vietnam, including Da Nang, where my wife was born, and it doesn't get much better than this. 5 stars“

“After attending Saturday Mass with a friend, we decided to join a couple of ladies that go to Rang Dong's often. It was only a block away from Central Avenue and Webster. The vegetables were fresh and the soup broth was great, however the chicken was over cooked. I was in love with the fresh vegetables. I would go again to try something different next time.“

“I ordered here last week for my whole family. They made their meat so soft compared to other restaurants. Also, they have excellent customers service. They all are very nice and friendly. “#3 - Banh Cuon Thit Nuong (warm rice rolls with grilled lemongrass pork and mint), a true crowd pleaser; fried shallots topping an added savory plus.
#29 - Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), built off a solid pho broth, but could have benefitted from more lemongrass, citrus, sweet.
On a recent morning visit, #21 - Pho Dac Biet (standard combination beef pho) unfortunately came lukewarm with over-cooked noodles.
Overall, solid Vietnamese in the TL worth a visit; I’m hoping the disappointing experience with morning pho was only a fluke and not the standard.“
“Had a great lunch with 2 old friends and will definitely return. We sat in a booth at the back and had a great meal and conversation together. We tried several small plates, famous garlic noodles and a couple of desserts. Fun to sample so many great dishes and the sauces were well paired.“

“One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! Great food, great service. Totally clean and good place to eat, not really a place for "atmosphere" but you wouldn't expect it to be. Get the combo rice plate with the pork hop and shrimp cake!“

“This place is absolutely phenomenal! I got the chicken pho, which had a marinated chicken option. Soup broth was very tasty. My husband got the banh mi combo, which comes with a broth soup and an imperial roll. They also have a nice juicer and makes refreshing fruit/veggie juices to round the meal out. I got the Refresher juice which has cucumber, Apple, mint. Service was great too! A lot of natural light in the restaurant. Good vibes.“

“Supporting local business in Emeryville. Note that this place is on Christie opposite to FedEx, not inside the public market.
The noodles, while not the best pho in the bay area, they are decent. Both noodles they served came with delicious broth. Unlike many pho places, these didn't leave you with a dry mouth. Wish their beef can be softer and more tendered - that's the only (but critical) place to lose shine. You know - always room for improvement. Can't wait to come back and try their banh mi.“
