“This is my favorite place for breakfast and brunch in Downtown Santa Cruz. The bread is made fresh in-house every day, and you can really taste the difference. Their eggs are local and super fresh, which makes everything feel more homemade.

The chicken is cooked in a style that reminds me of Taiwanese fried chicken cutlets. It’s crispy and full of flavor. I always get the mushroom scramble. It’s my favorite dish. The curry rice is also really good.

The drinks are tasty and not too sweet. I always order the fresh squeezed orange juice. The space is cute, the colors are warm, and the staff is friendly.

If you’re visiting Santa Cruz, definitely come here for breakfast before heading to the beach.“

“Just happened on this place by doing map search for restaurants while in Watsonville. It was magical! Beautiful buildings & gardens. We are on the heated patio & just loved it. Excellent food: ribeye, & steak & lobster. Delish wedge salad too. Took the dessert home & enjoyed that too; the accompanying ice cream was the best. Very lovely experience.“

“Had a lovely tasting experience on a rainy day with the old wood stove going. The server, Leah I believe, was super helpful and great to talk with. I ended up taking home a couple of the most unique wines I've ever had! You must try the pinot noir and the white Pinot noir, but all the wines I tried were delicious. Also, best chardonnay for a someone who doesn't consider themself a chardonnay fan 😮“

“Really solid pizza. It was overall a great vibe, with a nice outdoor area. I had heard a lot of great things about Buzzo's before finally getting an opportunity to eat here, so was really hopeful. Definitely see why people like it! The crust is damn near perfect, and the arancini was wonderful.

The better pizza was definitely the margherita. I had heard a lot about the potato pizza, but to me it just didn't really seem to work; there were so many ingredients and it just didn't meld well to me.

Neither pizza had the marbling on the cheese I was hoping for, but definitely overall a really solid experience! Would come back for sure!“

“Been my go-to restaurant in Santa Cruz for years and the food and service is always great! My favorite is the refreshing Acai bowl and the la Madeira ( beef with mushrooms cooked in a creamy Madeira wine sauce).

Parking: Their private lot is cramped and always full. It's hard to get in and out of so it's easier to park in the residential area and walk there.“

“Loved this place. We shared vegetable samosas, chicken korma, chicken Tikka masala and palak paneer. The palak paneer was soo fresh and delicious, you can tell they use fresh local spinach not frozen. The samosas came with the typical mint and tamarind sauces as well as a delicious mango sauce.“

“As someone who loves food and flavors I have not found Santa Cruz to be a place with exceptional food options. Most are mediocre at best. However, Chloe’s is definitely an outlier. Their Thai Chili Dumplings are packed with flavor. Once I had their hot and sour soup, I cannot eat hot and sour soup anywhere else because nothing compares. I literally searched for hot and sour soup in San Jose and when I finally found a place it didn’t even come close.

Compared to Santa Cruz Diner where the burgers are $20 PLUS, in addition to the "extra service charge". Employees at Cafe Cruz are always happy and seem to enjoy their jobs. Server Kimber was amazing - describing the food choices, Making suggestions based on our questions and paced the selections perfectly. She kept her professionalism even as one table was a bit obnoxious. A small space, indoors can be a little stuffy and loud. Four of us ate family style and the dishes were fabulous from the local oysters, fried green tomatoes, spring pea salad, halibut and the special, chicken salad… very very good!“
