When we went it was crowded and took a while to receive food. To me this is a good thing, because they took their time to prepare good food. Also parking was somewhat hard to find in its industrial neighborhood. Plan accordingly!“

“Do you love going to Flavortown? How about dreaming with your eyes open? Then try these birria tacos. The first time I had it was from leftovers that my daughter brought home for lunch. Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. I know it seems like I’m exaggerating, but it’s really that good! My only wish is that they had seating nearby & a second location closer to Oakley.“

“My son and I YELPED for Mexican food.Good Mexican Food, and decided to give this place a try. I had the Spicy Shrimp Plate, and my son had the Steak and Spicy Prawns. They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out).The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. The Iceberg lettuce and sliced radish was cold, fresh and crispy— Served with a dollop of sour cream, avocado sauce; a slice of tomato and sprinkle of Mexican cheese top the salad - it did a nice job to balance the heat of the main course. Everything was well executed. The overall indoor atmosphere is very clean, simple and no frills. Love their neon menu signage. And, their prices are reasonable. Thank you for the delicious meal. The service was fantastic, Jorge was so warm and lovely, and the food was really flavorful and delicious. I had the shrimp tacos that were spicy and full of flavor and had three jumbo shrimp in each taco. The tortillas were also clearly a labor of love. Wherever I travel I research yelp and Google reviews and this time it was spot on. Great recommendation and we will definitely go back when we visit Bay Area again.“

The staff is hardworking, are friendly to each other, they are all ambitious and attentive to their work. The space has so many tables and is good place for families, couples and BFFs, kids after school to hangout. Bar area also available.

Wish they had pico de gallo though. We ordered an al pastor super burrito $15.29. Huge burrito. I eat a lot of burritos and this one surprised me with it's size lol. I asked for less rice and sour cream and they accommodated. Well balanced burrito. Al pastor was crispy and flavorful. Best al pastor I've had in years and best super burrito I've had so far in San Mateo and Burlingame area. Staff are really nice. Clean, medium sized restaurant. I would go back. Only wish they had lengua and cabeza meats“
