“Such a great place! I've been going since I was 8 with my dad and the food and atmosphere is always great. A little pricey, but so is everything in the area. I recommend the nachos, the cheese and bean burrito, and the enchiladas. I don't recommend the horchata, as it's way too sweet“

“This is the best El Grullense so far to me. The menu is good and has more variety, and good selections for vegetarians also. The service is friendly and even though it's small the space outside is very nice and comfortable to eat in.
Vegetarian options: Ask for grilled vegetables instead of meat or to any veg item.“

“Taco food truck.
They were friendly in their treatment and explained our questions about the menu. It is very economical and the price quantity is great!
We made a combo of tacos and a churro. Both the al pastor tacos and the chicken ones... they are all delicious.
The only bad thing is that there is nowhere nearby to take them, although they have a couple of chairs to wait for your order.
I recommend it!
Parking: There is something super in front and people park to order and pick up.“

“first time trying this cute little spot, only ordered tacos and would definitely come back.
- tongue ( tender and soft, not too gamey)
- shrimp ( my favourite, ordered 3)
- al pastor ( also got 3, delicious)
- carnitas
- asada
You would not regret ordering them as “taco especial” (guac, sour cream, and cheese) if you can.
I love their chips & their self serve sauce corner.“

“I have passed this place many times on pre planned dinners, but this time we stopped. We are from out of the area and I have to say, this food was amazing and authentic. I had el pastor and asada tacos and was amazed. So happy we went back the next morning for breakfast burritos and I was not disappointed. A must visit if you are in the area“

“Discovered the LITTLE GREEN HOUSE on a drive out exploring the neighborhoods and highways between East Palo Alto and Half Moon Bay… Walking onto this patio and into the house you could feel see and smell that a lot of care gratitude respect and life have and are being cooked up here! I instantly felt at home and at the same time I felt I was on a vacation…the aromas of our food being prepared the genuinely friendly staff and home style delicious meals! Thank you! We can’t wait to come back to your neighborhood!
Parking: You can’t miss the brightly painted house/ Taqueria on the corner with in the neighborhood. Plenty of street parking, felt safe area to walk about and stretch before eating. As well as they have a nice size parking lot for the Taqueria itself and open spaces with just a few quick steps to the entrance and patio
Kid-friendliness: Great place to sit outside enclosed space family style atmosphere“

“Still the best kept secret in San Mateo. I’m moving tomorrow and this food is what I’m going to miss the most. The portions are generous, the price is affordable, the service can’t be beat. Cash only. Small parking lot. Family owned and operated. The carne asada is delicious! Actually I haven’t had a bad meal here. Take away is available. You won't be disappointed . Skip the la cumbre and pancho villa. Come get the best!“

“Do you love going to Flavortown? How about dreaming with your eyes open? Then try these birria tacos. The first time I had it was from leftovers that my daughter brought home for lunch. Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. I know it seems like I’m exaggerating, but it’s really that good! My only wish is that they had seating nearby & a second location closer to Oakley.“

“Came for the camarones a la diabla (“Devil’s Shrimp”), which they don’t have on the menu but are happy to make it for you. I actually enjoy theirs more than El Farolito! Also HIGHLY recommend their pastor tacos. Their salsa is top-notch, which I am very picky about. So lucky I live two minutes away!
Parking: Park behind if you can’t find on street.“

“I like this place for the food, it is very delicious, prepared with hygiene and good quality products, the atmosphere is familiar, the service is very pleasant and respectful, they don't make you wait haggardly. In general I like it a lot. It just doesn't have its own parking, you have to look for space on the streets. But it is worth going to eat at this place.“

“Everything here is good but I have to say the Huevos Ranchero and the birria tacos are the best on planet earth. The handmade tortillas are absolutely delicious. The young lady who works at the front is so kind and has a warm welcoming personality. I live in Sunnyvale but I try and eat here any time I'm in the area.“

“This is the best Bay Area taco I've ever had. Recently my hobby is a taco tour in Bay area.
I like that they give you a slice of cucumber for every taco. Ah, the tacos here are super hot temperature that even in the summer, steam rises from the asada, so I recommend eating them as soon as you receive them.
Tripa, Cochinita Pibil and Asada good.“

“My son and I YELPED for Mexican food.Good Mexican Food, and decided to give this place a try. I had the Spicy Shrimp Plate, and my son had the Steak and Spicy Prawns. They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out). The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. The Iceberg lettuce and sliced radish was cold, fresh and crispy— Served with a dollop of sour cream, avocado sauce; a slice of tomato and sprinkle of Mexican cheese top the salad - it did a nice job to balance the heat of the main course. Everything was well executed. The overall indoor atmosphere is very clean, simple and no frills. Love their neon menu signage. And, their prices are reasonable. Thank you for the delicious meal. We will be back.“

“Been going to Charlie's for a while. They're a good Mexican restaurant and represent the Bay well, in regards to quality inexpensive food.
Vegetarian options: If you can't do a bean and 'cheese' burrito try their veggie, or bean and rice burrito.“

“I loved Los Moreno restaurant, their food is very delicious. On different occasions I had their enchiladas, chilaquiles, fish tacos and burritos! ??My favorite is the shrimp super burrito!!! ? ?Los Moreno restaurant is a must try! Very kind people work here ?“
“Highly recommended. A great place to have comfort food. I had the best quesadilla I've ever had! A very clean place. Family operated. Can speak English and accept phone payments. The to-go containers are recyclable. Clean tables with shade to eat next to the truck. conveniently located on University Avenue next to Shell gas station. If you happen to pass the station while going toward Dumbarton Bridge 84, I highly recommend stopping by. Even if you are not hungry take it home or to work. I guarantee you will like it and come back. Very nice and friendly staff. I'm planning to try their other foods and report.“

“I typically order food here through doordash. The food is always on point.
A few items I recommend:
1. Chimichangas - Very crunchy and flavorful. Not greasy
2. Taco-dilla with birria - cheesy meaty goodness with the consome. It's perfection.
3. Super burrito - perfect balance in every bite
4. Taco salad - I love the crunchy taco shell with the fresh salad and steak.
5. Chips and guac - Made in house and the chips are thick and crunchy. The guac is fresh with a little bit of crunch from the onions.
One of these days, I need to check it out to get the full experience.“

“Really, really nice people. Ordered three vampiros de birria and a horchata. The order came with a spicy consume for dipping, a roasted chilli pepper, an orange sauce as a topping and slices of radish. Beware, the salsa is hot and I loved it. Don't let the gas station setting next door put you off, I throughly enjoyed this meal.“

“Amazing food. Tortillas are served warm, which was such a pleasant surprise. We ate vegetarian dishes. Food was very tasty and enough quantity. The best was agua fresca ( pineapple), which everybody (kids and 2 of us) liked. The price is pretty cheap for the quality they offer. There was music on and a vendor visited us all with colorful trinkets to sell - best atmosphere I would say :) Local gem I would say.
Vegetarian options: We have dietary restriction. We could tell that the chef and waiter were clearly trying their best to please us. I can't ask for more than that. Obviously the food was very tasty.“

“This review is solely on food as it's a food truck and it's service and atmosphere is about as good as any food truck around that being said for me their food is really really good their El pastor and carnitas is delicious their carne asada is flavorful so that equals to very good tacos and burritos which is all I've had from this spot. Def worth going out the way a lil bit to get food from this truck. ??“

“A good Mexican restaurant which has a large portions. They also have chips & salsa with unlimited refills. The food is kind of hit and miss. I tried fajitas, molcajete, shrimp cocktail, enchiladas & Celia's sampler. The shrimp cocktail was delicious and enchiladas & fajitas seemed decent. I did not like the appetizers.“

“First time here. Got a Rusa and a strawberry crepe. The Rusa is delicious. There is so much packed into one thing (pineapple, mango, orange, tamarindo straw, chammoy, tajin and squirt, and it is so delicious. Tart, sweet, sour, and most importantly, refreshing. The crepe was soft and warm. Freshly made, too. Next time i go, I'll definitely try the ice cream. They have so many flavors to choose from. The staff were very polite and attentive. I'm coming back for sure and you should go too.Bonus points: 2 pictures of Sonic the Hedgehog on the wall.“

“Living just two blocks away, I made it a weekly ritual to dine here, and it remains my absolute favorite spot for street tacos. While I miss the salsa bar, a casualty of the pandemic, it was heartening to find the tacos tasting just as delicious as they did six years ago during my recent work trip. It's reassuring to see that this gem is still thriving.“

“We ordered for takeaway. Everything we ordered was delicious! Chicken tortilla soup would have been better eaten there so the tortilla chips were crunchy but the flavor was delicious. The fish tacos were Delicious. Both grilled and fried. The iguey burrito had shrimp but I substituted it with fish and such a delicious burst of flavor! The shredded beef was not our favorite. Had a certain smoky flavor which some purple may like. But this is definitely going to be our btw favorite Mexican restaurant!
Parking: Couple of spots available by the side of the restaurant that's theirs.
Wheelchair accessibility: One wheel chair accessible parking.“

“Great tacos! The buche, carnitas, and cabeza were all really good (and large/meaty). Each one had a different delightful texture but cabeza was my favorite.... so tender! Fresh salsa bar and free chips are a huge plus. Also the free deep fried jalapenos was a nice touch. Next time I've gotta tried that awesome looking giant fried fish plate.“
