“Great tacos! The buche, carnitas, and cabeza were all really good (and large/meaty). Each one had a different delightful texture but cabeza was my favorite.... so tender! Fresh salsa bar and free chips are a huge plus. Also the free deep fried jalapenos was a nice touch. Next time I've gotta tried that awesome looking giant fried fish plate.“

“Food is fantastic! I usually order a super burrito and it has never disappointed. Meat is cooked to perfection, rice and beans are always delicious, their salsa is very spicy and very good! I'll definitely change it up next time I go, but they have been very consistent every time I go.

Service is okay, not the best, as some of the seem shy or embarrassed to talk. But not rude by any means. They at least offer chips, water, etc.

“Needed to feed my plumbing repair crew nearby, so stopped at Coyote and got several burritos and large sweet orchatas.
The carne asada was really good, and so too was the pollo asado - the super size burritos were substantial and the crew was stuffed - no seconds needed.
The chips were fresh.
The Coyote crew put the to-go order together very quickly, and we're friendly and courteous.

“I always come here on Mondays when I work in San Carlos. One of the best burritos and quesadillas I ever tried so far. The portions are huge, barely can finish it. Very delisious and juicy burritos, specially shrimp one. Nice service, the lady very friendly, and always smiles. Defenetly reccomend👌🏼“

“My son and I YELPED for Mexican food.Good Mexican Food, and decided to give this place a try. I had the Spicy Shrimp Plate, and my son had the Steak and Spicy Prawns. They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out).The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. The Iceberg lettuce and sliced radish was cold, fresh and crispy— Served with a dollop of sour cream, avocado sauce; a slice of tomato and sprinkle of Mexican cheese top the salad - it did a nice job to balance the heat of the main course. Everything was well executed. The overall indoor atmosphere is very clean, simple and no frills. Love their neon menu signage. And, their prices are reasonable. Thank you for the delicious meal. “Kindest family-owned business with excellent reasonably priced Mexican food. We’ve been coming here for 15 years and my kids are raised on their food. Unlike many places that up charge for chips and salsa, they have kept the salsa bar free — it’s so good that I would pay. I think there’s now 8 salsas with plenty of fresh radish, lime, and jalapeño. We never go anywhere else. Favorites: kids pollo asado plate, tacos/burritos, and chicken nachos. Excellent beans and rice and lovely trays for catering, too.“

“Do you love going to Flavortown? How about dreaming with your eyes open? Then try these birria tacos. The first time I had it was from leftovers that my daughter brought home for lunch. Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. I know it seems like I’m exaggerating, but it’s really that good! My only wish is that they had seating nearby & a second location closer to Oakley.“

“Deep fried burritos! It is listed under burrito/chimichanga on the menu. We tried one steak $12.25 and one shrimp $13.25 deep fried burrito. These were wonderful. All this time, I'm eating non-deep fried burritos when there are more variations. The tortilla was fluffy, easy to chew and the ends were the best part. It wasn't oily at all. Our appetizer was a super nachos with carnitas $12. This was huge. We were both full walking out of there.

La Paoma was busy at lunch on a Wednesday. Service was excellent. The food didn't take a long time to come out. Free chips and salsa when we sat down. This is a fun restaurant that will put you in a good mood the rest of the day. Thank you everyone at La Paoma.“

“I only submit reviews in situations where the experience was outside the norm in some way. In this case, the Nachos that I just scarred down might be the best I've ever eaten in my 40 years of life. I wish I took a picture before I started eating them because the chips were stacked really neatly with the toppings on top. It was actually very esthetically pleasing, which I assume probably took some effort. Well, it didn't go unnoticed. Absolutely delicious!!“

They serve it in tacos or as a stew in a bowl to which you can add the salsa, onion, cilantro and lime. In addition they provide hand made tortillas which is the best way to have it.
