“The food is excellent. I visited about a month and a half ago. We had a family of 4. We each ordered two to three rolls, and beer. We all loved the food and I cannot stop thinking of the Honey walnut roll. Super fresh. The only thing disappointing is that our waiter basically left us or went on break halfway through our meal. We were still wanting to order more. He didn’t tell us he was leaving. He didn’t pass us off to another waitperson. It was odd, confusing and kind of disappointing. We had to keep asking waitstaff as they walked by, for additional items, as well as the check. We basically had no additional wait service, unless we sought it out. If they wanted us to come to the counter and order- that would’ve been fine, and the staff could bus, but we were definitely seated and treated as if we would have service at the table at the beginning. We watched other staff wait tables for the entire meal of other patrons. Not sure what was going out with our waiter (shorter guy).
Anyhow the food was great. I’ll probably try carry out next time instead.“

“Sushi was delicious and service was great! Not a romantic spot though because it’s loud but fun if your going with family and friends. Music is good!!“

“Great food, daily menu curated based on their fish for the day - like it should be. Authentic Japanese vibes, good drinks and small plates besides sushi. I usually go for their omakase - changes regularly. Probably the best bang for your buck omakase in the bay. The first white fish was a bit too warm? but others were on point. Loved the tamago that closed the 8 piece platter. The homemade tofu starter was silky smooth. Sake was hot and had a smokey note - very nice for a breezy/chilly day. There are wine and beer options.“

“This is my favorite hole in the wall sushi anywhere in the US. As far as I'm concerned, there isn't a better place in Bay Area. Flavors are on point, creativity is just right, with a nice mix of tradition. I moved to the East Coast, and this is what I crave and where I go every time I'm back.“

“I have been eating at Sushi House for almost 30 years and have almost always ordered their amazing Chinese Chicken salad (prepared the Japanese way) and shrimp tempura udon. It is my go-to place for authentic Japanese comfort food, and their Chinese Chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. I hope they never change that dish!!! Also, Rueben the waiter, is awesome and has waited on my table for almost 20 years. I appreciate such consistency in staff who go above and beyond.“

“This is my and my husband’s favorite sushi restaurant! This is a must-visit restaurant when friends or family visit. This is a restaurant recognized by everyone! It's a little pricey (but not terribly expensive), but it's really worth it⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really recommend this place! In particular, salmon belly and eel sushi melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. Be sure to order it haha. The place itself is small, but the sushi quality is so good that we go often haha.
This is my go-to sushi place in the bay area! I really recommend this place because once you put the sushi into your mouth.. it melts. Especially I recommend unagi(eel) sushi and salmon belly sushi! The price is a little bit high, but reasonable price - because it is definitely worth it. Also all the employees are so kind and nice here :)“

“Great affordable sushi! For the price the sushi is good. Some of my favorites include: BB roll, MJ roll, and Warriors roll. Also I recently tried the Honey Walnut roll and it was good too! I love the walnuts on there.
The service is good. They are attentive in making sure you have everything you need. I don’t feel like we ever wait too long to order or to get the check.
Also I like how this place is the only Bay Area restaurant that I know of that opens past 9 PM
The inside is nice. The restaurant uses a lot of warm wood so it feels very inviting. And the restaurant itself feels new and clean. They have many tables for seating. I also like the appetizer plates they use. They’re very pretty.
Parking: There are a few parking garages in that area of Palo Alto. We usually park at the one nearby.

“We had dinner here a week ago and had a lovely time. We arrived right when they were opening and managed to get a table. They have a few tables outside, the same amount inside, and a sushi counter bar. The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our meal. Both of us ordered the omakase and the fishes were all great. And for the price of $110/person it was perfect for a date night! They also include a sake pairing with the omakase for an additional charge. We went for a bottle of sale with our meal. I highly advise you to get a reservation because this place is very popular.“

“The best sushi place in SF…I am a sushi lover. The fish there are so fresh and the Uni are premium. From the sashimi to the Kobe beef, everything is top. Their pricing is also very reasonable. Eric and Phoebe are very nice and provide excellent service.“

“Fantastic evening at Robin. The omakase restaurant had a hip, night clubby feel to it as the interior was dark with dance club music, but the sushi was definitely worthwhile. Erin and Abby provided friendly and efficient service, which contributed to the overall positive experience. Free parking lot next door makes it easy to find a parking space.“

“Cozy little Japanese restaurant with super friendly servers. The owner works at the counter. I come for Ishiyaki Hitsumamushi (Stone Bowl Seafood Rice) which I don’t think is served anywhere else. I also had tuna bone marrow for appetitzer and black sesame cheesecake for dessert. So many other dishes I want to try so will be back.“

“The name comes from the ability to order small plates of what you want, letting you stitch together the meal you want (and no more / extra). It's not the best quality sashimi, and I wouldn't go here for ambience, but service is quick and you get exactly what's promised. The non-sushi portions are better than I expected“

“The sushi presentation was excellent and made me excited to dig in! Very unique and delicious assortment of sushi and flavors. I felt that the takeout sushi was more economical than if you were do a sit-down omakase at another location in the bay. Pick-up was quick and smooth.
It would have been great if I had recieved confirmation email within a week, instead of following up with the business. However, I understand that this a small business and it can be hectic for the owner to manage communications, logistics and sushi prep for several customers.“

“Not my usual sushi diner, but we wanted to try out a new place. This restaurant has 2 stories with a staircase.
The service was average. The serving staff couldn’t speak English. We didn’t know Spanish so we had to communicate with body language to ask for some water. The staff that actually took our orders knew English, but he was missing the first 10 minutes, counting from when we finished scanning the menu.
The food was very good. Fresh sashimi and sushi rolls. The only thing that could be improved was the plain udon. As far as I know, even Japanese plain udon contains seaweed, fish cakes and tempura crumbs. This one had none. Literally, just udon and broth, not even chopped green onions.
Vegetarian options: They have veggie dishes, look for the descriptions.
Parking: Free parking after 6pm
Kid-friendliness: Kid’s high chairs and plastic utensils
Wheelchair accessibility: I think first floor dining area is for disabilities and elders.“

“My family loved Ozuma, too, but Owada consistently serves some of the most flavorful sushi anywhere on the SF Peninsula. A little pricy, but absolutely worth it!! Owada’s Chirashi Combo bowl is one of the better dishes I’ve had, with lots of variety in bite-sized pieces.“

“Every time I've been here, I've been surprised at the low cost. This place is right next to a higher end sushi joint, but sells rolls and the like for much less, and it honestly feels like a hidden gem because of it. They have some in-ground seating which requires you to take off your shoes, but they also have some standard tables and bench seating along one side of the place. The food is always delicious. I usually got for the tempura and teriyaki chicken (sometimes beef) bento with some CA rolls, a standard American palette classic, and it's always good. My boyfriend appreciates the multiple different cooked rolls and the flowing green tea. His picky-as-ever kid happily ate her cucumber rolls and tried plenty of new things here, which is a huge plus (we thought she would like other sushi places as she claims to love sushi, but would barely touch her CA rolls at rotating sushi!). The joint is clearly run by family as their kids will be on devices or doing homework at a table, but as someone who grew up in a restaurant, it's rather charming to me. The place has a bustling to-go scene, and during dinner it never seems to die down. I'm surprised at the low rating this place gets considering their price and location (I wonder how many people found this place after discovering the neighboring sushi place usually has an hour wait!) As the food will slake a craving and won't break the bank. The chicken is never dry, the soups are always flavorful, the rolls are always tasty and the fish is never smelly/chewy. We live nearby and come at least once a fortnight and have yet to have a bad meal here (though I will say the teriyaki salmon was not the best, but the rest has been fine). Give this place a dine-in try and don't be afraid to try some creative rolls here. I suggest the kamikaze roll.
Kid-friendliness: Kids meal available for dine in only is pretty good.
Parking: Limited street parking, but there's parking around the side streets before or after the restaurant along El Camino“

“We LOVE Ninja. Found them while living in San Bruno and haven’t stopped visiting since. We’ve since move and still go or get takeout when we want delectable sushi. The rice is always soft, fish is always fresh and the specialty rolls are perfect.“
“No parking. No place to eat. Sushi isn't meant to be delivered in my opinion. You have to order online. Their QRcode on the door is outdated and doesn't actually take your order. Price doesn't really make sense when there is no dine in option...“

“Fresh and tasty sushi and udon dishes. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is wonderful. If you're in downtown San Mateo come and eat. You can sit outside and people watch.
I do enjoy their Love Boat and Happy Boat meals. Lots of flavors to savor. Their fish is always fresh. This is my local favorite in San Mateo.“

“Kamu Sushi in South San Francisco is a cozy, small gem that really makes every visit special. Their beer and sake is top-notch and pairs beautifully with the meal. The extra spicy edamame is a fiery delight, while the seafood options like lobster and mussels are impeccably fresh. The nigiri and Spicy Spider Roll round out an unforgettable culinary experience. A must-visit for an intimate evening of great food and drink. Cheers!“

“The sushi is fresh and tantalizing.
Three sushi chefs work non-stop ever since I sit down.
Inside is big with sushi bar and teppan seatings.
They have 2 more places at SFO Airport.
You'll find out. And do enjoy!“

“Hands down the best sushi spot in Peninsula. Been coming here since 2018 and it’s still the same high quality sushi. Unlike other sushi spots, they have a ton of vegetarian options.
I just wish they would stay open till a little bit late. We always get there around closing time as it closes at 8 pm on weekdays, so we have to order everything all at once. :D“

“We got the salmon, hamachi, fatty toro, ikura with shiso and the Hokkaido scallop. The seaweed was toasted so it was nice and crisp. The seafood was very good quality. Very quick. Water was nice and chilled, came in individual glass bottles, and was frequently replenished.“
