All employees are nice and friendly, but the owner is an amazing human being, so humble and approachable, honest and relatable, love chatting with him every time we visit Cali, which is usually 2-3 times a year and we make sure we eat lunch and dinner at Sofra Urbana every day. It was a super busy Saturday lunchtime, above average noise level and food took a little time. I told our server, Brandon, that my son cannot eat anything spicy. I didn't notice when our food came out that my son's fried rice had chili flakes on top. Brandon checked up on us and immediately saw this. He apologized and tool the food back to the kitchen. It was given priority and it did not long to come out. I appreciate his concern and good service.“

“I'm probably never going back to BCD. No MSG, more flavorful, where has this place been all my life?

I have an MSG/glutamate intolerance so I would have an almost immediate reaction after eating. But this is my second time eating here in two days and no reaction. I confirmed it with the daughter of the owners today. No MSG used. The food and side dishes feel like mom/grandma made them. Full of flavor without MSG, what is this magic? The bulgolgi tastes like caramelized kalbi. Amazing. Each of the side dishes have so much flavor maturation.

The beer is priced the same as most happy hours elsewhere.

What we ordered:
Soon Tofu soup + bulgolgi combo with kimchi beef tofu soup. They give you a small salad to start. The side dishes include kimchi, kimchi cucumber, Korean potato salad (with cucumbers and apples), fish cake, broccoli/or spinach tofu, and marinated bean sprouts. Every single item was flavorful and delicious.

I feel satisfied, nourished, and happy eating here. Such a hidden family-owned gem. Support small business y'all.

“I haven't actually been inside this place - I was sick and craving lentil soup, fresh hummus, and taboule. My sweetheart picked it all up for me.

The soup was tasty but very thick. I had to add chicken broth and lemon juice to make it a bit more soup-like. But once I did, it was good.

I was disappointed that the pita wasn't fresh. It's the same brand Zanku uses. I warmed it up to get it hot and soft. The hummus was great. Zero complaints there.

The taboule was the star of the show. It was perfect! Fresh, tasty, delicious. It hit the spot.

Overall, I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their dishes.“

“This is the OG spot. Been coming to Philly’s Best for more than 20 years and have a lot of great memories especially at this location! Went to a different one today and they didn’t have the pepper/pickle bar, didn’t serve beer, and no condiments at the tables like this place does.

Not making that mistake again, this was the first Phillys Best where the chain was born and it’s still the best

Parking: Super easy to find parking here, I’ve never had a problem

Kid-friendliness: My dad used to bring me here all the time growing up and I loved the arcade games they had in the corner by the bathroom

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, shouldn’t have a problem at all“

“Their ice cream is delicious the reason why I only put four stars instead of 5 is because if you want a pint of a specific kind and they don't have it they will offer to scoop out a pint for you. But they don't pack it down so realistically you're only getting 1/3 of a pint but paying for a full. 😑“

“This is one of my go to spots to study when I wanna do work at a cafe. It’s pretty convenient to sit at where you can get a drink and some food.

It’s decently busy so there’s enough noise to keep my brain occupied when working and there’s usually at least a table or two open when it’s busy out. Some spots have outlets too and there’s WiFi to use.

Drinks are like every other 7 leaves, but you can have it either in a Togo or here cup. I usually get the parmesan fries if I want a snack or the ham & cheese croissant.

Very aesthetic and pretty inside. Also, I like the playlist they have in there.“
