“Best lo mai gai I’ve had in San Gabriel!
The owner (?) was so kind and allowed us to come in just as it was about to close. Dishes were ready with zero wait time and we were not rushed at all. The tea was fragrant and strong, and the sticky rice was DELICIOUS! Ordered congee but were so full we couldn’t finish it, reheated it for dinner and was still great! Also a huge fan of the garlic spare ribs. Overall, I highly recommend this place and believe this business deserves to be supported and thriving based on the service and food.“

“One of the best dim sum and bao buns I’ve ever had — absolutely incredible! The place is spotless, which is very important to me, and everything looks stylish with a beautiful and cozy atmosphere.
My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mama Grace. She is such a warm and kind person with an amazing positive energy, and you can truly feel how much she cares about every detail of her place. Thanks to her, I even learned how to properly eat dim sum — gently open it first to let the steam out, add a bit of soy sauce or chili oil if you like, and enjoy it without burning your mouth. It made the whole experience even more special, and I love learning these cultural details.
We also really appreciated that even though the restaurant was about to close, no one rushed us — that level of hospitality meant a lot. As a lovely gesture, we were treated to sesame balls, which I tried for the first time, and they were absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend the chicken bao — it’s amazing.
Thank you for the wonderful food, warm atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. We will definitely be back!“

“A great spot in Little Tokyo that specializes in gyoza! I really enjoyed the food here and it’s at a good cost as well. The service is friendly and kind too. The dumpling soup was my favorite especially when the temperature drops at night. You get to choose your filling and can either get steamed or pan fried. The bento box is a great deal here too. Good spot for sharing food with friends!“
“The best items we got here were definitely the dumplings, which are like soup dumplings, and the crispy pork buns which also had plenty of broth inside. I thought those were super unique, never had something like that before and I really enjoyed the crispiness of the bun. We also got the popcorn chicken which was fine, but a little bit oily and heavy to me, while the pork soup was very light and tasted very clean. Would definitely come here again, truly enjoyed the meal and it was uniquely Taiwanese.“

“What an awesome little restaurant that popped up here. Was looking to try something new and found this amazing little bao spot. The most amazing thing is how they fry these bao. The bottom is hard and crunchy and the top is soft, making a soup filled bao in either seafood, curry or the standard pork. They sell them in quantities of 6 and 2 to 3 is enough to fill me! Highly recommend a quick lunch or dinner here, you won’t be disappointed in the authentic flavors.“

“We went on a Wednesday mid-afternoon. Not many people there. Service was efficient and good. We ordered various dishes and all were quite good and not at all oily. We enjoyed our meal very much. Prices were quite reasonable. Definitely will go back if we’re in the area again in the future.“

“Shrinkflation is real, haven't been here since 2019, but they're still quite tasty. Cash only, prices aren't as high as expected. You don't really need to talk to them if you prefer that, just fill in what you want on their menu and pay. Familiar HK fare but quite delicious“

“Qi Steam Kitchen is so good! We tried several items from the menu, including the chicken wonton soup, chicken xiao long bao, beef noddle soup, beef and vegetable dumplings, scallion pancakes, and pan fried pork bao. All were delicious and came out so quickly! It’s a small restaurant, but there are still several places to sit. There is a small parking lot. The server was very attentive.“

“I haven't been able to try this restaurant since it reopened and I had just the time to do so today. All the dim sum was great, just no BBQ pork buns 😂. The dumplings were thin skinned and tender and tasted similar to what I had in China and the waiters were friendly!“

“We visited LA for a day and chose this cute little restaurant in highland park, and it was amazing! We tried several food items and the meat was cooked perfectly (i love a good pork belly), and it was my first time trying dumplings! My boyfriend still raves about the original pork dumplings 2 weeks later! 10/10, and the staff was awesome and quick!“

“Ricardo was my waiter and it was my first time here. This place is a gem, the food is prepared fresh and with authenticity. Some people say you can’t taste or smell MSG, but I have a sensitivity to it, and I can say this place DOESN’T use MSG! This was something I deeply appreciate, and I take food serious, I enjoy experiencing culture via food and the people who serve it. This restaurant wasn’t too busy Saturday afternoon, to my surprise, but it should be hustling and bustling! I didn’t let this detour me, I lean on hidden gems mostly when I dine out. If you are in the area and looking for something new, and unique, or you are spending the morning at the Huntington Library/Museum and Botanical Garden like I was, (a short 7 minute drive through historic Pasadena/San Marino) try this true Chinese restaurant. The parking is directly across the way, they have a patio, and it’s nestled amongst other charming stores and restaurants. On weekends the location hosts local creatives markets, and music. I had the following increíble, well balanced and savory dishes: pork and chicken dumplings, vegetables fried rice (was very different in a delightful way!), chicken soup, three cup chicken, beef and Chinese broccoli, and jasmine ice tea.“

“This restaurant was a go to place for my mom in the early morning cuz it opened at 8 am. The dim sums was decent but it lacked varieties so choices were limited. Almost all dim sums costed $5.28 per dish except few bbq n special items.
Parking: During weekend around lunch time, it was difficult to find parking nearby the restaurant.“

“The dim sum here is good, especially their shrimp eggplant toast and chicken feet. They offer complimentary indoor parking, which is a big plus. The service is generally good, but if you order main dishes, expect a longer wait especially during busy weekend lunch hours. Overall, it’s a nice spot for dim sum, just be prepared for slower service when it’s crowded.“

“Been coming here for as long as I can remember - I suppose as long as this iteration has existed. The H.Way Frontier is a place you’re introduced to early on if you’re below the line film crew in Burbank running with a rigging or art dept./set Dec crew. This storefront carries on the tradition as I’ll often bump into fellow industry crew here.
All that stuff is well and good but the real reason we congregate here is THE FOOD. There are other good Chinese restaurants in LA but this place to me is by far the best. Consistently wonderful, delicious, very good portion sizes and a nice menu variety. It’s quick (15 minutes or less) and the lunch specials are a great deal. I’m not usually this gushy about anything but Frontier Wok Too deserves every bit of praise I can throw at it. If my family is in the mood for Chinese Food there’s only one choice for us and that is right here. With no traffic it’s still a 20 minute drive one way but it’s worth every minute once we’re sitting down to eat it. You can’t go wrong at Frontier Wok Too. If you haven’t tried it you simply must and you can be the judge.“

“I have been coming to ABC Seafood Restaurant whenever I’m in town for years, and it’s one of my absolute must-stop spots every single visit. Everything here is exceptionally amazing — from the freshest seafood to perfectly cooked dishes. The Peking duck is my all-time favorite, and the crab and lobster are unbeatable. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. 1000/10 recommend!“

“Handmade with love. Tastes as if I'm at my Halmoni's house. Delicate, real and subtle Korean flavors of my childhood, not too sweet or salty. My bf and I ordered the steamed veggie dumplings, chive pancake ((better than my Sumo's! Shhh)), king sized veggie dumplings, side of rice and miso soup. Cooked to order -- be patient. Soft textures. Sweet, hardworking couple. Our fav is the steamed veggie mandu. Vegetarian friendly. Perfect meal. ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶 I love this place, if I lived in LA I'd be here all the time.“

“From the outside this looks like a hole in the wall place in a strip mall but inside it's huge and magical! We had a party of 200 people in there and there was still areas for other pattons.
Aside from most of the staff not speaking English to tell us what we were eating when it was brought out we figured it out and everything was uniquely different in its own way!
I usually take food pics but I didn't this time! P.S beer was only 5 bucks a bottle!“

“「鴻豐尚品」
Originally I was here to park my car and wanted to have lunch at other restaurant nearby. But the sign shows “parking Lot is for customer only”. That’s the reason why I have my lunch here.
I am very pleased with the amazing dim sum and the old-time atmosphere. The portion of food is huge and the price is reasonable. Definitely I’ll come back again!“

“Visited here for the first time and loved it. Easy parking, very nice setup (we were a group of 3- and lots of large round tables available). The menu is large and fun to choose from, and they have a nice lunch special of various small dumplings for $5.50 each- fun to order one or two before the main course arrives. The lunch courses came in about 10 minutes or so, but in the meantime we enjoyed the dumplings and the hot tea. The food quality is very good. Tip- I recommend ordering a few dishes, and sharing it with friends- makes is a lot more fun. Go if you can.“

“A classic Cantonese restaurant in LA that’s perfect for Lunar New Year gatherings
Honestly, the Lunar New Year vibe in Los Angeles isn’t always about lanterns or decorations —
sometimes it’s found in an old, reliable restaurant where the whole family can eat comfortably and happily 🥢
Before the Lunar New Year, I took my family to this Cantonese restaurant in Alhambra.
The environment was very comfortable, with spacious table spacing. You hear Cantonese all around, which feels truly authentic. The service was steady and reliable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Their dishes aren’t flashy, but they’re the kind you can keep eating without getting tired of 👇
🍃 Lotus leaf–steamed frog: light and delicate, very tender, and easy to enjoy bite after bite
🧄 Typhoon shelter–style clams: perfectly garlicky, served hot and quickly cleaned off the plate
🦑 Salt-and-pepper fresh squid: crispy outside with a nice chew inside, cooked just right
🥬 Stir-fried pea shoots: clean and refreshing — a must on any shared table
🍜 Dry-fried beef chow fun: not greasy, noodles intact, beef tender — classic Cantonese fundamentals done well
A really heartwarming touch was the complimentary soy milk & black sesame tangyuan 🍡 after the meal.
Warm, lightly sweet, and not cloying — the perfect ending.
If you’re looking for a Lunar New Year spot where:
✔️ elders feel comfortable with the food
✔️ the family can chat without too much noise
✔️ the dishes are consistent and reliable
This place is a great choice.
Sometimes, the feeling of the New Year is simply sitting around the same table and enjoying a good meal together 🤍“

“Our 1st time going and BOY IT WAS DELICIOUS. I was sadden about them closing. Awesome Customer Svc“
“Wow! Meat pies from heaven in a mini- mall off N Garfield Avenue. Everything here is great. Not a sit down place as such, since it's really small and they only have a few tables, but I'm sure you could eat in if you wanted to (they have a short menu) - but it's not really a restaurant atmosphere - more of a small hole in the wall family run takeout, with Grandpa making dumplings by hand at a table when I was there. There seems to be very little English spoken here. Very delicious and authentic - I'll be back!“

“We had the lobster meatballs, egg custard buns, and pork and crab dumplings. The flavors and textures were so interesting and totally scrumptious. Everything was made fresh and brought out piping hot. We've travelled the U.S. extensively and are foodies, so let me tell you this place is a true authentic gem which should not be overlooked.“

“Bummed that they didn’t have carts, BUT went with a big group around 10:30 on a Sunday and it was fantastic! Honestly some of the tastiest Dim Sum I’ve had. Not the biggest selection, some things aren’t listed on the menu so you have to ask. The standouts were the salt and pepper shrimp, shumai and shrimp stuffed eggplant (though they forgot the sauce). Really understaffed but they were relatively friendly for dimsum (IYKYK).“

“5/2026:
I've tried a few other dim sum places around the area and this is the only place I've been to that serves chili sauce as well as real chili oil with the actual chili flakes. It makes a huge difference. The food also comes out piping hot. They are literally cooking some of the food on their dim sum carts, which is awesome.
2023:
Prices are decent for dimsum which is great; it's cheaper during the week. My friends and I like coming here. The staff seem to recognize us.
On some days the food is greasy; other days, not so much. If the food is not greasy, we end up eating and ordering more food.“

“I will be back but I won't order number 22 next time. It's the traditional house ramen but the pork came with the skin that looks like chewing gum. The seasoning was great. The noodles were cooked just right and had a good consistency. They could have added a little more bean sprouts. The service was so charismatic that even though it wasn't the best ramen I've ever had, I'll be back again since the price is super super fair.“

Tucked away in a quiet plaza, East Garden delivers comforting Chinese classics with a warm, family run vibe. The sesame chicken is crispy perfection, and the hot & sour soup hits all the right notes. Service is fast, friendly, and refreshingly genuine. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or settling in for a cozy meal, this spot feels like home. Don’t skip the house made chili oil it’s magic.“

“Foo, listen. When the lady taking your order has bread flour on her shirt you know it is going to be fresh.
My family loved the breakfast. House crepe comes with preserved tofu sauce. Crepe was kinda like roti. Everything handmade. Fair prices EOY 2025. 4 adult 1 kid ~60 bucks.
Wish the menu had photos for us ABCs, but you can see better pics on Yelp.“
