“Coffee was okay, my hazelnut latte has a lot of milk than I prefer. But their hot cocoa was better. I recommend the apricot croissant, its sooo good!

They have savory breads and ice cream as well. Plenty of seating inside and even outside by the patio. Service was fast and friendly.“

The Source Cafe (est 2017) is a popular and fun little breakfast spot right on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach. It has a cool vibe, lots of fun things on the menu, healthy smoothies, and baked pastries. Interior design and layout were brilliant with abundant natural light.

We came on an early weekend morning to grab breakfast; it was my first time at this cafe. I was warmly greeted by a male staff with a smile. I ordered an iced coffee and avocado toast. Both items were solid. Breakfast AT was delightful and healthy.
Services were spot on. Prices were fair for the area. Plenty of street metered parking.

Overall, this cafe is a good spot for breakfast. I recommend it.“

I ordered a cold brew, but it was extremely watered down, so that was disappointing. The woman who took my order at the counter was not friendly at all, which really ruined the experience for me. It’s almost like I had no right to be there. I didn’t order any food, but the open faced bagels looked really good, so I gave the food 5 stars as a benefit of the doubt.

Parking can be rediculous as it's mall parking, best to NOT park where Google tells you to (in front of the main entrance to PF Chang's and Lazy Dog) and go over to the side of the building by the entrance to the Mitsuwa Food Court for easiest access!

We were looking for someone who could provide all the dessert for our wedding, bring us something other than a traditional wedding cake experience, and also bring some extra flair to our big day. Marsha did all that and more. Our cake table was decorated so beautifully! She made the most delicious cupcakes of all different flavors for our guests to enjoy. She even made an ADORABLE cake topper for us that everyone raved about. In addition, Marsha made us a gorgeous, delicious, moist 3 layer cake , and she even was able to bring a ROLLED ICE cart too! People could not get over how cool it was to have rolled ice cream at our wedding, especially because Marsha had extra cupcakes to put in with the ice cream. She was so collaborative, easy to work with, and fun. Everything we asked her to do, she accommodate, often gently giving her sage advice along the way. You’ll want to go back again and again. And as a bonus you also get to meet some of the people there in the neighborhood as well as some of the people you already know. The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. “This tiny bakery is THE best! The conchas and elotes pasties are my standard order here (but you really can’t go wrong with most anything else behind those glass cases. The cream cheese and pickled jalapeño bolillos are fantastic!), but they sell out quickly, especially the vanilla conchas. When I fly back home (Albuquerque), I’ll call night before, or super early morning day of, and they very kindly set an order aside.
I’ve also ordered the Tres Reyes cake here, and it did not disappoint! I’ve never NOT been stuck with a whole round of this cake, when I’ve picked one up from the grocery store. But Ramirez’s had people going back for 2nds, in spite of increasing their odds of getting “the baby” folded into it, and therefor having to host a party -it was soft and pillowy and tasty.
This place is a true gem. Definitely try them out, but be sure to bring cash, as they are cash only -strictly. But if you forget, there are a couple of stores in the strip with ATMs.

It is a small panaderia but the Mexican sweet bread was fantastic! The conchas were just coming out of the oven so I grabbed one and a crème filled empanada. Both were delicious! “First, I like to clarify the two store names (Paran Poong Cha and Blue Windmill Bakery) are the same bakery located at 15200 S. Western Ave. So my review applies to both names. This is our second time at the store and this time we bought a mini blueberry cake and 4 red bean buns. The blueberry mini cake is good, not too sweet and you can see the fresh blueberries. The fresh creme is not as light and fluffy as Angel Maid's in West LA and the cake is a little denser than Angel Maid's. Overall, the cake is enjoyable and is good alternative to Angel Maid's. Next, the red bean buns are, black sesame, sweet potato and traditional red bean bun. I have not seen so much red bean filling in a bun and when you pick up the bun, you can feel how heavy the bun is. The buns are very tasty if you enjoy red bean. The sweet potato red bean is a lovely surprise, it's one of the best we tried. The filling is a mix of red bean paste and sweet potato paste, so creamy and delicious, It's a hit in our family. Finally, the owner is very generous, she gave us two types of red paste buns to try. The red bean buns are between $3.50 to $4 each. We will definitely be back again! Note, they are closed on Sundays!“

The pastries are fine, but they lack the crispy flakiness that separates a great pastry from a good one. The flies have also become a big problem out back.
