“Its a beautiful cosy place, takes you back in time. The cakes, as you can see in the video look delicious (didn't try one though). We had the lemon pancakes which were AMAZING, also the breakfast burrito which was really delicious as well and very filling. Their coffees were also flavourful and strong.Lastly, salmon with potato pancakes..which I personally didn't really like.. they had a funny taste.. quite soggy.. something about the salmon? Or the eggs? I didn't understand but unfortunately has a weird and not good taste.“

“My first time here and I LOVE the ambiance, the environment is nice and the inside of this place is gorgeous. Just enough space and plenty of tables/seats to sit and even get some work done! GREAT music and vibes. However, I was not too fond of the managers here, they were a little rude and non-personable which rubbed me the wrong way. Especially the female manager here whose name I did not get, seems as though she was NOT fond of people of color. Lalo and Gabriel were lovely, had great energy, and were super attentive! Food and drinks aspect-wise, I LOVED the salmon cucumber toast and lavender oat latte. Very tasty, and would 1000% try again. I do hope if and when I return the management can be more friendly and receptive to ALL.“

“This is actually a review for Homegirl's catering service: I hired Homegirl to cater my book launch at the University of Southern California. Nadine was super easy to work with in planning out the kinds of foods I wanted for my event. Abel did an excellent job finding our venue and setting up a delicious spread. I got turkey sandwiches, roast beef sandwiches, and vegan sandwiches. Everything was delicious on fresh bread baked by Homegirl. We also had agua frescas, hummus, and salad. The hummus was actually so popular that I barely got to try any. My guests ate it all! Note to self: order extra hummus next time. Putting on an event is time consuming and stressful, but Homegirl made the food portion of my event easier to manage. I highly recommend them. They will be at the top of my list for future catering events.“

“I was in the area for work and a coworker actually recommended this place to me! It seems to be one of those trusty college delis that suddenly appeared one day and permanently becomes student lore. Inside, I found a quant mini-market stocked with a bunch of snacks, drinks, and the counter for ordering. The worker (i forgot his name!) helped us immediately, and I ordered the pastrami. I sat outside, where there were plenty of tables with shade! The worker brought out the sandwich to us, and I thought it was huge! The price seemed a bit high for ne, but that wasn't too big of a concern since the sandwich was jam packed with meat and kraut. The flavor wasn't too salty for me, and had the right amount of flavor with the bread. This was a great spot, and I'll have to stop by again.“

“Love that the pastries here are always fresh! Great croissants. Good espresso drinks. I like that they have a seasonal espresso to try, as an espresso lover who appreciates light roast espresso.Pourovers are okay. I don't know if it's because they are so busy or because of the kinds of beans they use, but many times I find them to not be my favorite. They seem to be worse during rush hour so I think it's an execution thing. Love that they have multiple bean options, I recommend going with one of the "darker" ones as they taste fruitier to me, Marus lightest roasts tend to be sour IMO.Also they need have some restrictions on dogs here. I've had so many dogs sniffing me, trying to eat my food, or literally jump on me. I came to a cafe, not a dog park.“

The breakfast burrito, crepe, French Toast combo, and of course their açaí bowls are my favorites. They make a pretty hearty breakfast sandwich as well.Because their portions are big, don’t come here expecting to pick up fast food. The service is not slow. “Last minute search for a breakfast/brunch type spot and found Marin Cafe. It's located in an area off of Rosmead that shares a small parking lot with Zapien's Salsa Grill. It is a small lot but there's parking on the other side. I went while it was raining in the morning around 9 so it was pretty empty. The cafe is a small shop with 3 four-seater tables so not good for huge groups. But the decor was really cute and cozy. A mix of cafe and small bakery. Love the painted walls with the cake and bakery items painted on. There was a large display case of various bakery good from conchas, to croissants, to cakes and cake slices. Everything looked so good. Brisa (I hope I didn't spell her name incorrectly, apologies!) was our barista and she was lovely. Very friendly and let us take our time, she answered my bf's questions about the food. We chatted here and there and then placed our orders with her. She kept us updated on our food as they made the wrong sandwich for me and needed to remake it which was no problem and appreciated. The food was delicious! We ordered a concha, with an Abuelita hot latte, a mocha hot latte, breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Recommend the Abuelita hot latte for sure, perfect on a rainy cold day. The chocolatey spice from the Abuelita was so good with the espresso, the mocha was great as well great blend of chocolate and coffee. Now the breakfast sandwich was bomb, presentation and taste were great. Eggs were hot and fluffy, bacon crispy, with ham, and refreshing tomato avocado and lettuce with a honey mustard type sauce. It also came with a side of potato salad, pickles and banana peppers. The potato salad is EXACTLY how I like it, not mayonnaise-y and sweet. Brekfast burrito was nice and filling too, bf said he'd definitely add bacon next time as mine was crispy in my sandwich hash browns were crispy and the creamy lime cilantro sauce was so good with it. I also ordered a slice of the mocha tres leches cake...so good not overly sweet and mocha wasn't too strong. The cake was overly saturated with milk which I would've like but it had the right amount of moistness so not to make it soggy. All in all definitely reccomend this little gem of a cafe. Owners and staff are all friendly and the food and drinknwere fantastic. Definitely coming back for more cake!“

“Ate here on a Saturday morning with my son. We both got pancakes shared some sausage, eggs, and french fries ( my son's request. He's 4) The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The server was nice and I could tell they didn't want to overwhelm her. As you saw in other reviews, this place has some funny rules. Since we were very hungry, once she came over to take our drink orders we were ready to get the kitchen started on our food. I started to place the order for our food and the server stopped me and said that another table that came in before us hasn't ordered yet. And that it would be fair to wait. I didn't like this at all but the other table placed their order immediately after so it wasn't too bad. I'm gonna wait until they fix some staffing and operations issues before I go back, even though the food was good.“

“The staff was very polite and accommodating due to the rain. They were understanding that we wanted to take our time so we wouldn't have to walk outside in. The food was delicious and worth the price. The server explained that the Huntington Tea comprised of tea size sandwiches, but when it arrived, my fiancé and I were astonished at the amount of food they give you, in addition to the tea and glass of Prosecco. We needed to take our time as everything was very filling. We highly recommend it, just don't eat before like we did“

“Honestly, the taiyaki here is the best I've ever tasted! It nails the perfect texture balance, with a crispy exterior that gives way to a wonderfully chewy inside. And the red bean filling? Absolutely flawless every time. There's nothing like enjoying it fresh – that's when it truly shines. My only wish is for them to invest in more taiyaki makers to cut down the wait time during busy hours.“

Lemonade Slush

“I stopped by randomly at night, and it was empty. The decor was nice and vibrant. With lots of anime stuff, which is awesome to me as an Otaku. I ordered the mango passion fruit lemonade. It was made quickly and to perfection. The level of sweetness to tartness was spot on. The lady asked me to taste it before I left to ensure I liked my drink. I told her it was perfect. This particular location has had many tea owners inhabit it, but hopefully, this place is around for a long while. I wanna try lots of other delicious drinks!“

“This is a really cute tiny spot right across the metro on Flower Street. The inside is very minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing. I did hear a lot of wonderful things about their matcha but sadly they were out for the day, which is okay it happens; I'll definitely be back for it! The owner was super sweet and a very helpful guy. All the menu items come with oat milk automatically, which is cool- you can always substitute with another milk except for the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte. I got the two best selling coffees which was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch + G Spot - I loved the Cinnamon Toast Crunch one it was perfectly flavored, but the G Spot one I had to toss as it was sooooooo sweet it was like drinking sugar; but Im sure that can be pleasant for sweet tooths so I'm not judging! The menu is super extensive so Im pretty sure there is something for everyone to love! Pricing is very high up there, but Im also not going to judge on that as cost of goods are flying through the roof for restaurant industries as well. Overall pretty good :)“
