Consider the yuzu kosho sauce to complement the rolls. The lunch special of four rolls, miso soup and edamame is a great bargain, and they will substitute if you have allergies. The cucumber salad and crispy rice tartar are a nice way to start.“

“I happened upon this place while I was at the rage part of hangry (don't forget to eat folks lol). As I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a welcome from the employee behind the counter. He was like joy and sunshine in human form, and something about this place felt so calming. I went from hangry meltdown in the car to totally fine within minutes of being inside. The employee was so friendly and kind that all my hangry rage melted away. Completely impressed. I ordered the poke bowl, and it was incredible. I kid you not, every single bite was just as amazing as the first. I love poke bowls, and this was the best one I've ever had. It was so fresh and just perfect. For context, I'm a really picky eater and rarely take the time to leave reviews. 10/10 would recommend.“

“Super tasty, unpretentious, simple sushi. Came in for lunch, the waiter pointed out a special close to what I had wanted in case I didn't see the better deal. Had a beer in the coldest mug ever! Spicy tuna and a cali roll were served quick on the same plate. Veggie tempura was filling and good. Also had the rice and miso soup, all were good with no discrepancies. My only drawback is presentation, no wow or zaz in the serving. 10/10 would still come back for lunch or date. Fast and attentive service.“

“We stopped by Sushi On Fire in Huntington Beach for lunch and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and some of the best rolls we’ve had in a long time.

We ordered several different items including a Jalapeño Roll, a Seared Albacore Roll, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, and a tuna sashimi style plate, and everything was fantastic. The flavors were incredible and you can tell they really know what they’re doing with their sauces and preparation. Every roll had its own unique taste and was perfectly balanced.

The wait staff was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

One of the coolest parts is that their patio is dog-friendly, so we were able to bring our Pomeranian with us to lunch, which made the day even more enjoyable.

Great sushi, great service, great atmosphere. If you're in Huntington Beach and looking for excellent sushi, Sushi On Fire is definitely worth a visit.

“This is some of the best sushi in HB, and maybe in all of OC. Some of their specials are pretty mind blowing (the price tag is too, but that's sushi/fresh fish!). Service is great. As others mentioned, if you want to be certain of a table, it's best to book as they are pretty regularly busy. You can go for a great lunch too. Parking is easy. My only negative is the restaurant smells very greasy to me, but that only bothers me upon entering, after that I stop noticing it. Not a lot of ambiance, but this is not unusual for sushi especially in a strip mall.“

“I found Ikeda Japanese Dining on Saturday on Google Maps after driving a couple of hours and feeling hungry. I arrive a little before 4 pm beating the evening dinner crowd hungry for something other than fast food. I was greeted by the hostess/waiter and offered the choice of a table or booth in a manner of a practiced courtesy. Before ordering, I had to use the restroom and was pleasantly surprised that not only was the facility clean but looked like an attractive restroom in a nice home instead of a neglected facility in a community park. The décor of the restaurant itself is simple but welcoming.

The menu is fairly extensive that would satisfy most. I placed my order and started reading my book (I was dining alone that day) when the food started coming sooner than expected. I mentioned that was fast to the waiter and she paused and then made a philosophical comment about the concept of time that made me chuckle. The Japanese style fried Calamari was hot and crispy and a good amount for an appetizer. I ordered two rolls. The Ichiban Roll (Spicy tuna roll topped with yellowtail tempura) that tasted freshly made but did not taste “spicy” which was fine with me. The Spicy Baked Salmon Roll (California roll, jalapeño, topped with baked salmon, eel sauce, spicy mayo and sriracha) had just the right amount spicy heat to make taste interesting and enjoyable. The sauce on both rolls was tasty.

I must say, the presentation of the food was excellent. I was impressed in the way the Baked Salmon Roll looked elegant on a broad leaf (don't know what vegetable that was). The sauce on the roll was added with a touch of artistic flair. My complements to the kitchen.

A shout out to the waiter Leann whose courtesy, attentiveness and general hospitality was exceptional and who represented the face of the restaurant very well. Next time I am in the neighborhood, I plan to come again with my family. Cheers!“
