“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. Strongly recommend the edamame and furikake fries.Service is great except that the server forgot about some of our orders. Payments were settled smoothly(split b/w 4 cards).Parking is easier and right in front of the restaurant. “We recently moved to Lakewood. Normally we have sushi in J-Town or Torrance, but we don't really want to drive too far. We had sushi at a spot in Lakewood a month ago, but it was terrible. A relative recommended this place, and I have to say, I was skeptical. Anyway, we came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Parking was not too easy, but luckily we found street parking nearby. The interior is really well done. We could immediately tell that there is major customer loyalty, since I believe it is the owner that greets everyone and there were a lot of regulars. The servers are very friendly and attentive. I was very surprised that they had a great selection of fish (great fish) and even had ankimo (monkfish liver) and natto (fermented soybeans) too. The salmon skin salad also is the best salad I have ever had! We loved everything about this really great place and definitely will be back soon!“

A total of 4 of us came with my 2yr old that fell asleep. Without even asking the staff accommodated us by seating us in the enclosed outdoor area (it's quieter there than inside) and turned on the heater without being asked. Extremely attentive staff checking in on us (we never felt forgotten outside). “We came the weekend after Valentine's Day and the place was packed. We ended up sitting outside on the patio with heat lamps. The area we sat was a bit small but overall, not a bad ambiance. The sushi was fresh and the prices are reasonable for what you are getting. We ended up over ordering a little. My favorite item of the night was the crab meat wrapped in salmon. We also ordered some yakitori, the toro with uni and caviar, the kaiseki set, and the sushi set for 2. In addition, I ordered the chawanmushi (steamed egg with seafood) and it was great. My only complaint about the experience was I asked the waitress what was in the kaiseki set because I didn't want repeats. She didn't know and didn't end up checking for us. I ordered the chawanmushi, which ended up being a repeat item because it also came with the kaiseki set. In addition, there were also a couple sushi items that were also repeats with the sushi set. I was a little annoyed by that because we ended up with too much food (and of the same food) and she had been trying to suggest more items. Aside for the upselling, everything else was great and we know what to order next time.“

Just on look alone, it looked like what you would see at a high priced sushi spot. They have 50% nigiri, so salmon is like $3.99 for 2 pieces. Tuna is $4.50 for 2 pieces and the most expensive is Otoro at like $15 for 2 pieces. Typically, a 50% off sushi sign would terrify me, and I would be lying if I said i wasn't skeptical the first time I went here but I assure you, the skepticism will be long gone after you see the sushi hit the table. It tastes incredible and it was so good that after going my first time, I went again 2 more times over the course of the next 2 weeks. Crunchy skin, moist salmon and flavored just right. The salad, though small, was dressed appropriately. The salad dressing very yummy. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed was spot on. Truly not from a packet. My partner ordered the yaki soba. Very reminiscent of our tours in Japan. Brought us back to the little shops of Tokyo. Of the sushi, rolls and appetizers I ordered, there was nothing that stood out as spectacular. Other than the nigiri sushi, everything else had a lot of sauces and filled with a lot of spicy tuna or imitation crab. For the $33.99 price during lunch, I don't think I fully got my monies worth.
