“Eat here often since I drive a lot, ordered tacos and poppers , Jalapeño poppers came back a bit lacking, for the first time in a long time for the record. Called up, a Mister Carlos promptly apologized and fixed my order for me, little to no delay. Good customer service, good food, but watch them poppers.“

“Hidden gem of a taco shop!! They use fresh tortillas for their tacos and burritos and let me tell you, it really sets them apart from your usual SD taco spot. The food is fresh and doesn’t have that old-reheated taste that some others do.
Only con for some may be there are a couple of picnic tables outside for seating, otherwise it’s takeout. ☺️“

“This place was a pleasant surprise! My boyfriend and I ordered the combo meal with 3 tacos, fries and a drink. The tacos were so flavorful and delicious. He got 1 steak, 1 chicken, and 1 shrimp and was very satisfied. We even contemplated going again that night but we missed their closing time by 30 minutes. The only not so good thing were the fries but overall 10/10 highly recommend.“

“I missed my trolley stop so I jumped off and see this taco shop across the tracks. The owner was very friendly. He said you missed your stop to come try my food. I "Why not?" and order 3 mini tacos - cabeza, adobado, carnitas. Each one was so tasty. The tortillas were fresh and perfectly chewy. The salsas nicely spicy. And I got a grilled jalapeño. Love those. I'm going to miss my stop every Monday from now on!“

“California Burrito Ranking (4):
Continuing my quest to rank San Diego's California Burritos!
Stop number four: Humberto's Taco Shop.
Product: The burrito was the largest I've ever seen, served incredibly quickly. It was fiery hot, almost too much so.Personally, I found the meat a bit dry. It's the cheapest burrito I've had in the city. They offer very spicy sauces. 5 out of 10
Service: The interaction was decent. 4 out of 10
Ambiance: Vibrant colors. Customers carve messages directly into the tables. When I arrived, it was quiet, but soon a large crowd formed and the line extended right to my table. 4 out of 10“

“My wife gets the huaraches and I come for the tacos. Been eating their tacos since before they had a truck, the meat smells so good I just had to try them. The tortillas are nice and soft and they add all the fixins like onions and cilantro, lime with several salsas to choose from. I get the cabeza, birria and asada tacos. Bomb! They just melt in your mouth🤤. Flavor Stop! Nice multi-cultural atmosphere as well. Go here and get your fix.👍“

“The "Keka" Taco is not a taco. It is a declaration of war against hunger, against mediocrity, against the sad, pale shadows of what lesser places dare call “Mexican food.” A hand-made corn tortilla, thick and supple, griddled to golden perfection, cradling a heaping pile of perfectly charred carne asada, melty cheese binding it all together in gooey, beef-fat ecstasy. It’s part taco, part quesadilla, and all masterpiece. You bite in, and suddenly, life makes sense. The rich, smoky beef, the salty-sweet cheese, the slightly crisp, slightly chewy tortilla—it’s the kind of balance you’d expect from a kitchen that’s been perfecting this for generations. There’s a snap of acidity from whatever salsa you dare to douse it with, maybe a hit of lime if you’re feeling particularly self-indulgent. It’s greasy in all the right ways. Messy, joyous, an experience meant to be eaten with both hands and zero shame. This is the taco dreams are made of. The kind of meal that makes you question why you ever wasted time on anything less. A 10 out of 10. Hell, an 11. If you don’t eat this, you are failing at life.“

“Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Had the grilled chicken plate which had generous portions of chicken, rice and beans along with guacamole and a bit of salad. That plate hit the spot and really filled me up. The people there were so friendly and even offered me their special salsa (not on the menu) that was super good, tasty and spicy. Will definitely return to try something else next time.“

“Cute little walk up Mexican restaurant with the best brekkie in Bankers Hill. Delicious chilaquiles enough for two! I couldn't decide between the burrito (which I saw was huge). Definitely gonna be a return to spot during the week!! Yum!“

“The Restaurant was called El Rinconcito, under new owner. We stopped here after a visit to Sesame Street Place, hoping to have some authentic Mexican food. We were not disappointed! Oh my, this place tastes like your authentic San Diego style Mexican food! Amazing meat, topped with some delicious flavorful salsas. I will definitely be back during our next vacation in town!“

“The first bite reminded me of the tacos. My mom makes it home so I will definitely be coming back to this place. Got the Pastor and asado and they asked if I wanted beans with it which was not something I typically get offered, but I did try it and it was a tasty addition. Also the selections of pickled onions and salsa was awesome. Really chill spot near barrio Logan and the people were friendly.“

“Loved this place! First time here. We were visiting family in San Diego and were looking for a quick. We saw this 5-Star rated place and drove to it. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is amazing, plentiful and cheap. Easy to find along Imperial Ave. There isn't much parking but it's worth whatever you have to do to get there. It is located INSIDE a convenience store.“

“I'm giving it 4 stars because lately, the tortillas taste OLD. Before the tacos were soft, not chewy. The tostadas were breakable and crunchy. Lately, they are not that breakable and crunchy. The service is excellent!
Wheelchair accessibility: They have both low tables with removable chairs and pub tables with stools. For a wheelchair or walker with a seat, you can just remove a chain.“
“This gem of a truck has the best surf and turf burritos in San Diego. The meat is juicy and tender + the combo of shrimp and chipotle sauce is amazing. I squeeze lime into every bite with their salsa habanera (it is HOT but delicious!). This place is easy to miss it as it is located in front of Pick Your Part but I look forward to coming back to eat.“

“Top notch local hole in the wall type restaurant. Out of all of San Diego, this is where I get my burrito fix; specifically with the surf & turf. Today I tried their Big Breakfast Burrito and although it was delicious it was too much meat for my liking. The roll tacos, flautas are yummy and so are the sides of orange Mexican rice and refried beans. They have tasty red and green salsa plus pickled carrots and jalapeños. They offer a variety of traditional stews, caldos, as well as tortas and other traditional Mexican dishes. We also tried the chilaquiles today and those were approved. Basically, everything we've ever tried here we have enjoyed. The taste and food quality is consistent. The staff is sincerely friendly and helpful. Been coming here for ages. And there's a Cafe Moto cross the street. Oh! And a local small bookstore too. Jeje hehe great intersection.“

“I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.
I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.
Bravo to the owners, we wish you great success, and many years in business so that we may comeback many times.“

“Regardless that the employees here don't ever smile at you and their salsa taste like frozen mariscos, their food hits the spot at 3am after a night out. Haven't been here in years and they still serve the same huge portions of meat and toppings on their crispy fries.“

“Food is excellent, I tried fish tacos, ceviche and aguachile. Everything was perfect they have flavored water and both are very good. The waitresses are very polite and friendly but they do get busy and sometimes it may take a few minutes to get their attention but that may be because it was mother's Day. Highly recommended.“

“Delicious Mexican food. It’s off the beaten path as they say but don’t be intimidated. Carnitas and beans were some of the best around. If you happen to be visiting Coronado this place is 10 minutes from the Island and 10x better than the Island Mexican food.“

“Our first time to this restaurant did not disappoint. Our server, Kaylee, was amazing. She was so friendly and checked in on us just the right amount of times to make sure we never needed anything. She was also great with giving menu recommendations. The chips and salsa were good. The short rib Machaca chimichanga was delicious. It was my birthday and they had a birthday card on the table for me, which was really nice. They also gave me a complementary dessert. The food was delicious and Tuesdays they have all day happy hour. They have TVs with sports in the bar which is nice. I will definitely be coming back.“

“Great place to enjoy a drink or a bite of food overlooking the Coronado Beach and Hotel del Coronado. Weekends are busy yet we were able to get a table to enjoy the cold beverage enjoying the autumn sun. They play live music in the afternoons making the place to visit and enjoy time with family and friends.
Free street parking is available a short walk away but can be hard to find at times. A must visit destination on your next trip to San Diego.“
