We had a great experience at Sushi Monster in Montrose. From start to finish, everything felt relaxed, welcoming, and well taken care of.

The rolls were the standout — beautifully presented, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Each roll tasted fresh and well-balanced, without being overpowered by sauces. The nigiri and sashimi were equally impressive, clearly made with quality fish and attention to detail.

What really elevated the meal, though, was the attentive and friendly service. Our server was knowledgeable, checked in at the right moments, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling rushed or pushy. It made the entire experience feel genuinely enjoyable.

“Best açaí ever!! They literally let you pick unlimited toppings, comparatively to other açaí places I have ordered from, they charge me $2 per extra topping after 3 toppings. “Charming little cafe tucked away in LA Crescenta. Plenty of easy street parking and two relaxing patios, in addition to a few inside tables. I was afraid there would be lots of street noisr sitting on the patio closest to Foothill, but didn't notice it nearly as much as the loud people sitting near us (LOL). The food was freshly prepared and delicious. I had the chicken salad wrap that came with a small side salad, and my friend had the portobello mushroom sandwich that came with a side of sweet potato fries. I would definitely go back.“

“I just had lunch with my two daughters, ages 12 and 15. It was our first time here.

We ordered three plates: two 3-birria taco combo plates and one order of vampire tacos with chorizo. We tried all the sauces that came with them, along with a 24-ounce horchata.

My girls and I are usually pretty loud. We talk. We’re animated. We gush over the food.

But when we ate these tacos, we ate in silence because the food was that good. To speak would have taken us out of the moment. So we said nothing. We just sat there, lost in our own thoughts, luxuriating in tender meats, spicy red sauce, and complex flavors.

This is how you get tweens to enjoy family time: really good tacos.

And guess who told me about this place? The 12-year-old. Apparently, it’s trending. I recommend it too.“

“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

It's a week later that I tried these tacos and I can't stop talking about them. My favorite was the beans with cactus. Soooo good. Also, the atmosphere was just so nice and lively. “The best spicy Chinese Food in OC/LA area hands down! They have been Michelin recommended for a reason. Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. My faves are their dry pots, toothpick lambs, Qiao Jiao Beef. We also like their spicy ribs and boiled fish in chilli sauce, and Mao cai. Service is great too!“

“Artelice Pâtisserie feels like stepping into a luxury French pastry boutique. The dessert case alone is stunning, velvet textures, glossy finishes, delicate designs, and pastries that look almost too pretty to eat.

I finally tried the Tropical Mango entremet along with the raspberry chocolate pastry. The Tropical Mango was easily my favorite, silky, refreshing, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The raspberry chocolate pastry was beautifully made with raspberry compote and chocolate mousse, but I’m just personally very picky with chocolate-heavy desserts.

The iced vanilla latte paired perfectly in between bites of the mango pastry, super refreshing and smooth. I also ended up grabbing a few macarons on the way out and honestly every flavor was incredible, even though macarons normally are not my thing at all.

Definitely worth the hype if you appreciate beautifully executed French pastries and upscale café vibes.“
