“This is our favorite spot to dine in if we are craving sushi and rolls 🍱 it’s always always always fresh, the fish is shining when they bring it in. And when I say always, I mean we dine in here once or twice a week. The staff is so friendly. We have never been disappointed and honestly haven’t liked sushi or rolls anywhere else as much as we do it at Sushi Monster. We have tried almost the entire menu and everything is so good. It’s very affordable and the atmosphere is very friendly and warm. We usually get the hot green tea 🍵 which they refill as much as you want. The green tea ice cream is great too.“

“We moved a street over and were excited to try. The $80 omakase left us full and content! The perfect amount of food. The black cod, seared salmon, and otoro were huge highlights. As a ginger lover, I was thrilled with how good this was and ate my entire pile mostly plain with just with their high quality soy sauce. We couldn't help eyeballing the huge 12 piece rolls that were going out past us and can't wait to try next time.“

“Excellent place. We tried the crispy rice, rattle snake roll, and sunset roll. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service is great, and the restaurant has a nice dining area with large TVs. Lots of parking, which is always a plus.“

“Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.“

“Really phenomenal high quality sushi. They had some really wonderful, unique and delicious vegetarian options that were just as elegant and beautifully presented as the fish options. My husband who loves fish said his meal was some of the best sushi he ever had. We'll definitely be back!“

“One of my fav sushi spots in Pasadena & I’d say we only have about 3 or 4 of them. I’ve been in 3 times so far and I’ve always had the same server, she’s really friendly and attentive. The Chirashi lunch special (in photo) is spectacular! The fish is so fresh and when you open up the bottom compartment, there are pickles and some other fish bits bits (?) inside. It really is so good and if you love fish, you CANNOT go wrong w this order. It’s also a very generous portion. This is probably something I’ll stick to because when I tried their rolls I wasn’t nearly as impressed. Their rolls were good but nothing memorable. I’ll continue to go back and order sashimi and the chirashi bowl though.“

“Ok. So I have to start out by saying im not a big fan of sushi. Im your typical California roll or fried sushi. Having said that this place changed the way I think about sushi! I always wondered how real Japanese sushi would taste and I have a feeling this place is certainly close to that. I had recently watched a documentary on Netflix and how this one place in Japan you just trust the chef to serve you delicious 😋 sushi! Well this is place does the same and boy it doesn't disappoint. I've never had salmon melt in my mouth like that or had sushi rice taste sooo good. And the ginger ! Thats real stuff

“Love this place so much. Their sushi is always so fresh and love the flavor profiles they choose. My favorite rolls/sashimi there is the citrus forward specialty rolls. The lime roll is my absolute fav there. I recommend making a reso for dinner bc it's usually busy but for lunch you can usually get right in. Parking is a bit of a hassle because of the trader Joe's so close so residential parking is the move.“

I have never had to wait for a table and the service is direct, and courteous. they provide incredible ginger that they will refill throughout your meal, so go crazy, it’s addictive. and the wasabi. freshly grated, sweet, fluffy, this is the real deal.
my favorites are the sweet shrimp, the uni served with hokkaido and santa barbara side by side, the halibut, and red snapper. but it’s all very very good.

Started with fatty Tuna that melted in my mouth so fresh delicious then moved on to giant Clams (Mirugai) it was sweet & crunchy I could have gone for second order not many sushi restaurants have (Mirugai)The fatty belly Salmon was buttery & the spicy Tuna hand roll sashimi was perfect coz I’m a spicy food addict it was just heavenly for me. Yum yum 🤤 ended with Kumamoto Oyster 🦪 it was so sweet like cotton candy in your mouth made me wanting more which I did order more. “Okay I don’t even know where to start but my experience at Morihiro was amazing. It was actually my second time but it gets even better and better. Coming from Japan, it is SO HARD to find good sushi overseas. Sure there are so many Michelin sushi restaurants here in LA but Morihiro is not even comparable- first Shari ( sushi rice ) is ANOTHER LEVEL. Quality of Shari is so important to make good sushi but he actually spent 25years to look for specific rice - Rice here is not just a decoration but it plays important role for the sushi. And appetizers!!! He likes to mix both Japanese traditional dish and local ingredients. It was amazing. A lot of sushi restaurants don’t care about appetizers but they just care about golden flakes or caviar lol But his dish is so delicious and there is a meaning behind. Also service was top notch! They don’t even speak Japanese but they knew the details of regions or seasonal ingredients. Can you even imagine how hard would it be to learn every single name of fish or vegetable in different language? I have huge respect for all the chefs and servers. It was AMAZING. You will NOT regret it. I can guarantee as a Japanese foodie from Japan!!!!!!“

“Last minute decision to grab a few rolls and we were happy to be able to try Ichijiku Sushi. No wait or line on a Tuesday night which meant we got great service as one of the few people in at that time. We tried the spicy tuna with crunchy rice, a yellowtail hand roll, salmon nigiri, and negitoro & scallion cut hand roll. Favorite was the negitoro hand roll, great quality and delicious, simple flavor. I wasn’t wow’ed by the yellowtail handroll and found the seaweed not very crunchy making each bite a little harder to chew. Fish quality was great though! Glad we got to try this smaller neighborhood joint.“

The yuzu albacore and spicy scallop hand rolls were so fresh and stood out. Chef Joab made every roll and nigiri we ordered to perfection and was very friendly, making the experience memorable! “Hidden gem of an authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi market. The entrance is located in the back of a side driveway. Though this market is small, I carries fresh sushi, sashimi trays ready to eat. Plus they have a kitchen made to order & ready to cut sashimi at your request. I'm also amazed to see the varieties of different raw fish, uni from Santa Barbara and raw scallops; all at reasonable prices.
They also carry cute Japanese stationary, frozen and regular food items. Definitely this is a place I heartily recommend.“

“I’ve got to give credit where it’s due — Yunomi in Toluca Lake is killing it. From the moment you sit down at the bar, the energy’s just right. The staff moves quick, but you never feel rushed, and every roll hits fresh.

The Yunomi Special is a must — spicy albacore, shrimp tempura, a little crunch, and that truffle soy… unreal. Blue Crab, Soft Shell Crab, Negi Toro — they’re all solid. Even the crispy rice apps are worth the trip on their own.
