“Cozy, family owned cafe, that I cannot recommend enough if you’re in town or passing through Lafayette. You will not find any place with better freshly baked scones on this side of the tunnel. They are baked every morning, and if you come in early enough, they might still be warm. Each batch comes out with the most perfect fluffy interior, with a crisp exterior crust. No hockey pucks here! The photo doesn’t do it justice because I couldn’t hold back eating it before posting. The chai tea is a house made blend, with all organic ingredients. Try it as a latte with a shot of espresso. It’s so much better than the chai syrup concentrated drink you get at Starbucks, and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. This is the best place to stop by before walking the reservoir, before/after your trader joe’s run, or to sit down and catch up with a friend over coffee or boba tea(also incredibly fresh and chewy boba). Not to mention, it’s a great study spot you can sit and study at all day. They now offer breakfast burritos and sandwiches, which makes this place even better than all the competing chain coffee shops in the area. The owner, Apple, is one of the hardest working people you will ever meet, and so kind and welcoming.“

“What a delightful place to stop and grab a delicious empanada or a boba drink. I just love the chicken adobo empanadas. The pastry is fresh, flaky, and crispy. The lightly spicy chicken and potato filling is tender and savory. So good. Be sure and try the house-made sweet chili sauce as well. For dessert, try the mango cheese cake empanada. It is tangy, fruity, rich with cream cheese and topped with a sugar-glazed crust. The prices are very affordable too!“

“Reminds me so much of the good ‘ol days of QUICKLY’s. “Drinks are good. However there are two things they can improve on. First, is cooking the tapioca pearls longer. The pearls is overly chewy. It should be soft and chewy. Second, the creme for the matcha smoothie should be fresh. However the creme tastes like the fridge, it seems like the creme has been sat in the fridge uncovered or with poor sealant but also the creme taste artificial. I really love matcha smoothie in general, I always order it in any boba shops, however I haven’t been ordering from this boba shop because the creme taste off.“

“Stopped in at Christmas Eve as everything nearby was closed. Unfortunately I still had last minute shopping to do and got a caffeine headache.

The coffee was surprisingly really good. I definitely recommend this place. The two women who seemed to run it were incredibly kind.“

“I had no idea they have a MandRo Teahouse in Alameda but I'm glad it does. I normally go to the ones in Fremont and Milpitas so I know that people come here for Bingsoo (Korean shaved ice). Although it's using Korean name but I'm fairly certain the owner is actually Chinese. The shaved ice here is extremely fine and as a result super smooth and delicious. I prefer this over the coarse Hawaiian shaved ice.

My favorite is the matcha or original flavor but a lot of people seem to order the mango one.

This location seems to be much less crowded than the other places and has more seating as well. However parking can be a pain because of limited street parking and its location. You order through the kiosk and just wait for the number to be called.“

“This place has surprisingly good fried chicken wings. The breading is crispy and has this great crunch just get that sauce on the side(korean style is my personal favorite). The chicken they use is also fresh and comes out juicy.
The drinks are also good and you can ask them to adjust the sweetness.“

i went to QTea Bar for the first time and honestly - ITS NOT BAD FOR A PERSON WHO ONLY HAS $10 AT THE MOMENT LIKE ME.

basically, its a small place - however they offer a lot of items on their menu! the one on the picture is the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba, which costed $7 dollars (I DROPPED MY JAW AT THE PRICE, BUT ITS FINE I GUESS?)

i chose Normal sweetness level and was expecting a nice sugar level, but was instantly kicked with a flavor that felt like 10 spoons of sugar on my mouth😭💔

i suggest letting it dilute for a little bit and drinking it, because the sugar really was kicking me 🫩

im used to the “normal” amount if sugar level since im a sugar-tooth, but if youre an adult, i suggest 50-75% sugar - also the toppings (boba, etc) are $0.50 — which is an okay price

the employees are super nice, they only had 2 people working at the time i was there - so i believe its a small business run by them

“This is my first time being in Alameda, California 94501. The drink was good. And the person who greet me and my boyfriend was nice to us. The wait wasn’t that long not to me. I like the music that they played. I ordered strawberry matcha latte with no ice due to me wearing braces. And I order strawberry shortcake for my boyfriend. And we both love it a lot. “My husband and I just spent two weeks visiting Oakland and we discovered Gelato Firenza (near Grand Lake Theate) one week into our trip. Once we did we made a special trip there every day, and one day even went twice! It’s the best gelato we’ve tasted anywhere, and we’ve been all over.

We first had gelato 40 years ago in Rome and were delighted as it became increasingly popular all over the world. We’ve tried it in many places, but this is our favorite.

We learned that it’s all natural, no additives, and made on the premises daily by the owner, who is so devoted to getting the flavors just right that she often spends four or more days perfecting them.

We love the fact that it’s not overly sweet, so you can really taste the underlying flavors (and feel good about it having less sugar). They’re very generous about allowing you to taste before ordering, and the prices are excellent.

Our favorites were: hazelnut, salted caramel, strawberry and rose (which was so unique and delicious!) Others we tasted and loved included Earl Grey, Matcha, coconut, almond, Dulce de Leche, and cookies and cream, but every flavor we tried was truly delicious.

For reference I have only written two other reviews in my life: one about my dog’s veterinarian, and one about a hotel in Thailand. But this gelato is so special and the owner so delightful I had to pass the word on.

The ramen is amazing and all of their food is great and delicious, but the prices aren’t very friendly this is great and if your willing to spend money like you would be in a restaurant with a waiter and all then this place is great (the food is great!!!) but I say save your money and just get the boba and get food somewhere else. Still love this place to bits though! Restrooms have been closed for a while though if you really need to go just ask one of the workers and they might let you use the restroom.“
