The detail that made this our favorite anniversary was the handwritten card we received with our complimentary dessert. The words that were written felt so genuine and warm that it almost brought the both of us to tears . Felt like one of our parents wrote it . “A traditional Americanized Chinese restaurant located in Laguna Beach, established in 1984, it has been a local favorite for years. The lunch menu is affordable around $15 per dish which includes fried rice, fried wonton, and fried chicken wing as sides. I ordered the house special beef and it was tender, sweet and tangy. The service was pretty good. We came with a big group of ~15 people on Saturday and they sat us down in the side room so we can have our own space.“

“Small, quaint Thai restaurant. Because the restaurant is small, they have limited seating. I was able to get a table quickly because it was after the dinner rush hour. Service was quick, and friendly. They have a good selection of traditional Thai dishes. Prices are high, probably because of location. I ordered Penang Curry with chicken. I requested additional vegetables, and was accommodated with a small up charge. The price for the dish was 20,00 and with the upcharge came to 23.00 It was served on a plate as opposed to a bowl, which I'm used to at most Thai restaurants. It was nicely presented, and came with jasmine rice, however, I could tell right away, it didn't have enough curry sauce for my liking. I ended up asking for more sauce because there just wasn't enough. It was also on the thin side. One way they can improve the dish is by serving it in a nice size bowl, and giving more sauce. I also think the the sauce could be a tad thicker. Making these adjustments would make the dish much better. Their sauce is very good, though the dish needs double or more of the curry sauce than it currently comes with. I also ordered desert, an inexpensive pudding. 3.00 and it was delicious. With tax and tip, my bill was just over 34.00 Street or lot parking can be difficult during busy times.“

“I ordered the ramen tofu because there normal ramen was a combination of tonkotsu broth with pork and chicken.
Since I don't eat pork, it had to be the tofu one, which is really sad for me. I was expecting them to add chicken to it, but they couldn't, so I had to order a chicken lolipop on the side, which was actually pretty good.
So if you don't like/eat pork it's gonna be hard for you in there but otherwise the ramen tofu was good but I didn't want to eat tofu because I don’t like it but chicken but like I said I had no choice but to order it.“

“This wonderful little restaurant is the gem of South Laguna. if you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop by and try it out! The food is delicious and they offer a wide variety of dishes. I've been going there with my wife for over 20 years and never once had a bad meal. Papa's is also one of the best take outs in Laguna Beach“

“I love Maro's! As a local, this is my go-to spot for fresh, healthy dishes like the green beans and shishito peppers. The empanadas, especially the mushroom ones, are delicious. While I enjoy most of the entrées on the menu, my favorite is the bone-in filet—super yummy! The owners and staff are always on duty and aim to please, making you feel like family. The ambiance is great too, whether you choose to sit indoors or outdoors. For a more intimate setting, sitting indoors is perfect, but if you want to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze, the outdoor patio is the way to go.“

“We had a fantastic dinner at Mozambique visiting Laguna Beach last night. The decor was interesting and unique. We ordered samosas(delicious) for our appetizer and for our entrees we had the shrimp scampi with Mozambique rice and peri-peri sauce (delicious) and Seafood Malay Curry with rice(outstanding) and for dessert Portuguese Pudding(great) Our server Mariana was friendly and took good care of our needs. She made recommendations with a nice smile. We are sure to be back when we visit Laguna Beach again. Good food and service,“
