“Rude and your order is never right. What a shame to be the only place open for a person like me. Who works till 2am and on the regular gets screwed over by a franchise restaurant. Spoke to the manager a few times and unfortunately was uncooperative , unbelievably rude and condescending. It amazes me how some people are in the fast food industry. If you can’t stand the heat. Get out of the kitchen.“

“This place is amazing. My family and I eat here at least twice a week. We get the plates and were able to feed the whole family for an affordable price and it’s always delicious. This is one of the best taco shops in all of La Mesa, hands down. Great quality, affordable prices, no wonder it’s always busy.“

“Ordered: Shrimp Burrito, Beef Taco's, side of beans and they were Excellent (The shrimp burrito, I've never gotten a better one)
The red chili salsa they serve with their food, also excellent. Service was friendly and efficient on a called in order.
Atmosphere... It's all about the tacos and the tacos were mighty good.
Everything was packaged very well. It's easy to serve at home and still quite delicious. If there's a better small Mexican restaurant in area, I don't know what it would be... So I'm saying this one is the best one. This restaurant is Cash Only fyi.“

“Classic San Diego taco shop with the same quality and good service for over 20+ years. My favorite is the pollo asado burrito (no pico) but their TJ tacos and menudo are great too. Haven't been disappointed with this place ever. Please visit when you can!“

“Been coming here regularly for years. Food is delicious. Portions are great. Service fantastic (Shout out to Bryan for his infectious positivity!). The walk-up window, late close times, and outdoor seating area makes for a convenient dinner and a great incentive to go for a walk. I'd recommend a breakfast burrito!
Had a single mistake in my 20+ orders that I didn't notice until I got home (It was still a VERY delicious mistake!) and unbeknownst to me they recognized the mistake themselves and set aside a note to comp that item for us the next time we arrived, which wasn't necessary but absolutely appreciated.

“I only put a five so you could see this they don’t got no birra it’s just meat and corn tortilla no hint of red not even fried comes with no dipping sausage they hot sauce taste like tomatoe soup with a little spice don’t go here add food don’t even know how they have almost 5 rating want a good place go to el gordo on convoy and get some real birria“

“This place is awesome. The have a wide variety of options and we went with the birra sope, birra ramen and the birra tacos. Our little guy got the cheese quesadilla. The portions are generous and the gentleman behind the register, I assume the owner, was super friendly and nice. I’d definitely come back here again. Top notch.“

“Really love the Queso Birria & El pastor tacos! Looking forward to trying all the tacos and other plates. Wishing them much success, been there twice now and have not been disappointed at all. The meat quantity fills me up on two tacos, well worth the wait and costs. I have had more expensive tacos and been disappointed and still hungry. Not the case here. Support local taco shops! David's Tacos is on my must have list!“
“Maria is the best! We hired Tacos El Gabacho for my wife's grad school graduation party and we can't wait to recommend her and use her again! She came and set up her taco trailer in our front yard and everyone loved her homemade tortillas, carne asada, pollo asada and al pastor. Awesome food and service!“
“I am not going to lie but those Birria quesa-tacos and the consomé uff hit on the spot ???????????????? best birria!!! The service is perfect, they treat you really well, This my new to go spot when I am craving birria 10/10.

“I love getting carne asada fries from here. The lady cashier is fantastic and I always appreciate it when she takes my order. I was hesitant to get Mexican food from Lakeside but Sarai's turned me into a believer, so now I come here exclusively for my CAF. Highly recommend!!“
