“Decided to try Tin on a whim and was not displeased. One of the best Banh-mi in town with very generous portions of meat. Grilled Pork did the trick, charred, flavorful, I definitely recommend.
It’s pricey ~$15 for a Banh-mi but totally worth it. Expect to wait ~5-8 minutes if you come during lunch time!“

“Before today I was certain that there were no good Vietnamese restaurants in Marin. Then I tried Pho. What a find.
Very simple basic menu, but everything was perfect. Flavorful, fresh, generously sized, good service. Everything was right. We are talking San Francisco - San Jose level of excellence for Vietnamese food. I used to think you had to go to the City to find great Vietnamese food, But now we have it local here in San Rafael. The other Vietnamese restaurants around town can't even compare. This restaurant is now on my short list. Coming back. Five star.“

“We used to eat here almost weekly when my son (20+ yrs ago) was in school then our schedule changed. We drove by and remembered how delightful our dinners were and ordered take away. It was better than we recalled! My husband and I shared their hot and sour seafood soup. It is packaged in three parts so everything is fresh when you’re ready to eat. My husband had the fried chicken and I had fresh rolls. We have enough for a couple more dinners—the portions are generous and everything is so fresh. Being able to heat and assemble the soup is a great help—we can tailor our bowls to our preferences and each bowl is as fresh as when we brought it home. Service is polite and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Can’t wait to start up our tradition again.“

“Every time we plan to go to San Francisco for a trip, my dad gets so excited about having a meal at this place because of some really good Chinese food in San Francisco. This is my dad’s cherry on top place in the city.“

“Tin is an economical Vietnamese lunch place catering to the local corporate crowd with delicious food available as rice, soup pho, and other entrees with fast service and reasonable prices.
Went in for lunch as I was in the area. Order BBQ pork with rice, and a bit of spicy chili on the side. The pork is sliced very thin, and nicely grilled. When dipped in the supplied sauce with a bit of tang, plus some of the picked veggies, it's a good combination of tastes.
The place is semi-self-serve. You order the combo you want, sit down, and when it's ready they'll bring it to your table.
Ordered BBQ pork over rice, plus a diet coke (can) plus tax and tip (18%) came out to be about $24, which is pretty reasonable for lunch.
They can also provide bahn mi (sandwich) and pho (noodle soup) if you prefer your food in those forms.“

“Great lunch spot if you work in the financial district. It's everything you'd expect from an Asian mom and pop shop. Quick, delicious, decently priced food. Even during the lunch rush you're able to be seated and served quickly as long as you don't mind sitting with other single diners.
To those complaining about the service, it's clearly not a fine dining restaurant, so y'all should keep your expectations down and you'll be good.“

“Cash only place that has amazing pork liver stir fry. Perfect texture and taste. The wontons are good, and so are the noodles, but the broth is bland. Does not have any of the taste of the iconic fish umaminess. I’d go for a mix between the beef brisket and an order of pig liver.“

“I’ve never been to Korea so can’t say if it’s authentic, but the tteokbokki is better than all other places in SF that serve this delicious dishIt still has a kick for the non-spicy level but I think it’s what makes it great. Awesome flavor, nice thick sauce. Warmed me up on a really cold day.Pairs really well with Soju. I’m going to be ordering this a lot going forward.Ordered through Uber Eats so going to try and eat it at restaurant next time with the extra cheese.“

“We came here to try the bbq fried rice. They are called a dim sum cafe but people who were eating here seemed to be ordering more a la carte/entree type dishes.
It looked like your typical restaurant in the area. Nothing fancy but pretty busy. Our bbq fried rice was fresh and tasty. Simple but satisfying and reasonably priced.“

“Really great clay pots with plenty of delicious crispy rice. The ox tail was also very tasty. The eel clay pot was a little wormy for some of us but still tasty. Again, the star is the crispy rice.
Has gotten somewhat popular so we had to wait quite a while. Not much room for a stroller.“

The coconut was perfect too.
Will have to come back and try different ones.

“I only write this because I am a biased Vietnamese person but every so often I get a hankering for food from my culture, and I find myself at this restaurant because it's close by to me and open until ~9 PM.
The staff here are all so nice and welcoming, speak a fair bit of Vietnamese, and make some mean, delicious food.
My go-to is always the rare beef pho of the largest size (XL); with beef so tender and yummy when dipped in a sriracha-hoisin mixture, rich broth chock full of herbs and flavor, and thin vermicelli noodles that have soaked up yummy broth. Can't go wrong with the pho if you're simple!
The egg rolls are also great! They come with some cold vermicelli, crushed peanuts, lightly pickled carrots, and lettuce leaves large enough for you to eat as a veggie wrap or standalone, with a light and very flavorful fish sauce dipping sauce.
Lastly, they have a very rich, intense Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Pure liquid gold--this stuff will keep you up all night! Some of the best-made ones in the city in my opinion.
A little tight on the inside but feels pretty cozy and intimate. I don't recommend it if you're a huge party of like 10+ but anything smaller they have space for, or can try their best to accommodate.
Come visit here, whether for business or if you're looking for good eats, I recommend this place. If you're a picky, judgy person though, your expectations are too high for a hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese eatery; go criticize a fancier place.“

“So...July 4, 2025. I was hastily looking for something to do that would keep me and my girlfriend away from the crowds but still have the vibe of the SF Bay experience. After living here for most of our lives, we still love the Bay so we’re always looking to engage with it in new ways. Then I remembered that there were a couple of restaurants that I had not been to on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate. I called Sula, and could not get through to a human, so, I took a chance that we might show up an hour before dark and get dinner, maybe walk down and see SF fireworks or just take a walk. I know, a little crazy to think that might work. Sula met and exceeded expectations in a number of ways. First, I was right to arrive by 7pm....the train of cars/people who followed seemed endless, but, they were not coming for dinner, just fireworks, so we got to Sula with no parking problems, we we’re greeted kindly, got a table outdoors, delicious cocktails off their specialty menu, a great dinner with perfect portions and flavors (but remember, we are Californians, so, your ideas might be different) and a magical evening. We just listened to the fireworks as trees were in our way, but, we did not care as our view of the environs, the marina district and the bridge were divine. Then after dinner, we had a easy stroll to the pier and bridge while we waited for the firework folk to go home. Sula is a lovely place with food well prepared and a location that puts you at ease and in awe. Wether you are a resident or a visitor, you’ll appreciate what is on offer here. Thanks for a great evening.“

Some of my favorites are Bun Canh Cua (Crab 🦀 meat udon noodle soup), Bo Tai Chanh (Beef Carpaccio), Beef Pho, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Salad, Shrimp Rolls, Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Pancake), Pork & Eggroll Rice Vermicelli salad, Porkchop Rice with fried egg, Bun Bo Hue, 5-spice chicken over rice, fresh coconut, Vietnamese Coffee, Avocado Smoothie, Coconut Tofu & Mixed Veggies, and iced lemonade. “The VN grill has never failed me. I just tucked into a perfect pork chops and rice dish- excellent seasoning on the chops (2), and they were perfectly grilled ($16.95). I've had pho here many times, always good. And the service was great as usual. The server brought an extra glass of ice water as I was about to finish my first (it was HOT out!)“

“Saw this place in Instagram and pinned it to my list to go to in Chinatown.
The menu is extensive and has a little bit for everyone’s craving for the day. You know it’s a good sign when you walk in and you hear the uncs and aunties yappin. It just means this place is authentic !
The Satay Beef Noodle soup was great. It has a spice in it I can’t pinpoint, but it made it unique to any other beef noodle soup I’ve had. I was expecting a taste closer to bun bo hue, but no it’s something different. Still very tasty! The cucumbers innit was a surprise and it worked very well.
The chicken wings came out piping hot and crunchy. The chicken itself didn’t have much flavor tho.
The chow fun is something I’d order again. The beef was cooked with a Smokiness flavor to it.
This spot accepts card for payment, so I am happy that I didn’t have to pull money at an ATM. The staff is very friendly and can give recommendations“

“We ordered the Iced Lemon Honey Tea and the Vegetarian Dumplings. The tea was absolutely delicious. It was so refreshing. The vegetarian dumplings were so beautiful and tasted amazing. It was so fascinating that when you bit into them, you could taste each individual ingredient as if it was freshly placed on your plate while also complimenting the dumpling shell. We drove from the coast, closer to San Diego to visit for an impromptu adventure. The ambience was clean and welcoming. They were incredibly kind and quick to assist when we needed it. We are so thankful to them for sharing their dumplings.“

“Authentic chinese food from the taishan region. If you’re looking for orange chicken, maybe keep scrolling. And the “bad service” honestly is just the charm of authentic asian dining (although still p good imo) and you know you’re here for the flavors and not for the hand-holding.“

“Food is pretty average. Not too many options nearby, so it does fulfill Thai food cravings once in a while. Little pricey for the quantity. The sauce in the pumpkin curry was way too watery! Would skip that dish! The price is certainly for the location, not for the food. For better quality and reasonable price a little drive south or even downtown San Rafael would be a better option.“
