“A new Pinoy food place in Chula Vista area. The location is a bit more isolated from commercial areas. The dining area is a lil bit smaller but it feels good and comfortable to eat those meals freshly prepared when they served up to you. I ordered TAPSILOG, which is a combination plate of beef tapa, sunny side up egg and garlic rice. The beef tapa is very tender and very garlicky. AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! For dessert, I have buko Pandan. Creamy and sweetly flavored. Super like it! Both food were served about 15 minutes and the staff has offered more choices on their menu. Staff is very friendly and helpful to recommend their best seller amongst the food choices on their menu. I am happy that there are more Filipino restaurants popping out in Chula Vista. Another place for Filipinos to pig out and enjoy! Highly recommended to everyone. Will come back to this place soon to try more of their food in the menu.“
“First time at this cafeteria style restaurant. First time to eat Filipino food. Had different dishes including fried fish, roasted lechon, lechon in a sauce, noodles, rolls, rice, others. A great experience. Inside a Filipino / Asian Supermarket, so parking is available.“
“Very good Asian inspired bowls. The pork belly bowl with rice was good and the umami gravy on top was delicious. I got delivery and the bowl was still fresh and hot. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.Update: the chicken karaage bowl wasn't that good after sitting for a while but I bet it's good when it's fresh and crisp at the restaurant“
“My favorite here is Chicken Adobo. It's authentic. So delicious!!! There's always a long line here but service is fast and friendly. I dined in and ordered extra food to go because it cost me $12 gas money round trip to come here. It's worth it.“
“Great atmosphere, very close to balboa park! This place offers free cold brew if you purchase some of their bags of coffee beans or grounds which is very nice! They also have cold brew growlers to go. The main downside is sometimes parking can be hard to find nearby but definitely available within a block or two and then the noise from the planes going overhead. There’s also a quaint courtyard to enjoy your coffee outside that I don’t have photos of, we’ll definitely be stopping here more frequently in the future on our way home from the park!“
“This place seems popular for parties that like karaoke. I tried calling to order my food togo, but i could not get an answer. I wanted to hate the place, but the food was really good. I got the sisig, garlic fried rice, and pancit. I will be back for the sisig and garlic rice for sure.“
“I like this place the portions are hugh, i wished they used better meat for there carne asada. The last burrito i got was a California burrito the meat was like chewing on leather for 17 dollars yes 17 dollars for one burrito you should be able to chew it. Hopefully they step up they're quality of beef and then they will be the best place in town“
“Fredcel's is bomb. Takeout only and cash just heads up. Parking can be terrible but the food is worth it. The lumpia is amazing and I've never had anything I didn't like. They used to have blood soup which was sooo good but it's never around anymore. Super friendly people and you're in and out real quick.“
“White Rice Bodega offers a delightful taste of authentic Filipino cuisine that captures the essence of both tradition and innovation. My recent experience at this joint left a lasting impression, showcasing a fusion of flavors that evoked memories of home-cooked meals yet brought a modern twist to the table.I had Tocino Manok, and the chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful! Love the up egg on top to blend into the garlic rice.Definitely will be back to try more on the menu!“
“Best Lumpia in town! Must Try! Spencer does an amazing job merging a family staple with new & tasty creations. The Lola's lumpia, Calamansi wings, pancit and peach cobbler lumpia (Wow!) were all 5 stars. Can't wait to come back for dinner.“
“I'm so happy I was able to try this place out. I ordered before sitting at the bar, and I was so excited to finally try someone else's sinigang wings. (I've tried to make it three times now.) The wings definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered garlic rice with it and pandesal, and it was a beautiful combination. I also loved that I was able to get calamansi juice. So delicious.“
“Prices went up since few years and before covid. Before I remember they're only 1 dollar but now it's $1.95 per stick if you go to the place itself if it's delivery via ubereats or doordash is $2.30. Everything's good plus the staff are very friendly. I feel very welcomed.“
“My dad and I tried this place. Great customer service! We told them that it was our first time as they have a lot of choices on their menu. My dad and I shared the dinuguan and fried crispy salmon. The taste of the food was great. We bought other items too like kutsinta, polvoron, chicharon, turons, and taho. All of them were good as well. Will have to come back and taste their other food! FYI...the place is small so they might run out of tables and chairs if you were planning to eat there during their busy times.“
“I tried their Chicken Empanada. It is good but pls reduce the sugar and make it less sweet.I came on 11/3/23 around 2:30pm. The service from the woman behind the counter was good. She was fast and nice. Next time I will ask for her name. Customer Service is so important so customers will keep coming back. It costs me $12 in gas money round trip to drive to National City. It is worth it because of good customer service and good empanadas.“
“Especially if you visit on the weekends, you’ll be able to find fresh-out-of-the-oven hopia (filipino pastry that reminds me a bit of mooncakes but less sugary) that are simultaneously crisp, crunchy, buttery, and flaky on the outside, with moist and creamy fillings spanning ube (purple yam), pineapple, jackfruit, coconut, sweet onion, and mung bean. The combination of quality, freshness, and breadth of pastries—not to mention, price (<$1 each)—cannot be beat!“
“Everytime I crave pilipino foods, I send my husband to place my order & bring my food home to me. Their foods is very delicious & I am always very satisfied. I can cook both filipino & Chamorro (Guam)foods but some times when I'm too tired or I am ill & can't cook, but I want to eat quickly, Kababayan Restaurant is the place to go. Thank You at "Salamat Po" for making your restaurant & delicious filipino foods available to our Community. Masarap talaga!! RS (El Cajon, CA.)“
“My wife and I went there to try the cheese balls and they not disappoint! They were a great balance of sweet and salty. Fast service and good selection. This will def be a place I will go whenever I'm in the area and want cheese balls!“
“We called ahead of time to make certain they would still be open at 7:30. They said yes so we came to try it out.We had the grilled daing bangus . It is a grilled milkfish with a mango salsa. It was wonderful! We also tried some sushi. They are not a sushi restaurant.“
“Cute little coffee shop with a solid outdoor vibe. We typically stop here at the end of the farmer's market. Folks are friendly but a little standoff-ish at first. Probably due to the wandering crazy folks that wander around the 'hood. But it's a cute little joint on the corner of the building.“
“Nothing better than an iced dessert on a hot day. They have different options to choose from -- customizable ice cream flavors, no bean options, etc. I chose to get the one with all the toppings and pandan ice cream! It was so refreshing and delicious. They also sell hot food and snacks, and they have tables located inside to sit and enjoy the food.“
“Easily one of the best Filipino Restaurants in SoCal! They serve authentic home-made tasting Filipino food. Service is excellent and they have an ice cream bar for my halo-halo lovers. Ambiance is very homey and family based. Looking forward to coming back again.“
“I came upon This taco shop while waiting for my ride when my car broke down! The staff was friendly the food was a very pleasant surprise!I had the pollo street tacos chips and guacamole.Very good!!If I'm ever in the area I will eat there again I can't wait to try the Filipino side of the menu!“
“The food is freshly prepared and not like typical Filipino cantinas where you point at the food, which has been out for awhile. Their bowls have the right amount of rice, meat and veggies. Well balanced meal and not greasy. Highly recommended for a modern feel of traditional Filipino food. We need to make Filipino food match the modern times. So happy too that it's near my home and not all the way in Clairemont or Mira Mesa.Parking: No problem with parking even during a rainy day.“
“Villa Manila is an exceptional restaurant known for its high-quality food and service. The ambiance is both ambient and relaxing, making it a delightful dining experience. The food consistently exceeds expectations, and the staff provides excellent service. It's always a pleasure to dine here, given the great food and attentive staff, especially their authentic Filipino dishes.“
“A really nice hang out spot! Natural breeze, perfect sunlight or shaded seating whichever you prefer, multiple different shops to choose from food wise, every stall has its own little selection of different stuff! The workers are respectful and kind, and they always give some good recommendations. Parking is easy depending on the time of day you go! Serving time is pretty quick and every stall gives u a buzzer sounded you don’t have to stand while you wait.Parking: Depending on what time you go during the day will decide if there is parking or not. Be understanding and reasonable with what time you go. It’s a food hub.“
“What a delightful & delicious addition to the Grossmont's FoodCourt Center !!! This eatery spot only opens 2 days a week and the rest of the days you can catch them at a Farmers' market! so catch them whenever you can! Don't miss out on what they have to offer! The 2 entrees my husband and I ordered were flavorful and well seasoned. We both finished and left our boxes emptied and cleaned . The owner did an exceptional job by making sure if we had any food allergies when taking our orders. This is something that rarely happens where business owner take the cautious and careful step to ask and make sure customers are safe. So we really appreciated that very much! We can't wait to come back and catch you on the days the eatery spot opens! A MUST TRY!!!! :D“
“I was going out of town and purchased this lumpia for them and they loved it. It was homemade and wonderful. There was one left when I got home the next day out of the 50 I bought. We will definitely use them again.Thank you for feeding my family so well.“
