“What an amazing space and not to mention amazing wine to go with it. Sitting down for an afternoon tasting on the back patio was truly delightful, hands down best place to have a glass of wine or three in Los Alamos! After our vineyard trek, we sat in the recent homestead of James Ontiveros and tasted some very special Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and yes, even some Cabs from Native 9 / Ranchos de Ontiveros.I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy your day than spending it with Wes, along with a glass of wine, while he shares the rich and storied history of Santa Barbara wine country. “As someone always in search of the next adventure, I discovered one of my top five life experiences right here in Santa Maria at Presqu'ile Winery. And what better way to explore its spacious and enchanting grounds than on horseback?
From the moment you arrive, the winery captivates you. The winding road through the vineyard leads to a stunning, modern building. We were warmly welcomed, fitted with helmets, and guided down the property to meet our horses.
Now, let me preface this by saying I have an unreasonable fear of horses. But that didn’t faze our guide, who expertly introduced us to our horses and offered helpful riding tips. These horses, gentle and calm, seemed to truly enjoy their role as guides to the winery grounds. Their “day job” is training new riders—mostly kids.
My horse, Kicks, was a 30-year-old snuggler who immediately put me at ease. When I stopped petting him, he nudged my hand, asking for more affection. As we set off, Kicks patiently followed my commands, guiding me through the experience. Understanding my anxiety, our guide's mother, Sue, walked alongside us the whole time, helping me overcome a lifelong fear.
As we rode, we marveled at the rolling fields, mountains in the distance, and sightings of the coast just a few miles away. The rows of grapevines awaiting harvest gave us a glimpse of the future wine that would soon be tasted. After our ride, we were greeted with a crisp sparkling rosé—a perfect way to end the adventure and begin our wine tasting experience with a curated food pairing.
We returned to the winery, soaking in the views, and settled by the fireplace to sip wine and enjoy good conversation. Our server, a Santa Maria native, was incredibly knowledgeable about their wines, which included chardonnays, pinot noirs, and syrah. She explained the wine-making process in detail and presented a spread of delightful bites to pair with each wine—from a fresh salad with hand-picked fruits and vegetables grown on the property to handmade hummus and a whipped goat and feta spread. The food and wine pairings were an experience in themselves.
Our visit concluded with a tour through the winery's temperature-controlled cave, which stretches 60 feet underground, lined with barrels filled with aging wine. The tour ended on the terrace, where the breathtaking views once again left us in awe.
From start to finish, the entire experience was extraordinary. If this winery wasn’t on your bucket list before, it certainly should be now.“
“This winery is such a gem. The property is beautiful and the staff are so kind and accommodating. Originally I thought the cheapest tasting being $55/pp was a little steep but it’s a whole hour and an half experience, with a tour of the property. So worth it. There wasn’t a single wine I didn’t like. Will definitely be returning with friends!“

“This spot is in a lot with other wine tasting rooms and it’s a solid spot. This review is from a casual wine drinker.I just had their tasting that had about 6-7 wines and it was a solid set of offerings. The interior was very welcoming and the outside patio is a good spot to take a date. Tomi cellars was a beautiful end to a great day , Boyd is so passionate in his craft of wine making that his wine speaks for itself . “Unforgettable Experience at Babcock Winery!
I just went for my 40th birthday and had the pleasure of having Bryan Babcock take us into the Barrel Room for a tasting. It was SUCH a treat. Bryan is just out of this world knowledgeable, with so much experience making wine in the Valley - and a cool guy all around. It gave us all a deeper appreciation for the winemaking process and all of the hard work and detail that goes into it.
We then went into the tasting room and picked out one of the couch areas to sit and enjoy another tasting. Their staff is all exceptional, with not only sharing detail with each pour, but just made us feel like we were right at home.
Their tasting room is a VIBE!! I have never been there without buying some sort of cool jewelry or funky vintage item.
Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just looking to enjoy family/friend time and check out their rad spot, Babcock really does have it all.
Thank you Bryan, Lisa & Christina and all of the staff there for the years and years of great service & exceptional wine. You really have something VERY special there.

“I first visited in 2010 during a Stagecoach wine tour. Jeff and his wine were equally amazing. I joined his club that day and remain a member today.
We have since returned several times for tastings and visiting with the horses on his ranch. Each visit has been exceptional. This week we spent a night in the guest house, which is available for rent. The accommodations were excellent, and only overshadowed by Jeff and Joanne's hospitality and generosity. Jeff spent hours riding with my daughter and providing her with invaluable education and training.
If you are considering a wine tasting in Buellton or Solvang, you should go on a tour with Stagecoach and request a visit to Bella Cavalli. If you are looking for a great place to stay in the area, I cannot recommend Bella Cavalli more strongly.“
“I am a wine club member here. This place remains true to the term " boutique winery" the surrounding area of Santa Ynez is growing in tourist visits to all the wineries and vineyards. But Tres Hermanas Winery sits nestled adjacent Santa Ynez in Santa Maria. It is absolutely a peaceful, Serene, beautiful. I highly recommend the Pinot Noir ,Sangiovése and the Sadie Cuveé which are my favorites. The picnic area is ample, lush and with beautiful views of the Syrah Vineyards and surrounding mountains. It is for me one of the premier places for a tasting and picnic with out huge crowds which have been growing fast within this last year. Whoever is reading this, please check this place out.“
“The lady (manager, blonde hair) was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions pertaining to each of the wines sampled. She made the wine tasting memorable! 5 tastings at $10 per person. We sat outside on the patio because it was warmer than inside! This was a random stop for us on our way to the Bay Area but I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone not wanting to be one of many, but wanting more of a quiet and relaxing setting.“

“Stopped by Lofi Wines and instantly fell in love with the vibe. Super relaxed, welcoming space with vinyl spinning in the background and a beautifully curated tasting flight. Each wine had its own personality—easy-drinking, a little funky, and full of character.
You can tell they care about natural wine and creating a space that doesn’t feel pretentious. Bonus points for the great music and cozy indoor setup. Definitely one of my favorite tasting stops in Los Alamos. Can’t wait to come back and sip again.“
