the food is BOMB. the lady there is so sweet and helped me on a mandarin project freshman year of hs. love her so much. she is bilingual speaking both english and chinese 服务员可以说英文和中文。

the atmosphere is really chill but is still restaurant vibes it’s great for when i want to go with my friends

also SO AFFORDABLE (especially in comparison to the rest of downtown los altos)

“One of the first dates I had with my wife was here at Yoshi Sushi, and since then, it has become one of our favorite places.

I’ve eaten here many times over the years, and one thing that always makes me happy is the consistency. The food is always fresh, well prepared, and delicious. You can come back again and again and know you’re going to have a great experience.

Everyone who works here, from the owners and managers to the kitchen staff and the sushi bar team, is extremely friendly, organized, and professional. The sushi bar is always clean, and you can tell the team really takes pride in what they do. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of the food.

Annie, one of the lunch servers, is always friendly, happy, and very organized. She always makes the experience even better.

Yoshi Sushi has become a special place for my wife and me, and we always look forward to coming back. Great food, great people, and consistently great experiences. Highly recommended!“

“The vegan Curry Tan Tan Ramen is fantastic - packed with fresh veggies, excellent springy noodles, and a rich, hearty broth (heads up: it leans a little salty, but the flavor is spot on). It’s great to see a standout plant-based option executed this well.

Tucked inside State Street Market, the setup is upscale food hall style: order at the counter, pick up your tray, and bus your table when finished. The space has ample seating that works well for groups, and they do a fun job decorating for holidays (the ambient lighting and funky pumpkin setup for Halloween was a great touch). Convenient parking in the plaza lot out back makes it an easy stop. Highly recommended!“

“Oh my friends, this is the spot for amazing Ramen! I went all the way across the country for an accompanied business trip and was told I could not come to Palo Alto California and not stop in to Ramen Nagi. “Honestly, if you don’t eat pork, this is THE ramen spot for you. The chicken ramen was so good!!! it tasted like a homemade soup made with really good ingredients. Also, one of the best chicken karaages I’ve had in the Bay Area. The service was top-notch too. Exceptional overall!“

“I like the quality of their ramen. The portion, the thickness of the char siew and the onsen egg, delicious! If i can suggest one thing, it will the hotness of the soup. They have to serve it piping hot and it will be bring heaven to earth. We ate there today and the soup is just warm.. so maybe next time i visit here i hope they will make it more hot. Thanks!“

“Known for their hakata noodles or thin ramen noodles, the restaurant boasts the chicken paitan, with only 15 orders a day for the extra. It's a crispy chicken leg served separately and is filled with flavor that I highly recommend.

They also have this new protein ramen that incorporates all kinds of meat with zucchini noodles that I've heard is quite delicious and can't wait to go back and try!

“I really enjoyed the flavor profile at this place.

You are greeted warmly upon arrival; the space is neither large nor tiny. It is an open-concept restaurant (you can see the kitchen), and the place is bright and clean.

You order via a QR code, and the food arrives at your table quickly.

The portions are neither too big nor too small; I find them just right—whether you're really hungry or want to take some leftovers home for later.

I will definitely be back to try more of the menu (honestly, everything looks spectacular).“

“I came to Yugen Ramen in Mountain View on a Thursday evening and got the tantan ramen.

The tantan ramen was probably the best ramen I've ever had. The broth was very flavorful, and the spice level stood out the most. The toppings were good, the noodles were cooked well, and the chicken tasted really nice too. The portion was very good for the price, which made it incredibly satisfying.

It was pretty crowded, but we were seated right away. The guy who took our order was very friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and casual, and not too noisy.“

“Been here multiple times, great low key sushi spot, quality fish and good value, not super expensive. Service was good every time I've come. Quieter, more low key location as well, not on a busy street, parking is easy. Would recommend.“

“HiroNori makes a tasty bowl of ramen. I also ordered the pork buns and they were wonderful. When I got there it was about two PM and there was only one other customer at the restaurant. The service was wonderful. They provide tasty complimentary water that had fruit and berrys added to it. The tonkatsu ramen was really well made. The regular noodles were perfect. The egg was cooked perfectly. The chashu was too notch. I really liked this place and I would happily return the next time in in the area.“

“idk what happened to this place, but it used to be my go-to place for niku udon (the best comfort food ♡). the udon had the perfect texture and cane with the perfect amount of melty, buttery beef with a comforting broth.

when i called recently, they said that they were only serving oxtail :(“

“Amazing service. We had lunch there today. I ordered for the table and for one roll to go. When they brought the food the server realized they put two of the rolls in the to go box. And instantly said she’d have them make another for me to eat here and the second one was on the house. They also give free drinks when you dine in. They are wonderfully run!!!!“

“New restaurant in what used to be a great hole in the wall breakfast spot. Now it’s “high end” sushi in an old hole in the wall breakfast spot.

Prices are a bit higher than average but quality was standard. The chirashi ($40+) bowl was great with thoughtfully presented flavors but the mango tuna roll ($20+) had a piece of skin/tendon in every bite.

Service was doing the best they could during a busy dinner rush. They forgot one of our rolls entirely and tried to make that up to us.

They included miso soup and salad which I’m not sure is standard as it’s priced out separately in the menu.

Overall the price did not match the service and atmosphere, I understand we are in weird economic times but that made paying $20+ for a roll with chewy bits all the more disappointing.“

“This place deserves a higher rating!!!! Their rice bowls are phenomenal. The katsu curry is one of the best i've ever had and the tanin don had such a delicious flavor and texture. Super satisfying and clearly made with love and care. I actually feel disappointed when I go to other places and get katsu curry because it just isn't as great as here. Also the staff are so kind!!“

This restaurant has many chinese inspired dishes and it's great. It reminds me of going to a Chinese restaurant in Japan.

The charisu fried rice really hits a nostalgic spot and the gyoza are made spot on.“
