“During our trip to Santa Ynez, Refugio Ranch stood out as our favorite stop. Alex’s warm welcome and friendly service allowed us to sit back, relax, and enjoy.
The wines at Refugio ended up being our favorites of the entire trip. The world-class smash burger and lobster roll were welcomed additions to the experience as well. You must try the food if you go here on the weekend.
We went to Refugio 3 separate times during our stay! I cannot praise this establishment enough. Can’t wait to return on our next trip to the area.“
“We did the tour and tasting and it was a wonderful experience definitely recommend. Brett was very knowledgeable about the grapes, vineyards and wine making process. Would recommend the tour and tasting and am hoping to come back during harvest season“
“I think I just found the best tasting room in Los Olivos! Terre et Sang is my friends’ and family’s favorite winery in the SYV, and it’s now become mine too. Fantastic service, unforgettable wines, and such a warm experience offered here.
Each wine is exquisite. Do yourself a favor and try each at least once.
Theanna was our host and took such great care of us, dogs and baby included. The winemakers, Dalita and Duncan, were there during my visit and shared all about their process and backstory.
They were so welcoming to our party - we’ll always come back to Terre et Sang whenever we’re in town!“
“Hi I came in a a week or two ago and finally getting around to doing a review . I had the best time and Danielle was the best host, so glad we stopped in and got some red wine . I came in with a few others on the way to a comedy show ...I was performing in. I enjoyed the red wine and am thinking of getting a membership there. I'll be back when I'm in the area, which is regularly.!One of the better places I've been !“
“Wonderful way to pass the time with great friends and tasty wine. Our Buckeye reunion group spent a Saturday afternoon at a Future Perfect tasting. Sonny was the perfect host and did a great job educating us on what makes her wine stand apart from the others. We placed an order to enjoy at home. The delivery arrived quickly.
Shared a bottle of Savi B with family tonight. It was enjoyed by everyone.
If in the area, I highly recommend relaxing on the porch at Future Perfect with a glass, a bottle, or flight.“
“Phenomenal wines!. Blake is exceptional and knowledgeable and makes every trip there worthwhile. (They are appointment only.)“
“I had a great time last month at Holus Bolus. Amy has an exciting winemaking style that showcases the best of what the Santa Rita Hills can be. It was also great to hear about her experiences making wine and plans for the future of her brand.“
“Always fantastic here cheers!“
“We enjoyed your wines while visiting from South Carolina.“
“We had the opportunity to visit Grimm's Bluff and were blown away. We loved the private vineyard tour. The grounds were beautiful and we learned so much from Ashlyn as she introduced us to the property. The wine is STUNNING - unique and delicious, and different from SY valley. Ashlyn was a wonderful host and we can't wait to come back.“
“my very favorite place to drink wine. I've been coming here for well over 10 years and always look forward to coming back. It is by far the most relaxing place to just be. We have been members for most of those years and love their wine.“
“Love this place! Had a great experience with friends. That atmosphere is very relaxing. The wine is great!“
“Michael, the wine maker, hosted us, a group of 8, at the vineyard. We sat outside at a long outside table surrounded by the vines and grapes. As we tasted, we also walked around the vines, even got to taste the grapes since it was harvest season. All the wines we tasted were very lovely. We purposed several bottles to take back to Chicago with us. I would highly recommend visiting this beautiful vineyard with gorgeous views located in Los Olivos.“
“Excellent wine. We visited on Tuesday and Friday, and had both Sabrina and Noreen pour for us. Both made for a very informative, and enjoyable experience in a very relaxing setting. Just the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon.
Each of their Syrahs is quite excellent, and unique. They truly have some of the most fragrant noses I've ever experienced with wine. It's very apparent that they put a lot of individual attention into each of their bottlings.“
“Beautiful scenery, fabulous wines and charming hosts!“
“Toretti’s is a hidden gem with amazing wine. The owner, Pancho, always makes us feel at home and takes the time to get to know his visitors. A relaxed atmosphere makes you feel more like you’re in someone’s home rather than a tasting room. Torreti’s is a must-visit any time I’m in Los Olivos.“
“Good hotel and wonderful service“
“We became members we enjoyed it so much!“
“This is the E11even tasting room, which is Andrew Murray's second label. While Andrew Murray Vineyards is delicious and has some standouts, we both prefer E11even, and as a bonus - they're more affordable. Becoming a member here also gets you the member perks at Andrew Murray as well. The sauv blanc, petit syrah, petit verdot, and cab franc are all standouts.
Alice usually runs the tasting room solo, and she's awesome. Loads of info and always up for a friendly chat. Well worth stopping by!“
“So many places to choose from. How does one decide which one to go to.
Theoretically one can go to all of them- you need gumption or time or no driving later or a place to stay in LO or a lot of money or all of the above. Coming from far away Dubai, we had to choose one and we chose SoS- and we are glad we did. All the wines were very good- my favourite though was the Gamay. Very light and with an afterthought of a taste.
Alyssa (hope I got the name right) was amazing. Explained all the stuff about the wines. Very well travelled (best of luck traveling to Italy to try out the wines this time).
All wines in neutral oak. Enjoyed ourselves.
Highly recommended.“
“We had the best Wine Tasting experience ever. The place and vibe are just perfect for friends and family. One thing that is truly remarkable here is their service. I can feel the warmth and hospitality of the owner who is truly kind. I would definitely come back and recommend this winery. Kudos!“
“This is a smaller tasting room, but nicely laid back. Becca loves sharing what she knows about wine and learning about what works for YOU and why. Prolly would have gone home with a few bottles anyway but Becca made the experience even better. Plus they feature plenty of unusual varietals. Malvasia? Never even heard of it!“
“Try your skills at being wine maker for the day at Artiste! What a fun experience! Enjoyed learning about blending wine. Artiste has a unique approach to wine making starting with creative label artwork. The art defines the wine! I loved every ounce of the experience and was thrilled with Coterie’s second place rating in the blind taste test out of 30+ blends.“
“We discovered Dreamcote a few years back. The atmosphere and aesthetic are on point. They offer both sparkling and wine tasting. When being explained the wines as someone who is an average wine drinker, I can really level with the flavor notes being delivered. The wine here definitely stands out, Love the atmosphere here and would highly recommend this place over most.l“
“When making your list of wineries to visit when you're in town, don't forget Zach Mesa! I think on the Foxen road it's become one of my favorites to visit for both the wine and the relaxed atmosphere. I LOVE the Tread label. Specifically the Pinots are fantastic. I think the other one that I loved was the Z-Three. This place is very kid friendly and even have some chickens on site and a giant chess board. Very nice, relaxed place with fantastic wine!“
“Before we even started tasting, the owner came by with a bottle in his hand and gave us a free pour from his personal bottle. I was already sold at this point, but the wine happens to be top notch as well. Honestly some of the best stuff around here. The whites and reds were incredible, we bought 3 bottles.“
“Rooted in Flavor, Raised in Los Olivos
Some folks journey to cathedrals. I journeyed to Los Olivos, a tiny town with big wine energy, to pay homage at the altar of Liquid Farm where Pinot flows like poetry and Chardonnay whispers secrets only the vines know.
Our love affair with Liquid Farm began during the dark days of 2020, when we stumbled into a virtual tasting and were instantly transported. One sip of their Pinot and my wife and I were hooked like toddlers on juice boxes, only classier. We promised ourselves that someday we’d visit in person. On our West Coast road trip, we made that dream a reality and let me tell you, it was everything.
We arrived late morning, just before lunch, and the wine gods smiled upon us: we had the whole tasting room to ourselves. Sunlight poured through the windows like a warm embrace, casting golden halos on a room that felt equal parts boho greenhouse, vintage apothecary, and a HGTV fever dream. Potted plants dangled like chandeliers in Eden, earthy textures surrounded us, and the communal table beckoned like a wine-fueled campfire tale waiting to be told.
I took the Pinot path, each glass revealing a different mood, a different story from the SBC to the Fiddlestix, each more layered and lyrical than the last. My wife, ever the classy one, opted for a mix that included Chardonnay so fresh and mineral-driven, I briefly considered buying a vineyard just to thank the soil myself.
Our server? Part sommelier, part historian, part local legend. She walked us through the vineyard sourcing, the winemaking ethos, and even gave us tips for lunch in town which, by the way, featured Liquid Farm on the wine list.
We left with three bottles and a tote bag, floated off to lunch, then came back after our meal for one more bottle because sometimes you just need a liquid encore.
Verdict: Liquid Farm in Los Olivos isn’t just a tasting room, it’s a destination. We’ll be back. Probably with a bigger trunk. Five stars. Six if they let me stomp some grapes next time“
“The wines were great here! Mike and Marlene were so nice, super knowledgeable, and spent time going over the wines with us. They've got a big map where they show you where the grapes in their wines are harvested from. It's a great experience.“
