“Put down your food finding electronic device right now! Just go eat here, please. You might be going back and forth... just stop. You won't regret it and you'll save a lot of time with enjoyment instead.

So we have been here two times. Both times were great. Nacho was our server both times as well, and he is a total mensch. 👌 (hey! You recognized us from our first visit a couple months ago and we are the couple from Hawthorne! You might need to go in my personal server hall of fame.)

You won't be left unattended. Went the bottomless drink route and are worried that you won't get your monies worth? Stop. This is a great beach town, and this purveyor of delicious decadent food is not going to cheap out on that either.

All the food is made with love. And you CAN taste it. I wish we knew the names of the cooks in the back, but they are unsung heroes in my book.

“We thought this was just another boring Mexican restaurant — WRONG!! We thought the food was going to be average, or worse, underwhelming… once again WRONG.

I might need to raise my criteria for 5 stars, because this place checked all the boxes and then some.

Our waitress was attentive, bubbly, and very knowledgeable, which makes an average meal way more appealing… but in this case, the food needed no help. The items we selected were exquisite, tantalizing, and just downright 🔥!

Simple Breakdown of Meal:
• Chips and guac with the mushroom choriqueso, that's a 5-star treat in itself.
• Pulpo al Pastor (octopus)… my wife said it's 🔥🔥… I wasn't brave enough to try it, but it looked amazing for the 'gram.
• Tacos de Pescado: exquisite and magnifique (I'm sure I butchered that word… but you get the drift).

And to wrap it up and put a bow on it, the atmosphere and artwork bring the whole experience together beautifully.

Very expensive at $500 per night, used the 2 $10 free tickets at bar for 2 drinks and still owed $8.36. “I have lived in Manhattan Beach for over 20 years and yesterday I had maybe the best customer service experience EVER in my life. I was not able to get the young man’s name but I have this picture here that he let me take. This young man was so warm and hospitable towards everyone who walked in the store. He was very patient with me and all my sampling requests which was probably annoying because I came at a busy time, but his positive attitude never wavered. His smile lit up my day and made my ice cream taste even sweeter than it already was! I loved my experience with that young man so much that I might only get ice cream from salt in straw from now on! He also gives the best scoops, filled with a lot of joy… and ice cream as well, so request him if you can. Hopefully he is working there the next time I go, so that I can get his name and thank him for his incredible service. Salt and Straw, you found a good one.“

“I always come to this Handels and the service is always great ! We went today to order quarts for the house ! And we were attended by DAVID ! He was so friendly and kind! “We stopped by Hennessey’s in downtown Manhattan Beach for a casual breakfast and really enjoyed the relaxed, neighborhood feel. The outdoor patio is spacious and great for people-watching—we sat at a high table and took in the view of people walking their dogs, heading to the beach, or grabbing coffee. It’s in such a prime spot, and the vibe was easygoing and welcoming.

The service was lovely—our server was friendly, helpful, and happy to accommodate my request to modify the avocado toast (removing bacon and egg). The toast came with potatoes and worked for a light bite, though I would’ve loved a bit more seasoning. My husband had the spinach omelet with coffee, and I got a fresh-squeezed half-orange, half-grapefruit juice that was refreshing.

They also host live music in the weekend and Monday night trivia, which I imagine brings a fun crowd in the evenings. It seems like a true local favorite. We found parking easily across the street since it was early.

“Manhattan Beach. YOU SHOULD GET 3 SCOOPS BUT 2 IS OK. 1 scoop was $6.25 and 2 was $6.75. 3 was $7 something. If you like toppings, the banana split is the way to go for $10.25. There were some seats outside, but this place was more like a take out place. Walk the beach and go to the promenade. The museum wasn't interesting.

“Part of a chain, the Manhattan Beach Silverlake Ramen serves up a solid meal of Ramen (also saves me from driving to Sawtelle Blvd to eat). The Ramen is well prepared, properly spiced/flavored, and served at a proper temperature. This is the go to dish when you come here. I get the Blaze with pork because I want the extra spice level and it warms me up in the winter.
The rice bowl and the appetizers are all tasty and well prepared with good sized portions.
Service is good and they will attend to your needs but the wait staff is in between a lot of tables so it can get slightly spotty during service rushes. They will drop water carafes on the table so you do not need to ask for refills. There is a Silverlake Rewards app that is great to use to get free items if you consistently dine here, so I suggest downloading it. The points update quickly after you pay for a meal.
The environment is inside but the end of the restaurant is open to the outside of the Manhattan Village outside mall area. There are plenty of heat lamps if you are near the outside so you will stay warm. The bathrooms are clean and well serviced.
Definitely will return to dine here.“
