“Walking into Old Lightning feels like stepping into Pablo Moix’s private whiskey collection—rare, curated, and full of bottles you’ve only seen in photos. Hidden behind Scopa, the bar features an incredible lineup of high-end spirits: single cask Springbanks, rare Willetts, unique Balvenies, and other bottles you’ll probably never see again. Prices are high (sometimes maybe a bit too high), but you're paying for access to some truly special stuff.

What really makes this place stand out, though, is Oscar. He’s not just pouring drinks—he’s setting the tone for the whole experience. Super knowledgeable, but never pretentious. Inviting, energetic, and clearly passionate about what he does. “We popped into HiHo on some downtime from working at the SoFi stadium.

The smash burgers were really tasty but the fries were the star of the show.

It was a nice addition to see alcohol being served.

The Aircon could probably do with a service as it was roasting in the seating area and the outside area was full to capacity (which is always a good sign.)

“As we walked in there was no hostess and all the bartenders saw us but turned the other way. We waited but it looked completely empty so we were a bit confused whether or not they were open. They could have said, "welcome, someone will be with you shortly".My friend had to walk up and ask if we find a spot or wait for someone. They said we need to wait for a hostess (not friendly at all). The hostess was nice and so was our waiter, THANKFULLY. I gave 4 stars for the lack of welcoming and because I felt like it was hard to pick something I thought would be good. Food was average, nothing too exciting from what we ordered.“

“Incredible experience. The staff is extraordinary, very friendly to the point where it feels like family. The pastries and coffee are rich and decadent. I had one of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had and as a coffee connoisseur, I’m impressed.

The restaurant itself is a beautiful piece of art. They have a beautiful bar and really interesting and modern wine holders that are custom 3D printed on display inside.

“You must eat here!! We were in LA staying at Marina del Ray for the weekend and saw the reviews and booked a table. What a great little restaurant straight out of Italy (we used to live there so I have some experience 😉). The service was amazing and the owner checked on us at least 4 times to make sure everything was perfect…and it was! The homemade pasta delicious and the caprese the best I’ve ever had. I can’t believe this little gem was so close (right off Venice Beach) and so authentic!“

Let me give a shout out to another one of me and my friends favorite waitress, LIajayra E. I hope I spelled that right. In the fine tradition of great service Llajayra is just fantastic. Nice, courteous and knows how to take care of her customers. Major props, she represents Firestone Walker well, a definite asset to be sure.“

“My wife and I have been to a lot of IHOPs in different cities, but this is BY FAR the best in terms of food quality, speed of service, and wonderful management.
This IHOP consistently produces food that is well-seasoned, and never over/under cooked, all while having the food come out at a reasonable pace. We also had the opportunity to host a large event in this IHOP for about 45+ guests. Even with the large headcount, the food was AMAZING and came out so fast. All of our guests told us afterwards they would love to have future events at this IHOP.
We are so thankful for the manager (Marilyn) and our wonderful waiting staff who helped make our event so special and efficient.“

“As crazy as our Birthday party was, in the bar, our server, Jose, was awesome. There were 2 or 3 other large gatherings at the Marriott hotel, where Singer is, adjacent to the lobby. However, we felt completely cared for. I ordered the classic burger...I am a burger aficionado... It was awesome! I could say that I am ashamed of all the parmesan fries I ate, but nope, not sorry. They were awesome, as well. I don't know if it's a good or bad reality that this place is only a couple miles from my home because...Oh who am I kidding? I would return to this place of great service, atmosphere, fun and food, no matter the distance. Great job Marriott hotel and Sinder restaurant. We will return...often!“

“Not the biggest fan of how they charge for all the extra sides you’d typically get for free when ordering pho at any other restaurant, but still enjoyed my meal. They serve large bowls, although it’s a bit extra broth for its contents. The beef rolls are a yummy appetizer and the brisket is tasty. Service is fine, they do automatically add 18% minimum service charge to small parties and more for larger parties.“
