“Food: Ordered the pork belly banh mi (around $20) and it was SOOO good!! The meat is marinated so well and it practically melts in your mouth. Stuffed with carrots, daikon, cilantro, and a ton of meat. The portions are super generous, I had to take half to-go. Food came out in less than 10 min Service: it seems to be family-operated and everyone was so sweet and nice. The guy (possibly the owner) checked in on us multiple times, refilled water, napkins, anything that we could possibly need Seating: about 6 stools, so on the smaller side. There is a takeout window tho for people who don't want to dine in. Parking: street parking, we found parking right in front of Face Gym and walked like 3 min“
“2024 update: dined in for the first time and was underwhelmed with the food. Chickpea curry is decent, kaya toast is decent. The dan dan noodles are straight up not good! Extremely salty and fatty. Skipped dessert (unheard of for me) because the main dishes already made me feel so heavy and unhealthy.2022 takeout review: The laksa is incredible. It is easily two meals (can serve two people). I'm not a spice person and this was at the upper end of my spice tolerance but not too spicy. A side of clay oven bread is really good to dip in it. My only complaint was I ordered takeout and my order was ready 15 minutes later than the original estimate.“
“This was the last place my husband and I visited while in LA. Because of the location I was scared the food was going to be trash or that the restaurant would be so nasty that I wouldn’t want to eat there. However, this place was a pleasant surprise! Yes, it was a little rundown and outside there was a lot of garbage and old furniture but inside was clean although it was older, it was still very clean. The food was absolutely delicious! This is one of those those places that I wish that we had in my hotel. It’s a little mom and pop hole in the wall spot but their food packs of mighty punch and the service does too! The staff was very sweet and accommodating. If you’re in LA or nearby, I would definitely recommend for a good pho“
“BEST pad see ewe I've had in LA! I'm quite picky when it comes to Thai food. I'm one for authenticity when it comes to food in general. So I like to learn the history & stories behind the food, and the people the food represents. Very friendly & welcoming service. Bright, simple, and clean ambience. The fried mango-sticky rice rolls are an excellent and a quite ingenious version of the typical mango & sticky rice dessert! I also appreciated the check out process with their handheld device & they take Apple Pay. From the beginning as I entered I felt welcomed, again throughout the service was like being waited on by family, all smiles; and to the end of the meal, bows and smiles! 3 suggestions though: 1. The Thai tea could have been done with little less milk and more tea, and maybe offer other milk options like almond or soy milk, but it was still very flavorful and smooth! 2. I would like to see an upgrade in the glassware used for drinks like the Thai tea, hopefully in the near future. 3. Need better professional pictures up on Yelp. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical in trying this restaurant as I saw there were only 94 other reviews, yet it all averaged 5 stars! So I always make a point to try restaurants that possibly may have been overlooked or underrated. This place is definitely an authentic gem one all would enjoy! They actually deserve 10 stars I'll definitely be back again ;)“
“Got lucky today after arriving at LAX. On our way home we found this spot! Yelp gave 4.5 stars. Absolutely delighted with my experience at this pho restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, showcasing authentic flavors that left my taste buds in awe. The ambiance was enhanced by the charming touch of traditional music, creating a delightful atmosphere. What truly stood out was the exceptional service - always delivered with a genuine smile. A 5-star gem that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an outstanding dining experience!“
“We were a party of three. Place was not too busy. Our food came out great. Here is what I got. Classic pho soup and an order of wings. The wings did not disappoint. It would have been nice to have been checked on more throughout our meal. We had to flag down our server. Would definitely come back in the future.Parking: I found a valet attendant at the back of the building. He said he does not make an hourly wage, just off of tips. I gave that man $10.Kid-friendliness: I saw a family in here so there was that.“
“Best Pho and many dishes to enjoy. Big dining lounge but fills up really fast during lunchtime. All your food is fresh and cook to order coming out piping hot. You can upgrade your Pho soup to XL bowl, which I recommended if you're a big and hungry guy like me or a woman. I usually get their spring rolls and egg rolls that are made to order and fresh with peanut sauce. Great Pho soup for the price with fast service and great tasting Vietnamese food.“
“Food was great. They have a weird charging thing though about extra meat (you don’t get much extra) there was a guy blasting music next to me. I couldn’t enjoy my date. As well as the server barely coming to ask if we want a refill(it’s tap water for people like me who HATE sink water) we had to like chase them down for the check. And that took forever to come. Good food and place, very homey and cozy, bad service.“
“Cash only. Busy lunch location for the area. Standard menu items that cover rice to noodles, a big menu for a small mom and pop shop. Small parking lot can get hard to get out of during rush hour. Maybe easier to park on the street instead.“
“I was pleasantly surprised. Since it’s a new location, I wasn’t expecting my bowl to be as delicious as it was. I must mention that the tofu bites are a must try. The toppings are unlimited when you BYO bowl, a great touch. I also recommend the peanut sauce (sauces are in generous portions btw). The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the brown rice; it tasted odd. Service was expressly pleasant and she answered all my questions with a smile. Clean bathrooms and clean tables, always a plus with a fast casual place. Will come back!“
“This place is incredible. I dined here with my vegetarian son twice in five days, but I’m not a vegetarian. I didn’t miss the meat whatsoever. The food was seasoned so deliciously that it was simple to eat healthier. The texture and flavor of their “meat impostors” will trick your palate! My only criticism was the bathroom was not exactly the cleanest! Given the quality of the food, this seems like an easy fix!Vegetarian options: Nothing bland here!Parking: Several parking spotsKid-friendliness: Space for childrenWheelchair accessibility: Space for wheelchair or walker“
“Ordered an order of pho and spring rolls to go yesterday. The pho broth is exceptional and has such depth in flavor. The spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce was divine. Can’t wait to dine in and try the food as soon as it’s prepared. 5/5 “
“Came here for late lunch and it never disappoints. Thank you for your great service broth is so tasty this my pho spot ✨⚡️You can have conversation here music is only in the background. Theres a tv so when i come alone ill just watch tv.The mister that works here is humble and super sweet. Prices are affordable. They also do takeout!“
“Dining in is a pleasant, tasty experience and take out is just as good. The vegetarian pho is both light and filling and the egg rolls are a delight. Friendly staff, great pho.Dietary restrictions: I went with a friend with a gluten intolerance and the staff was very careful to provide a safe option for his meal.“
“Very unfortunate rating I have to give, because I actually enjoyed the pho. I originally ordered the oxtail pho, but after like 10 minutes found out they were sold out.The broth was nicely seasoned, not as clean/clear as I’d like though, the rib eye was okay, but there were not enough noodles. Anyway, I ordered shrimp egg rolls as well. I was almost done with my pho before they came out. Yet and still? They came out FROZEN! Not cold, or old, FROZEN!“
“My favorite, go-to Thai food in LA and the best krapow on the west side. Better than any other kra-pow I’ve found here by a mile. Noodles are amazing. Always nice and extremely fast service, very reasonable prices. Every once in a while I’ll try somewhere new and I always come back here.“
“Vegetarian options: I really love this place it’s so amazing . I also love to eat noodles from this specific place . Owner is so nice and kind . Noodles and fried rice are so delicious. They have good vegetarian options too along with non vegetarian. That’s my favorite place for Chinese food . Love it ??“
“Love the shrimp spring rolls and egg rolls. My daughter loves the pho and my husband likes his grilled pork and rice. We were able to dine in at 11pm. Glad we were able to make it, esp after arriving from a transatlantic flight. Thank you for the good food.Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair and kiddie utensils that came with a scissor.“
“Great place to get your essential dose of Pho. Delicious broth, cool nostalgic environment inside, audio cassettes as menus.Lots of daylight and good vibes inside. Located perfectly so you can visit The Academy Museum/LACMA or other fun stuff that is in the area.“
“This vietnamiese restraunt has lots of delicious food and the presentation of the food is just fantastic! I would highly reccomend the vermicelli bowl and please try their Thai tea! Probably the best Thai tea I ever had ☺️Vegetarian options: Salad rolls , mango sticky rice“
“This place is absolutely legit and delicious!! From Pho, Bun, and to Bahnmi, everything is delicious! Even the rice plate!! I haven’t had a bad meal at Ktown Pho, ever!! Don’t sleep on the bahn-mi. They use real pork belly but it kinda tastes like 족발. Only place in town to get it. Run and eat here. You can thank me later!❤️❤️❤️❤️????“
“Parking can be challenging on Sawtelle Street since during the nights it gets pretty packed. Not to mention the crowds outside sushi stop and Tsujita artisan noodles where it lies betweenSmooth service from start to finish from the entire staff. No issues at all….they were all very positive and friendly. Outside for some reason didn’t have heaters inside there’s limited seating, including the bar area.Got the veggie spring rolls, which are actually really good with the tofu and oyster mushrooms inside definitely something different compared to your common shrimp rolls.Pho bo vien with rare, filet mignon and beef balls. Were good just the sizing of it all was extremely small including the amount noodles.Pho chay with organic mushrooms and carrots was good and I felt it had way more ingredients and hearty compared to the beef phoOverall everything tasted amazing but the price per bowl felt a little bit too expensive for my taste.Vegetarian options: Pho chay is amazing esp who is the oyster mushroomParking: Street parking metered and stops at 8 PM“
“it’s a very cozy spot. lots of older people enjoying traditional vietnamese. i didn’t try to the coffee bc i came after work but it seems to be very popular. i got the # 3 pho & the #1 appetizer it was SO FIRE seriously. so grateful for this place will be “
“The oxtail pho was the best I’ve ever had and very quick and a great price too!Better than any pho I’ve had on Oahu, I’m just visiting now and wanted to try some good pho for once. I’m lucky I found this place! They gave me some jelly cakes as a bonus too! So glad I stopped “
“[Review #677]2023-080Food Order:BYOB (1/2 garlic rice, 1/2 vermicelli noodles, grilled pork, basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeños, lime, mint, pickled cabbage, pickled carrots & daikon, pickled onion & habanero, scallions, sunomono, tomatoes, crispy onions, crushed peanuts, toasted sesame seeds, cilantro ginger sauce)Bowl Specialist: Magnificent Maria (manager)!Menu/Price: compact menu with slightly higher than normal price points (expected/on par for the westside), though portions are about an extra 1/2 - whole serving, it's considered reasonable.Restroom: gender neutral on the right, just before the exit to the backside patio dining.Parking: lots of metered parking along Venice Blvd., rare availability during lunch/dinner rush. Free on Sundays, all other days are 25¢/15-mins.; look out for signs in the evening for free parking.Trying to clear out my drafts for the year... I learned about Mȳ Lai via a YEE (Review #676) -- of course -- about 2 years ago. Even though I work a couple of miles south of the restaurant, I wouldn't have known about them even though they're located near the busy corner of Venice Blvd. & Centinela Ave. in Mar Vista.Mȳ Lai (= Vietnamese mixed with American aka Ameriasian) is a modern, fast-casual Vietnamese restaurant that's the brainchild of husband & wife team: Shad Davis & Traci Phan-Davis. I love the idea of a bánh mì in a bowl form & one that you can create. It's a simple 4-step process build your own (bánh mì) or bowl (BYOB): 1) Base It (bánh mì, brown rice, cauliflower rice, garlic rice, salad, vermicelli noodles); 2) Meat It (crispy tofu, grilled chicken, grilled pork, Impossible meat, rockin' beef); 3) Top It (veggies: basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeños, lime, mint, pickled cabbage, pickled carrots & daikon, pickled onion & habanero, scallions, sunomono, tomatoes; crunchies: crispy onions, crispy garlic, crushed peanuts, toasted sesame seeds); 4) Sauce It (cilantro ginger, honey sriracha, miso sesame, Mỹ Lai vinaigrette, peanut sauce, sesame vinaigrette, tamarind vinaigrette, vegan Mỹ Lai vinaigrette).I had an excellent intro from Maria that I repeated the same deliciousness on my subsequent visits during COVID-19 lockdown. While I didn't enjoy my place of employment, I would have frequented Mỹ Lai more often due to the short distance, generous portions (hefty in weight & volume!), but I left before they reopened. I've been back a couple of times, & my takeout bowls are usually packed to the brim that the lid doesn't stay shut. O_oWith a variety of veggie toppings & crunchies, each bowl is "brilliantly" (colored) crafted. Between the grilled pork & chicken, I prefer the pork even though it doesn't have the char/grilled marks of the thịt nướng that I'm used to. The pickled veggies were crisp but a bit muted in acidity, needed the pickled onions & habaneros for some oomph of chili heat. I liked the flavorful cilantro ginger dressing best; if you do a combo, I would advise an 80:20 sesame & tamarind vinaigrette mix. The ratio of protein:base & veggies were on point that I had a bite of everything from start to finish... not quite authentic, but certainly satisfying & yummy! They have a Maine Root Soda Fountain... you gotta try the mexicane cola! Not in my neck of the woods, but I'll stop by Mȳ Lai when I'm infrequently in the area.Recommended: BYOB (better bargain & more food than bánh mì).“
“We discovered this Noodle bar in January when I was down at UCLA for a minor surgery. Food was great then, so we stopped by for lunch last week. Food was great again.Totally recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a clean, quite meal with GREAT food....“
“I’m not sure why it took me this long to find out about this place, but they have the most authentic char koay teow you can find in Los Angeles! (As close as it can get without the one ingredient that is banned here) Their Hainan Chicken Rice and Mee Goreng is pretty spot on as well. If you are Malaysian/Singaporean living on the west side and has cravings for food from home, look no further!I wish they have more offerings like Roti Canai or Hokkien Mee but being an Asian fusion place half their offerings are western. I’ll take what I can get though!“
“Small restaurant along a strip of small restaurants but we keep coming back here for very tasty Vietnamese faire. Just ordered the Bun Cha (rice noodles with pork in fish sauce) by accident and found out it's delicious despite the funny stuff collection of ingredients.“
“I went there because the pho place I usually go to was closed. I had the fillet mignon (well done) Pho, and it was very tasty. It only comes in a Large portion. The broth was flavorful, and it hit the spot. The service was good and fast even though it was busy. The restaurant is located at a strip mall so it’s good for a casual dine in, nothing fancy.“
“Decent Vietnamese. Portions were smaller than other Vietnamese places, and many of the sauces such as the Nuoc Cham for the Bun Bowl and Peanut sauce for Spring Rolls, were weak and watered down. Would come here again, but hope they can improve these things.“
“We all the same idea on this cold day in LA. That idea was PHO! We were ok our way to our usual spot when we saw that jr was CLOSED! So i thought to myself no fear let me yelp! Seoul pho showed that it was .2 miles away from where we were. SAY LESS! We parked inside the California marketplace parking structure (free parking now!) and we saw a few people going the same way we were! Of course they were getting pho too!We went inside the top Terrace where indoor food court is and where Seoul pho is located. The line moved fast and the menu was simple enough i did order shrimp egg rolls i think that's what they were? Aside from my Beef pho!PORTIONS are 10/10 and so is the flavor! and on our cashier was very sweet. Well definitely return!“
“This is pho-king GOOOD!!! OK so I love pho but I hadn't had it a couple years (drag me). This was my first time trying this spot. This bowl literally restored my faith in humanity. Parking in this area is always a lil scarce but it's well worth it.The service here is great! The staff is super friendly and informative about the different flavor profiles the restaurant has to offer. The location is clean and all that, don't even get me started on the food. Straight up delicious. I ordered the fish pho and OMG with the combination of spices and sauces it was mouthwateringly good. It was super flavorful and combined w the fresh herbs it was OVER.Loved my meal here + I had plenty of leftovers! I'm absolutely coming back lol“
“Walking in felt like home, the decor was like a mother's home, the cute bar in middle. Very small establishment but the food and drinks made up for that. The fried chicken with fish sauce was delicious. The crab rice was also deliciously good. I can't remember the name of the drink I had but it was so tasty and strong. I will recommend coming here for good drinks and good food.“
“Been coming here for years . The Pho never disappoints. They serve it in a huge bowl with all the necessary garnishes including bean sprouts, lemon, fresh basil & jalapeños. Their spring rolls are delicious with the peanut sauce. Not a fan of spring roll try their dumplings sooo good. Thai tea is made to perfection as well.Staff is very nice. Clean bathroom , and very clean tables always!Parking isn’t always the best in the afternoon because that plaza gets busy but at night lots of spots.Parking: Metered parking all along WestwoodShared parking lot“
“The small portion was really good, I had trouble finishing it! Also tasted AMAZING! And only for 11.50 which is not bad. The chili oil goes so well with the noodle and the brown sweet sauce (idk what its called) goes great to dip your beef. Overall will be coming back often, amazing taste and price! ? + staff is super nice“
“We can’t say enough good things about this establishment and the creators/owners and staff. They catered our wedding a month ago and I am still receiving texts from guests talking about how delicious the food was. We honestly aren’t surprised, as the power couple/owners Traci & Shad Davis have been putting out some of the best food in Los Angeles for years. ??My Lai offers some of the most delicious and fresh food we have ever eaten, no exaggeration. There’s a reason we asked them to cater our wedding. You can taste that every single ingredient is thought out and perfectly executed. Nothing is looked over, and Traci puts together the most beautiful displays. We couldn’t be prouder. If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and get over to one of their 3 LA locations. These people know food.“
“Tried it last night for the first time. Takeout. The pho was delicious. My only complaint is that the spring rolls were wrapped tightly in plastic and I bit into the plastic since it’s hard to tell they’re wrapped. My poor husband had never had them before and he actually ate the plastic! He said that’s just how he thought they were. Please don’t wrap them! Or at least let customers know!“
“This place is a hidden gem right here in WeHo! Found this delicious restaurant about 2 months ago, and have eaten here for dine-in & take out multiple times. The FOOD has been consistently amazing every time.I've tried the OXtail PHO, the brisket PHO, the Chicken Rice bowl, & the popcorn chicken. They all SMACK! ?????Very flavorful and Tasty. The Atmosphere inside is upscale casual. There's a natural look with a relaxed vibe inside. (Great for dates). They have a bar with good drinks, clean bathrooms, & a small outdoor dinning area. The only quality that can match the FOOD here is, actually the SERVICE!The STAFF (Alvaro) & others that have served us have been outstanding.GREAT customer SERVICE experience, from the wait staff, down to Chef Eric with great FOOD.I will definitely be returning to PHORAGE again next time I'm in town.-CHRIS*STARRDietary restrictions: They have a GF GLUTEN FREE MENU!!!! ❤️?“
“I have dined in several times, but giving the 5 star review, because of a recent take out order. Specified I was sick, and they took care of me by throwing in extra broth with a personal get well note written on the cup. Great food, made with love. I recommend the spring rolls, brisket broth pho, and the AP Chao Crispy Pulled Pork Noodles.“
“Excellent place to visit if you like Vietnamese food with a fancy twist. I got the shaky shaky beef and the sauce was a similar taste to soy sauce with a hint of teriyaki sauce, beef was medium, salad was good, the rice was very good and the service was awesome. Would definitely be back to try to different plates.“
“I had the shrimp and pineapple fried rice. 5 stars for the portions. 4 stars for the food. The shrimp was pretty bland but the rice was good. Orange chicken was delicious. We all had a decent amount of leftovers because the portion sizes were large. Prices were relatively decent. The shrimp fried rice was $13 ish for a large portion.“
“We loved the fresh ingredients used here at this restaurant. The pho was delicious! I ordered the vegetable pho which was filled with different vegetables! Great for when it's cold outside or if you're feeling a little under the weather. Also great friendly service! Definitely will be returning!“
“The chicken in there pho is so a delicately shaved and delicious... My boyfriend loves the brisket and beef pho. Each broth is dedicated to the protein, and the portion of the protein is more than any other place your order on the west side. The beef ban hi is delish!“
“Phorage is a no-frills restaurant for delicious food and outstanding service. This is my go-to spot for pho and I love the specials they offer which offer some tasty fusion recipes (Birria pho and Spricy Lemongrass pho are great specials they offer) Other favorites include broken rice dishes as well as vermicelli cold noodle salads (BEST CHICKEN THIGHS EVER). Since I usually order delivery or takeout I know how quickly and efficiently this restaurant runs. It’s become my comfort food and I eat it weekly.Dietary restrictions: I have gluten intolerance and I can eat the pho without any reactions. Big win!“
“The servers and hosts are always so nice here. The pho is good. I ordered a large rare steak pho with the steak on the side — the portion was huge and the broth was super hot! I also recommend their chicken wings, it was super flavorful and crispy.“
“Very glad I came here. I read some of the reviews, but my experience was very very good. I don’t know why this place is not rated higher.?I had the duck soup large with clear noodles and it was yummy with plenty of duck.?I also got a shrimp vermicelli bun to go that was just okay.⚠️Also, you probably want to double check your togo orders; they accidentally gave me pork sausage instead of shrimp paste ? so I had to throw it out.Service was very good and very attentive.Parking: There’s a large shared shopping center parking lot behind the restaurant“
“Best I have had around anywhere in Los Angeles. By the looks you wouldn't understand how incredibly fresh and always perfect this poke and sushi comes out ever time. Never disappointed. This review is food quality only. The staff is amazing here but they are not servers. They provide the best over the counter poke bowl around. Parking is always easy and if there is a line it always goes fast.“
“I ordered pho with beef steak and beef balls. It’s among the best pho I had in west LA. The soup is great. But honestly the beef is ok. The price may be a little higher than expected. The restaurant is in a good location, there’s boba next door.“
“Overall it’s good and average pho ? for neighborhood restaurant. Meat was surprisingly better tasting than from the looks. broth was good and average. Noodles were the weakest and just basic. The service was friendly and great. Price is high but for local area pricing it is fair or slighter cheaper than average in the area.“
