I would recommend this place to anyone that loves good Asian food. Good experience and great staff!“

Nothing more, nothing less. Walked out of there with 3 Bahn Mis, iced coffee, and a soda for $25 (not including tip; don't forget to tip). “Worth the wait. I avoided the wait as I went before the lunch rush on a Saturday morning. Around 10:45am. Their broth is clean, light but flavorful. It was not overly sweet like some places. The eggrolls were the rice paper kind and not the wonton type. It was super crispy and right amt of chewy. Spring rolls were equally delicious. Found meter parking outside. Would definitely return.“

“If you're interested in trying popular Vietnamese entrees outside of pho, head over to Be U! This woman-owned eatery is located in a prime hipster Echo Park neighborhood, and to me, it's a perfect blend of my culture superimposed on Los Angeles's colorful cityscape. The menu ranges from homey comfort-food entrees to popular street bites, and some new-age fusion items as well. Atmosphere: 2/5 As a take-out-only restaurant located on Hoover Street, there's no seating and it faces traffic. If only there were some colorful plastic chairs (like the ones you see in SE Asia) - the vibes would be immaculate. However, you're either standing and eating or taking the food back to your home. Service: 3/5 Wasn't bad but wasn't warm or friendly either - service was okay Flavors: 5/5 Highly recommend: -Banh mi trung op la (banh mi with fried egg): homemade mushroom pate is delicious, it inspired me to make some at home. The egg was crispy to the heavens. -Rau ma juice: in English known as pennyworth, extremely refreshing, herbal, and will cool you down on a hot day. -Tofu goi cuon (spring rolls): The peanut sauce offered with this was so yummy! The spring rolls were super fresh and all the herbs complemented the flavors. Parking: 2/5 Street parking only, very limited Pricing: 3/5 Definitely not cheap for Vietnamese food, however, LA is a high-cost-of-living area so I understand that the owner needs to maintain overhead costs and pay her employees a fair wage! Expect to pay $4-5 higher than what you're used to paying in the OC/SJ/SGV. The reason why I rate it low is because the portions are significantly smaller than what you'd get at a traditional sit down Vietnamese restaurant Overall I recommend Be U if you're unfamiliar with Vietnamese food outside of mainstream pho, but if you're willing to drive to SGV, Garden Grove/Westminster, you'll be truly immersed in the cuisine and culture“

“We wanted something healthy but flavorful for dinner and happened upon this place in the neighborhood, pretty no frills on the inside. Clearly a big focus on deliveries, but there's plenty of tables. We each got a steak banh mi and WOW was it good! So much flavor, and the bread was perfect; hard enough to hold it together, but easy to bite into. The crispy spring rolls were perfect as well, clearly freshly made and decently sized. We also split some noodles and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Definitely will be back.“

“BEST pad see ewe I've had in LA! I'm quite picky when it comes to Thai food. I'm one for authenticity when it comes to food in general. So I like to learn the history & stories behind the food, and the people the food represents. Very friendly & welcoming service. Bright, simple, and clean ambience. The fried mango-sticky rice rolls are an excellent and a quite ingenious version of the typical mango & sticky rice dessert! I also appreciated the check out process with their handheld device & they take Apple Pay. From the beginning as I entered I felt welcomed, again throughout the service was like being waited on by family, all smiles; and to the end of the meal, bows and smiles! 3 suggestions though: 1. The Thai tea could have been done with little less milk and more tea, and maybe offer other milk options like almond or soy milk, but it was still very flavorful and smooth! 2. I would like to see an upgrade in the glassware used for drinks like the Thai tea, hopefully in the near future. 3. Need better professional pictures up on Yelp. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical in trying this restaurant as I saw there were only 94 other reviews, yet it all averaged 5 stars! So I always make a point to try restaurants that possibly may have been overlooked or underrated. This place is definitely an authentic gem one all would enjoy! They actually deserve 10 stars I'll definitely be back again ;)“

“This is officially my favorite pho spot! Went about four times in a span of two weeks, and took my best friend for his first ever time trying this food! He loved it! And he's super picky, so I know it must've been really good lolThe place is really small and cute, and service has always been great, only once I went in, and was told oh, sit wherever you want, and then, when I did, they moved me to a smaller table, because the bigger tables were for big groups only, but then a group of two walked in when we were still there, they sat them in the same table we had attempted to sit, so that wasn't that great, but I don't want to put the blame on the location, because again the food is great and every other time I've gone to service has been amazing. Will definitely be returning soon.“

I had the shrimp pho and it was so flavorful and soo good. We also had some crispy dumplings which were also pretty good ! Service was great, very nice people attending us and making sure our dinner time was going well. And the place was just so calm and relaxing. We got there an hour before closing time so there wasn't as many people, which made the experience so much better. After this redeeming experience, I will definitely be coming back ! “I stopped by with friends it was a pretty solid spot for pho and other delicious Vietnamese menu items.I had the avocado drink, spicy fried soft shell crab, “Lady’s on fire” Spicy Lo Mein Noodles, beef combo pho & braised marinated pork belly with egg & rice. The avocado drink was good but too much ice overall that you only get a small few gulps of the drink. The soft shell crab appetizer was phenomenal and my favorite dish of the bunch. Perfect flavor and cooked just right. The lady on fire was an excellent noodle dish. Flavor and spice was on point and it was cooked perfectly. The beef combo pho was also good, the meats were great and the broth was pretty good. A descent bowl of pho.The braised pork belly was good but I made the mistake of thinking it was going to be fried. It was still a solid dish, the sauce was delicious and sweet. The pork was very tender and flavorful.Customer service is great but sometimes it can get crowded and there might be some delays due to only a few working, but still a great dining experience.I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items. Parking is valet only or street parking if available.“

“Downtown LA Pho stands out as the perfect spot if you crave authentic Vietnamese Pho right in the heart of the financial district of DTLA. The pho and soup base boast delightful flavors. The staff is exceptionally friendly, providing great service, and the portion sizes are satisfying. However, it's crucial to manage expectations and avoid comparing the food here to the offerings in San Gabriel Valley or Little Saigon area. -1 star for the pricing, but considering the prime location and convenience, it's understandable. “This order was delivered by GrubHub and was delivered in appropriate time. The flavor of the pho broth was a little underwhelming and left me wanting a stronger taste. The restaurant does take the time to create an authentic broth but may cut the time short, leading to a lighter flavor. Since the broth can easily make or break a good bowl of Pho, this broth is 4 out of 5 stars, which is great for a regular location. While it's not the best in the area, it still has decent flavor. The chicken was a little chewy and did not soften after sitting in the broth for a while. The freshness of the chicken is questionable. As a frequent pho enthusiast, I was disappointed that this restaurant did not offer spring rolls, which is my go-to appetizer when judging a pho restaurant. This time I opted for the fried egg rolls and I was not impressed with the texture or flavor. Everything in the egg roll tasted old and lacked a desirable flavor. The pho broth container and the chicken &noodles container were both of good quality, as there were no spills in the bag, and kept everything warm during delivery. However, the pho ingredients and the egg rolls were delivered in Styrofoam packaging which is environmentally irresponsible. As seen in the pictures, the container with the egg rolls was either cut or melted in an unusual way. I suspect the restaurant cut the box to allow for venting and to prevent melting. Getting rid of the Styrofoam containers would yield a higher service rating.Overall, not too bad. I'd visit this restaurant again if I'm in the area.“

The Eating Factory Vietnamese • $$
1001 S Vermont Ave, Los Angeles - 10.63 miles

“In my opinion, this is the best bowl of pho I've had in LA and I've tried them all. I think the reason I'm giving this business four stars has to do with both the ambience and the selections on the menu. For starters, they do not offer other traditional Vietnamese dishes, like spring rolls, or bun. It seems that it is very limited to Pho and some fried options. The ambience was very bright, and the music was a bit loud for my taste. I like something a little bit more subdued, but I understand that I'm being a bit picky. But the actual Pho itself? Unbelievably flavorful. Another complaint, they do not offer the nuc bro which is traditionally available at every pho place I've ever been to. On the plus side, they have what it is almost a salad bar type, set up where you can grab the sides for the Pho that you want: lime slices, basil, bean, sprouts, jalapeño slices, and onions. This is perfect for me because I like to have a little more basil and onion, but I don't care for the jalapeño and that way none gets wasted on me. If you're only interested in getting a bowl of pho, you are in the right place. I will be back here again for sure.“

I always get the shrimp pho with glass noodles and I love that they put in so many delicious veggies, including bok choy and different varieties of mushrooms. They also make their own sauces. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Almost all of the main dishes are gluten-free, and if you are sensitive to rice as well like I am, they offer the sweet potato glass noodle as an option for the pho, no extra charge“

“Unassuming little place in a strip mall with more parking than what you usually see in Glendale. Food was great! You can also get coconuts here. Delicious yellow curry, pad thai, pad see, fried shrimps. Nice and quick service. They were nice about packing food in paper containers instead of plastic when they could. Will definitely come back here.“

“Been a few years since we've been here and they've modernize the place. Menu got an update as well. I got #1-pho special and my husband got #4 also pho ? still delicious, we both almost emptied the huge bowl but the broth towards the end felt too salty, still as good as I remembered it and price is somewhat affordable compared to other places6 years ago:Love their pho, my husband love their #51. Portions are big for the pho and I'm always full, satisfied and happy after consuming the big bowl of noodles and broth.Very occasionally I order the porridge with ofalls and deep fried bread - just hit the spot for me. Prices are still affordable even though they've raised a little. Everyone that I brought to this place enjoys their food. It's a very simple restaurant, nothing fancy and get very crowded during meal times.“

“I had the Chicken Pho and I was very impressed by the broth and by the service. The Gentleman at the front was very hospitable, and on top of it the soup was very fresh. The Chicken was succulent and cooked perfectly. Despite not coming with any Basil, the broth base was soooo flavorful. Will definitely stop to get lunch here again, didn't even know it was here. 4.7stars. The thing that would put it over the top is some basil, but I'm sure like a lot of restaurants they've had to cut back because there's hardly any people downtown anymore.“
