“Ofena is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want — warm, welcoming, and delicious. We were treated so well (thank you!) and loved the focaccia, especially the mortadella. The gnocchi with duck prosciutto was rich and perfect, and the pork chop was cooked just right. The creamy polenta is a must — silky and comforting. Peas salad kept things bright, and the arancini were crispy and cheesy. Loved the martini with a focaccia garnish — such a fun touch. Service was thoughtful but relaxed, which made the night even better. Can’t wait to come back for more food and cocktails.“

He welcomed us into his amazing restaurant for a tasting that felt more like a celebratory dinner than a formal event (we’ll definitely be back), and went out of his way to accommodate our guests with dietary restrictions. It's now 6 pm and this place has 2 tables open. I had the lasagna and my partner had the gorgonzola gnocchi and mom had veal cannelloni. I have pictures... but don't see the option to attach them.“

The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. The only thing that fell a little bit for me was the Caesar salad salad, because it didn't quite have the taste that I was expecting. “As someone raised on the east coast, I consider myself a decent critic of what makes a sandwich shop better than what you can make at home. Number one is bread that isn’t something that can be bought at your local grocery store. Check that box- I don’t know exactly how to categorize their sub roll but it’s crusty, chewy and all the things that mass produced bread can’t be. Number two is the prep of the ingredients- at home we can all put a lettuce leaf on a sandwich, but that just creates a barrier between bread/sauce/meat. Here it’s thinly sliced and perfectly married to the importance of sauce…which they also nail. All I can say is WELL DONE!“

The staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The order took about 20 minutes and we had a drink outside while waiting. I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp and grits. Over anything else on the menu! And I was told the gnocchi was amazing too iAnd of course the pizza is awesome!“
