I don’t know the first names, but I’ve been seeing their faces for years. I rediscovered this place about a year ago. Told my daughter about it. I’ve had many Sandwiches in the neighborhood and around the Bay area because I’m a native , but this is something so special about the sandwich they’ll do anything you want , warm it up , cut it in half that just makes it so perfect. I use light pesto on my sandwich w mayor and…. I like a little vinaigrette, kind of a taste, and I love their pastrami

“As someone raised on the east coast, I consider myself a decent critic of what makes a sandwich shop better than what you can make at home. Number one is bread that isn’t something that can be bought at your local grocery store. Check that box- I don’t know exactly how to categorize their sub roll but it’s crusty, chewy and all the things that mass produced bread can’t be. Number two is the prep of the ingredients- at home we can all put a lettuce leaf on a sandwich, but that just creates a barrier between bread/sauce/meat. Here it’s thinly sliced and perfectly married to the importance of sauce…which they also nail. All I can say is WELL DONE!“

“I stopped by Sourdough & Co. and they absolutely delivered.

I ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and a 6-inch French dip. The clam chowder was amazing — exactly my style. Strong, real clam flavor, not watered down at all. The sourdough bread bowl was warm, soft, and fresh. I devoured the chowder without hesitation.

After a 12-mile run, I thought I had the appetite for everything. One bite of the sandwich later, food won and I had to tap out. I took the sandwich to go!

The spot itself is clean and welcoming. As soon as I walked in, I was acknowledged and helped right away. Ordering was smooth and simple. The manager even came out mid-meal to check if everything was okay, which I genuinely appreciated. On my way out, I said goodbye to the staff and everyone returned it with a smile.

“I met the owner of this place while doing rideshare. At the end of the trip he said, “Since you got me home safely, come by my sandwich shop and I’ll have my people hook you up.”
His staff was just as friendly as he was, and the sandwich tasted even better than I expected.
My recommendation: turkey and salami with lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a toasted French roll with garlic sauce only.
The taste isn’t something to die for, it’s something to live and stay alive for.

“I like my sandwiches moist - there is nothing worse when you unwrap that paper around your deli sandwich and wonder if they forgot to put any sauce, condiments on there, and if your lunch experience is going to be drier than dirt. No worries about that at Lou's. By now, I've tried about 7 or 8 of their sandwiches and every single one has been a wonderfully messy delight (extra napkins!). Somehow, their signature jalapeno sauce seems to go with every thing - haven't found a mis-match between that sauce and any sandwich yet. The bread - where the hell are they getting this bread?!?? It is the best deli sandwich bread I've had since I fell in love with the dutch crunch at Sam's Deli as a teenager (oh, those were the days!!). The folks there are great - just cranking out one delicious meal after the next with quiet precision and skill. Awfully nice to have this place right here in town!“

“Ordered the combo pork with pate,fancy pork,head cheese,ham,mayo,pickled carrot and onion. I also added jalapeño. The combination of the toasted bread and generous pate made the sandwich crunchy and moist. Meats and veggie were very tasty with the pickled carrots. Price is right and sandwich are very good. “A stellar neighborhood deli serving a wide variety of sandwiches with excellent breads and ingredients. Their current hours are a bit limited, especially for the kitchen/grill half of the menu, but hopefully those expand in the future.

The meatloaf sandwich was exceptional, but I do recommend choosing a softer crust bread than the sourdough roll, as biting through it tended to smush the meatloaf out the side. Not that the roll was in any way had - it was excellent - but just not a great pairing for the meatloaf.“

“This is the place to get a Great Deli Sandwich. They also serve burgers too. They have a great salad bar as well. It's in an industrial park area off of Harbor street, so parking can be tight. I will definitely hit this place up again when I'm in South San Francisco near the airport 😃😃😃“

“This review is not for the food, but for the customer service at this location. I ordered, ate, and left, only to go home and realize my phone earbuds were missing.

I called the store and a man who I think was the manager picked up. Not only did he look for them, he also asked me if I had associated a name with my order and what I got so he could check the video footage. He was able to pinpoint when I was there and told me he'd call me back if he saw that I'd dropped them on the video.

I ended up finding them, but I am so deeply appreciative of the time the employees here took to reassure me they were doing everything they could to help me with my lost item. They truly went above and beyond and I hope they are recognized for it.“

“I am so glad they opened this sandwich spot! I ordered 5 items for takeout and it came out to only $34. I got 2 veggie sandwiches on Dutch crunch. Best sandwiches in San Mateo County. I also tried their 2 dessert options. They have the bst carrot cake I have ever had! Their chocolate chip cookie tasted very rich. I had their veggie soup which was fresh and delicious. This place is my new go to spot. The location is a little awkward, but the inside is organized and clean. It only took 10 minutes to make my order. Definitely a satisfied customer!!!“

Not only was the food delicious as usually but the service was outstanding. They had gotten my order wrong and were so helpful and prompt in fixing the mistake. They also granted us two complimentary cookies for the mistake which was unnecessary but well received. 100% recommend both food and service!“
