Number one is bread that isn’t something that can be bought at your local grocery store. Check that box- I don’t know exactly how to categorize their sub roll but it’s crusty, chewy and all the things that mass produced bread can’t be. Number two is the prep of the ingredients- at home we can all put a lettuce leaf on a sandwich, but that just creates a barrier between bread/sauce/meat. Here it’s thinly sliced and perfectly married to the importance of sauce…which they also nail. All I can say is WELL DONE!“

I don’t know the first names, but I’ve been seeing their faces for years. I rediscovered this place about a year ago. Told my daughter about it. I’ve had many Sandwiches in the neighborhood and around the Bay area because I’m a native , but this is something so special about the sandwich they’ll do anything you want , warm it up , cut it in half that just makes it so perfect. I use light pesto on my sandwich w mayor and…. I like a little vinaigrette, kind of a taste, and I love their pastrami

“I like my sandwiches moist - there is nothing worse when you unwrap that paper around your deli sandwich and wonder if they forgot to put any sauce, condiments on there, and if your lunch experience is going to be drier than dirt. No worries about that at Lou's. By now, I've tried about 7 or 8 of their sandwiches and every single one has been a wonderfully messy delight (extra napkins!). Somehow, their signature jalapeno sauce seems to go with every thing - haven't found a mis-match between that sauce and any sandwich yet. The bread - where the hell are they getting this bread?!?? “Ordered the combo pork with pate,fancy pork,head cheese,ham,mayo,pickled carrot and onion. I also added jalapeño. The combination of the toasted bread and generous pate made the sandwich crunchy and moist. Meats and veggie were very tasty with the pickled carrots. Price is right and sandwich are very good. I will come back for more.“

“The things going for Darby Dan's are no line, fast service, full kitchen and beers on tap. We had a couple of sandwiches. Darby Dan sandwich $15 and a roast beef w/Swiss $13.50. They had a full kitchen on the right. It wasn't on the menu but they made some chili cheese fries for me. They even had Mango Cart beer on tap. I had a pint. I'm not sure how much it cost because they don't give me a receipt. Regardless, everything tasted OK.“

“There was an Espotos's Delicatezza in San Mateo and after Covid they never opened again, I was sad, the sandwiches at that place were irresistible, I always ordered a Valentino and it was super delicious. “This is the place to get a Great Deli Sandwich. They also serve burgers too. They have a great salad bar as well. It's in an industrial park area off of Harbor street, so parking can be tight. I will definitely hit this place up again when I'm in South San Francisco near the airport 😃😃😃“

“There is a big parking for at least 20 cars. In the building there is just a line and some menus on the T.V's. You wait you turn and get served slowly but professionaly. They ask some specific questions about your sandwich because you can litteraly order bread and ham on top. Without any toppings or any thing on top. There are outside seating but not a lot.

Tip : come early at 11:30 because after at 12:30 there is a long line“

“I always order the #1 Turkey on Dutch Crunch, very fresh with lots of meat. My son loves the Pastrami! Vegetarian options as well. It is a take out establishment, check the hours, closed Sun. and Mon. Call ahead if you can to order ahead of time. Affordable. One of Belmont's finest establishments. (Been going here 23 years)“

“This review is not for the food, but for the customer service at this location. I ordered, ate, and left, only to go home and realize my phone earbuds were missing.

I called the store and a man who I think was the manager picked up. Not only did he look for them, he also asked me if I had associated a name with my order and what I got so he could check the video footage. He was able to pinpoint when I was there and told me he'd call me back if he saw that I'd dropped them on the video.

I ended up finding them, but I am so deeply appreciative of the time the employees here took to reassure me they were doing everything they could to help me with my lost item. They truly went above and beyond and I hope they are recognized for it.“

“Small interior at this Mendocino Farms location in Redwood City, as it seems the majority business is take-outs for the office workers in the vicinity. Easy ordering process, but service could be slow during the peak lunch hours. The three salads we tried were all pretty good, and just the right portions. Large free parking lot.“

“I am so glad they opened this sandwich spot! I ordered 5 items for takeout and it came out to only $34. I got 2 veggie sandwiches on Dutch crunch. Best sandwiches in San Mateo County. I also tried their 2 dessert options. They have the bst carrot cake I have ever had! Their chocolate chip cookie tasted very rich. I had their veggie soup which was fresh and delicious. This place is my new go to spot. The location is a little awkward, but the inside is organized and clean. It only took 10 minutes to make my order. Definitely a satisfied customer!!!“

This shop got robbed while I was there: some African American teenagers with face covers darted with their sandwiches and drinks without paying for them. It's not the business's fault, but still, doesn't feel good to visit a venue where that happens (the robbers could have been violent and looking to take more than just the food..).“

“Had a wide selection of different things for anyone's palate. The people behind the counter were lovely. The food was fresh and wrapped so well it stayed warm even after waiting for the shuttle for almost forty minutes. The man behind the counter was so welcoming and helped me find my way to the shuttle stop when I was beyond lost. Overall 100/10 service. If I ever come back to South San Francisco this will be on my list of stops.“

“The lemonade here is not the syrupy kind, it strikes the perfect zingy balance that you’d want on a warm day. The prosciutto and chicken sandwich was tasty, and the balsamic glaze in it nailed it. It added the tang it was meant to without taking over. It’s self-service, but they are quick and efficient. With benches, and high stools, the space leans industrial, amd somehow it all works together.“

“We recently ate here during our vacation in Pacifica. I actually heard of the restaurant from a tiktok video. We ordered the steak sandwhich and they were delicious!! “Ordered the Vegan Litacanrana with sour dough bread via uber eats. Firstly it was so nice to have a few vegan options to choose from but I do miss my old favorite non-vegan Dutch crunch bread.

The sour dough wasn’t as satisfying or crunchy as it was pretty ‘overly bread-y’ but still grateful for it being a vegan option 🤞🏼. I loved that they gave me extra vegan sauce as it was delicious but maybe it was the sourdough that was too much but I don’t think I’d order this same flavor combo again next time - nothing negative to say but that I’d probably try a different combination“

“Convient location with parking. My only complaint is my order was wrong. I ordered for the parmesian bread but was given the white bread, which was incredibly chewy and hard to bite. This is my second time coming to this location and I usually like Togo's so this is not deal breaker. But this was definitely not the experience I expected.“

“I have been coming to this Subway location for many years, usually when I am in the area where I am in need of a quick bite. It has also been a long time since I had a Subway sandwich. You might not notice this place when driving by since it is basically hidden and like a hole in the wall. The interior is compact and very clean. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never encountered an issue during any of my visits. Everything is fresh and made to order just the way I like it and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. They offer basic sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, cookies, pizza, etc. Promotions and deals are usually available daily, such as a six inch combo meal which includes the sub of the day, a drink and a bag of chips at your choice for a reasonable price. Dine in is an option, they have a few tables inside or you can enjoy your meal outside on their round metal table. Delivery is available through DoorDash or Ubereats. I recommend this place if you are on a limited time, if you need a quick bite just like me or if you just so happen to be in the area. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“
