The atmosphere is comfortable and our family of 6 was able to eat a decent meal here for less than it would've cost to purchase a united lounge access pass for the 2 kids who didn't qualify. This pic is what was leftover. We only ordered 5 meals for 6 of us and we still couldn't eat everything.“

“Gillian & Gina run a beautiful business. My favorite thing to do is to make a reservation and bring friends to get the traditional Afternoon Tea Service. They also offer a more casual walk-up menu. This menu includes assorted Tea Sandwiches, Scones served with Clotted Cream and Preserves, Crumpets served with Meyer Lemon Curd, Assorted Sweets and a large variety of Loose-Leaf Teas. Everything is delicious. Also this past year they have been generously hosting Pop Ups for local makers. They also have lots of treasures for sale. Lovey's is a wonderful place.“

“Second time here and it was just as good as the first! Came in on a Monday night for dinner and they were packed, but no line which was great.

Went with their pork broth and I gotta say it had great flavor and their beef ribeye was tender! You can taste the quality in their meats. The grill and side dishes are always a plus.

“This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the Bay Area. One of the reasons is because they have a good selection of banchans. They offer a small fish that comes as a standard banchan.

We ordered Soondubu seafood and fish roe with Japchae as an appetizer. The Japchae was on the sweeter side and I wish it had a little more char flavor. Overall still a good dish. Portion sizes are generous. The soondubu’s had plenty of addins.“

“This is a charming coffee shop just a minute's walk from the beach. It has two floors with plenty of seating, and throughout our visit, there was beautiful live piano music playing. They also offer some specialty coffee drinks. I really love this place!“

“The food here is good and so is the coffee. They offer açaí bowls, breakfast options, and a bakery that is completely Brazilian. So if you’re Latino and want to try something different from the usual spots, this is a great choice. The dishes are very healthy and while this location doesn’t have an espresso machine, so coffee options are somewhat limited, what they do have is tasty.

If you’re planning to order by phone, make sure to call ahead as it can get pretty busy and your order might take a while. Overall, it’s a good café, affordable, flavorful, and a nice break from the typical spots. If you’re in the mood for something non-traditional, give it a try.“

I ordered 6 dishes total and it was only a little over $100 subtotal, wow, can't get this amount of food anywhere else in the bay area!! All the dishes came piping hot (thanks to the door dash driver) and each container was filled to the brim! I felt like this $100 was well spent, I'm so glad I found this little gem. “I'm a sucker for old-fashioned diners, the ones that seem stuck in time, stubbornly holding on to nostalgia when it was king in its glory days, back before chain restaurants and cookie-cutter decor and brands.

They hold a special allure when you're traveling down the byways where they still thrive, but they're especially precious when you find them in urban areas where they compete with fast-food conglomerates.

So I don't take places like Gunter's for granted, an old establishment (South San Francisco) in the midst of urban blandness of homogeneity. They're still places where old men gather swapping tall tales and spar politics over Farmer Brothers coffee brand to while their time away.

This genre seems to be a fleeting gem of Americana as I see many of them boarded up and closed down even along the blue highways. So in your travels, take a moment to patronize these places before too many of them disappear as victims of people's preference for national brands and indifference.“

The ladies here are so kind, the Christmas decorations are everything, and they’re playing Christmas music. It's made to order so expect to wait a bit longer for it compared to the dishes on their storefront menu. They even have vegan bubble tea! Both were great to bring on the plane when I know there's not in plane options.“

“Atlas is a unique place. I’ve stopped by with friends for an event but not really had the full Atlas experience until tonight. I had one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The Italian garlic combo! Friendly staff, wine and beer, tonight there was live music on the patio area. Max the owner is a wonderful host who is very active in the San Bruno community. Atlas is bringing good times back to down town San Bruno. Make it one of your first post pandemic stops!“

“This is a Coffee House owned and operated by a local resident family. Yes, I’m a past employee from when the Granola’s opened. “Ever thought of trying a local small business, family restaurant. The guy who runs this place came from Turkiye in 2008. Settled down in SFO, had a family and is living an American dream.
His only complaint is SFO is expensive. Well we can all agree to that.
Food is very tasty.
We tried falafel wrap, chicken gyro and kids gyro with rice. All of these were of great quality. Plus the Turkish delight was fabulous. Owner shared Turkish tea on the house. Plus I ordered fries in kids meal but it came with rice instead. No worries he added fries and refused to take money for it. Well I made it up in the tip.
If you are south SFO and crave Mediterranean food. This is the place.“
