“I’ve come here many times—it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The beef noodle soup is my go-to, but honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite because everything is delicious.

Highly recommend the dumplings—they’re handmade, and you can even buy them frozen at a great price. The server reminds me of my aunties, and the food tastes like grandma made it. It’s like a cozy Sunday at mom’s, and she just brought out the menudo.

“Great location on the 2nd floor of the Weller Court shopping center! They validate parking and have very fast service. You can order 50% off the regular menu or do all you can eat sushi. They were on time, the food was hot and fresh, and each item was boxed in plastic containers. Egg rolls and rice were in traditional take out paper containers. If an item has pan-fried noodles, then the noodles and the sauce is packaged separately so the dish itself will be fresh. Also, each box for a part of an item was labeled so we'd know what goes with which food item. Soup came in soup containers and also in plastic bags so the soup wouldn't spill accidentally. The food is traditional Cantonese Chinese food. We ordered BBQ Pork, Won Ton Soup, Green Pepper Beef, Chicken Egg Foo Young, Beef Pan Fried Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Vegetable Egg Rolls. The flavors of the meat and vegetables are fresh! The egg rolls are crispy and delicious! The food is low in sodium! Fortune cookies were free with great fortunes! “This is a really nice cafe in Downey. They have free wifi, many snacks and nice boba. The boba menu is great. The smoothie and fruit tea are nice too. I was looking for a quit spot to dine alone and stopped in. The server was great in bringing me a menu and then getting my order. I tried the Truffle sushi roll. I love seaweed salad and the fact it was on the menu.

Sushi, seaweed salad, non alchoholic Stella rosa, and some french music in my earbud turned into a pleasantly laid back solo dinner out.“

The concept: a no frill take on the very best of Asian foods from Japan, China and Korea.

Service: the service at the Barn is amazing. The waiters that work there are all cool and welcoming when you come in, although,
It’s not a red carpet kind of place m, they know you are there for the food! They’ve managed to reduce a number of steps which allows you to get your foods faster. Ordering is done on your mobile device via a QR code by your table. Almost as soon as you ‘submit your order,’ food starts arriving! I absolutely love this and wish more restaurants would adopt this. The waiters regularly come by and are always more than happy to grab something out missed it. Clicking ‘request check’ on the mobile device and they will bring the ticket by promptly.

Food:
The absolute highlight of the barn is the chefs creations. The Green Beans are absolutely to die for. I don’t know what the special ingredients they use are, but my mouth is watering thinking about this speciality! They offer yakitori; the teriyaki chicken is a favorite along with the wagyu beef. The bacon wrapped asparagus is on the regular order list, along with the cheese corn which is some of the best I’ve had. I don’t get it every time I’m there but the spicy firecracker chicken wings are amazing!

Ambiance:
A single row of tables line the restaurant adorn with cool decorations throughout the restaurant. One of my favorite things about visiting the barn is the eclectic choice of music they play which changes up every night.
