“This place is incredible! I’ve only ever had katsu sandos from Japan at local convenience stores (Family Mart & 7-11), they were delicious however they weren’t super fresh and weren’t crispy due to having to be microwaved. I wanted a taste of Japan so sought out some Katsu sandos and landed here. It far exceeded my expectations. I got the Rosemary Katsu Sando with Spicy Mayo. The chicken was audibly crispy and fresh, the bread nice and soft, and the spicy mayo was the perfect level of spice and the perfect compliment to the sandwich. I got a side of waffle fries which were arguably the best waffle fries i’ve ever had, they were perfectly crispy and had a light seasoning that gave them an amazing taste and set them apart from the waffle fry competition. Nice portions on the sando however it’d be nice to fit in some more fries. I had a bite of one with berry sauce and it was too sweet for my liking but still good, i’ll be sticking with the spicy mayo (or maybe try the baja chipotle sauce). I wish they had more drink options such as homemade lemonade.Katsu Bar: 9.6/10“
“This is my go-to hot pot spot in OC. I stopped going to boiling point a long time ago. They have such a long line, pricey, and a small portion. This place always has a plenty of seats with a nice ambiance, and customer service is very quick and efficient. If you go there for lunch, they give you free iced black/green tea. I“

I especially liked the stir fry shrimps with the sauce, beef ribs, green beans, mushrooms, sui mai, custard bao. “Lunasia is always a solid choice for dim sum these days no matter what city Cerritos, Monterey park or Pasadena. All of them have a decent sized menu. Whether you're craving dim sum for lunch or dinner it's always good. Depending on where you go the staff is always busy, Monterey park has a pretty long line most of the time. But you can also try and order through the kiosk, app or online. If you don't mind waiting in line for a Chinese dining experience then you'll get the full Saturday and Sunday lunch experience. Overall they're always pack let and very busy but the food is solid.“

The lady there was very sweet and we got our food pretty quickly. The place was empty but everything was clean. “Nice little gem we recently found. Place was clean & inviting and one of the cooks did a great job explaining the menu to us. We ordered the cheese Katsu meals and the portions are perfect! Really enjoyed the salad and dressing that topped it. Bowl of miso and rice were the perfect touch to complete the meal. Cheese katsu was amazing and the food was hot and fresh and the service was great. Definitely going to put this on our list of "places to return to"“
“Every Once in a While the Best Surprise is One You Never Saw Coming! The Bowl & Plate Eatery is Exactly That!!! Driving south on Magnolia Street in Anaheim Sunday, Feb. 25 around 6pm. Just before I reached Ball Road, I remembered there used to be a 'hole-in-the-wall' Italian restaurant tucked into the northeast corner of a little strip mall there. It's been a while so I wasn't sure what I'd find but I made the left turn into the parking lot to explore. No more Italian restaurant (sigh). But in its place I see a quaint looking sign proclaiming the new establishment's name: The Bowl & Plate Eatery. Some quick Internet searching gave sufficient details to convince me to enter...that and my growling stomach! A tasteful and minimalist small dining area offered seating for perhaps 15 guests. Upon my arrival this particular Sunday evening, I was one of three. The owner gestured for me to take a seat, brought over a menu and offered a smile so warm and bright I knew she loved what she was creating here. Seriously, her exuberance was evident in abundance. I'm now even more convinced I made the right choice for this evening's dinner. I won't list the whole menu but I will speak of my selections: - Chicken Vegetable Dumplings - Steak Salad - Choco Roti with Ice Cream Everything is infused with blended Asian flavors. The dumplings were perfectly seared on the bottom, offering a nice crispy-crunch with every bite. Their dipping sauce added just the right amount of 'Zip!' without being overpowering. The steak salad was heaping with fresh leafy greens of several varieties and the steak bites were perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned. The Choco Roti with ice cream was a last minute addition and WOW! am I glad I did. Small wedges of delicately toasted flat bread, drizzled with sweet icings and a touch of cinnamon, served with a healthy scoop of vanilla ice cream, also drizzled with icing. A great combination of sweetness and savory to end a fantastic meal. Mind you, The Bowl & Plate Eatery is not staffed by a team of experts, cranking out cookie-cutter meals-o-plenty. No No! It was staffed by the owner of that amazing smile, who also happens to own the restaurant. She handled it all, from greeting and seating, to explaining, order taking, meal preparing and serving. She's even her own busboy! And all of it in a timely, orderly manner. No rushing nor resting. A model of efficiency and a skilled chef t'boot. No need to ask if I will return. I will have to add this to my monthly restaurant sojourn list. The owner said she's been there for 3 years now and I fault myself for not discovering The Bowl & Plate sooner. And please note, this is not the steam-table Asian food take-out style place. This is well-crafted dishes prepared with passion and heaped with love of craft. Yes, you'll pay a bit more for this but with every bite you'll know it is So, SO Worth It! I'm hopeful The Bowl & Plate is well-visited to keep it in business. “Called in an order today based on recommendations on Yelp! The person taking my order was very quick and helpful. He said it would be ready in 15/20 minutes. Located on Del Amo/Bellflower it was easy to find. Large lot but very busy as there are a few food stores there. There was a small line ordering when we arrived. Two of the six tables available were taken. I noticed on the menu board Wednesdays are $1 a wing day. We were served by a very friendly associate who grabbed our order promptly. My order consisted of 6 Garlic Parm Wings 6 Sweet and Spicy Wings. Garlic Noodles with Tri Tip and a Ninja Quesadilla The food was great, very tasty and spicy where it needed to be. “Went at 5:30-6:30 and there was no one in the restaurant. So as I sat down and ordered the shaken beef with fries not sure what to expect. However when the food came I was quite surprised with the quality, with the beef chunks being perfectly seasoned and tender as can be and the fries being crispy on the outside with a soft and warm interior. I went with family and ordered 5 other dishes, all of which also surpassed all expectations and left us satisfied and collectively agreeing this place is much too underrated for the quality and value of the food.“

The ambiance is super cute with the cherry blossom tree and the art on the wall with the chicken. This is a cashless place since they recently got robbed. So make sure to help out this small business!I got the original hainan chicken rice. Everything was flavorful and spiced right. The sauces that came with it was perfect. I love how chicken is cooked steamed as it was juicy and not try. I would get this again. If you're sick, get their herbal chicken soup. It has 5 spices and Gojo berry, which is beneficial when you're sick. I definitely will be back here to try their bubble teas too!“

Toasted with cucumbers, daikon, cilantro, fresh jalapenos with a little added soy sauce and special mayonnaise like sauce. Really like the fact that it's toasted and it has cucumbers, unlike some other banh mi places I've tried. Vietnamese coffee and soy bean drinks and service were excellent as well. We will be back. My husband wanted to order the combo half soy garlic, half spicy. Good thing the guy warned me that spicy is really spicy. So I ended up ordering a few spicy strips for my husband. For the combo, I ordered soy garlic and the new flavor (I forgot what it is called but it's less spicy). The chicken was crispy even after a ten minute drive home. My family thought the soy garlic was the best. I tasted the spicy chicken and it was super spicy for me. It left an aftertaste in my mouth for a while. Their kimchi and radish were alright. Nothing special. Overall, I would come back, but next time only order the wings. The drumstick meat was a bit tasteless after you eat the skin.“

“The debate I have every week is should I stick to my reliable eateries or try a new place. Well it's time to take one for the team again. This place used to be Bun Bo Hue Công Lý and now offers a numbers of Vietnamese dishes. When you look at the menu with so many dishes you can't help but wonder if any of them is their specialties. The waitress suggested we tried cơm niêu, cá kho niêu and gỏi gà lòng trứng non. I also ordered cháo lòng and ca tím nướng. The low down: Cơm niêu (and all the niêu dishes come in metal niêu not clay pots) does give you the crispy rice in the bottom of the pot so that's a plus. Ca kho tasted a little weird and I think that's from the popular Vietnamese hot sauce (they tend to put that in a lot of dishes in Vietnam). I didn't taste the caramelized goodness of fish sauce,sugar and pepper. When it comes to cá kho tộ Thành Ðô or Quán Hương can take this place to school. Gỏi gà (which the waitress strongly recommended) was too sour. I might be wrong but this is the taste of miền trung VN cuisine. Southern Vietnamese dishes usually have the sweetness to balance the sourness. When I asked for some dipping sauce the owner brought me lime,salt and black pepper sauce. Basically it was white onions,chicken innards, rau răm plus the dressing made of salt,pepper and lime. Needless to say that was not what I expected. The grill eggplant was decent but the smoke flavor from the gas grill (not charcoal) was overwhelming. The cháo lòng was ok and you can find better nearby. I don't want to give any business especially the new one less than 5 stars but this place doesn't deserve that excellent rating. I will give this place another try and I sincerely hope they will improve I order to do well because around here good enough is not good enough.“

Their fish is fresh and doesn't have any fishy smell that's noticeable if the fish becomes old. Serving sizes are generous on all fish and mixings. The attendants where both courteous and listens to whatever you want added in short service was promptly done on all your orders.“

My daughter & I wanted to try their drinks. This shop is new & it's located in a strip mall near the other food & drink places. It's near Sprouts if you have a difficult time finding it. Vita Cane services healthier alternatives for rehydration. I chose the Mojito Orange Bang & my daughter chose the Coco Melon. As I took a few sips of the Mojito Orange Bang, it tasted very similar to this fruit called Calamansi. The drink itself was sweet & a little sour, but very refreshing. I want to try their Lemon Berry Berry cane & the Fire Dragon. The staff were so sweet & friendly. The ambiance was very vibrant. There is a giant mural & bright LED signs inside the shop. Bathrooms are clean as well.“
