02/20 update: can not believe that I have not been back here for 3 years, as we normally go to New Capital for dim sum.
Came around 9:30am, got seated, and made our orders right away. Unfortunately, the chefs do not come until 10am, so certain items on the menu are not available. That said, items we ordered are delicious. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back soon.“

“I had the bugolgi rice bowl and it was so delicious. I love all the veggies they add to it. Portions are good too which is nice. Way better than waba grill or other similar places. Definitely worth coming back. I will be trying more items on the menu!“

“Great date spot, sure to impress! The katsu has a rich flavor and superior texture, melt in your mouth with a layer of crunch. The Matcha Yuzu Ade was so good my partner and I started making our own at home. Kind staff as well, we sat at the booth and it was fun watching the kitchen. “Absolutely delicious! I decided to try this place today and I'm immediately reviewing to get people to support this local gem. I had the tofu vegetable combo plate and it was tasty as hell. The tofu was soft, the veggies had the perfect bite, and the brown sauce was well seasoned. The entire dish was warm and light enough that I almost cleaned my plate despite it being so satisfying. I'm happy I was able to bring some home for later and will be going back regularly now!“

“Our dinner was delightful and authentic thai dishes , the staff were kind & attentive and the food service was quick and affordable as well, that’s why we did ordered a lot, because it was reasonable, thou unable to take more food pictures .I highly recommend the beef curry, steamed chicken , pad Thai, chicken satay skewers , crispy fish pompano’ , crab fried rice , mango sticky rice for dessert . We will surely comeback to this restaurant again.

We would like to suggest that extra staff will be hire especially for dinner and weekends, more training for new FOH staff , especially maintaining on cleanliness for the better, the menu’s should be change , cleaner , more readable and well laminated.. Thank you !!!“

“This was extra special day Mama time sweet day! because it was our mama time while the kids were in school—a chance to slow down, catch up with a friend, and enjoy a peaceful meal together. We loved this cute little corner we discovered in Walnut. The space is cozy, clean, and thoughtfully arranged—perfect for relaxing and chatting without feeling rushed.

The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and polite. The hospitality really stood out and made us feel at home.
Delicious small bite & beautifully prepared dish! We tried the mini yubu sushi, which were fun, flavorful, and perfectly portioned for sharing.
The donburi bowl with seared salmon was so good—fresh, satisfying, and beautifully balanced. We also enjoyed the sweet shrimp & tobiko combination, which tasted very fresh and light.

Everything felt small enough to sample more, yet still filling and satisfying. Wanted to tried 9 yubu sushi. Owner said stop tried 4!! Too much food for beautiful ladies to handle LoL 😆 it is true. Honestly, we wanted to try even more items, but our stomachs were already full!

There are so many items on the menu we’re excited to come back for—especially the specialized sushi selections and the Chef’s Combo Rice Bowl. This is definitely a place worth returning to when you want thoughtful food, a calm atmosphere, and friendly service.

Such a lovely spot for a casual meet-up, a quiet lunch, or foodie exploring. Just a recommendation bigger tables for people who want to order more food and for bigger group size. The only suggestion I would appreciate so I can bring more friends over. Next time I’ll try different drinks. I thought mine was a little bit sweet. With mango and matcha tea.

And the owners are friendly and awesome to talk with.

You never have to wait in line for too long either.

They also have free drink refills.

The free drink refills adds to the value of the meal.

“I am from out of town i am here visiting my sister in the hospital. I was looking for a good teryaki plate for my wife and I. I read reviews and I decided to try hi bbq. The customer service was great,the price was good and the food was excellent. The ginger dressing was tangy and really good for the salad. The chicken and steak was flavorful and the macaroni salad was really good. Until my sister comes home this will be the place we will go to. If you are looking for really good food at a good price I highly recommend hi bbq. Also the staff was really nice and the place is very comfortable.“

“We love Joy. My family have been regulars for many many years. Food is awesome. Service is great, servers friendly. Only bummer, when we, as a family, went to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, we presented a gift certificate my husband & I were gifted from my Kids. It was issued at the end of 2019, expired at the end of 2020. Because of Covid we did not venture out until late last year. They did not not honor it. A little bit of a disappointment, but not going to keep us from frequenting our fav local sushi restaurant.“

“We have been going to Chopsticks House locations for more than 25 years, but this was our first time to this one (after 2 othe locations recently closed). Same great food, same great service. Perfect location for us to meet folks halfway from LA-area for lunch.“

“My son absolutely loved their pancakes back in Canada, and he drove all the way here to buy them during his trip to the US. “Great little hidden gem of a resturaunt. food is always delicious with plenty of options to suit just about anyone's tastes. owners are very nice and do a wonderful job managing and maintaining the quality of food. atmosphere is more of a modern Cafe feel than traditional of the culture and the fox theme is absolutely adorable. I highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for a nice little place with traditional flavors and modern twists. We will be returning again soon to done among the foxes!“

“Great selection of drinks, probably one of the better milk tea shops around the SGV. However, it is not the first time I have experienced poor service from the staff. It usually takes a lot from me to post a negative comment, especially for a place I really like. Needless to say, I hope the owner takes care of this matter before his/her business goes under.“
