“Waited in the rain for about 40 minutes. Was glad this place didn't dissappoint. Beef Bowl, Dumplings, and Beef Noodles were really good. I got so full I couldn't try the Dan Dan Noodles or Spicy Beef Soup. Not pictures was the shrimp fried rice which was also tasty. Would come back again.“

“I enjoyed this place a lot. It was a little bit hard to find at first, as it is located above the supermarket. The server was very friendly, helping me to find a good vegetarian option. The cold sesame noodles were tasty and refreshing, and the price is not bad ($8.99). The dining area is spacious and comfortable.“

“A real gem of a place among a lot of average Chinese restaurants in this area. The Peking duck itself is done in a style that seems authentic to Beijing, though it may not suit everyone's tastes especially those with a canto preference. Majority of the banquet restaurants in SGV have a Cantonese slant to Peking duck dishes (lotus buns, sweeter hoisin sauce, slightly more caramelized skins) but I'm not trying to draw too much of a comparison here as its just fundamentally different.
Duck House was fantastic in terms of flavor and preparation of the duck. The skin was super crispy, the meat tasted fairly lean yet succulent, and the sauce/condiments paired very well. Delicious, and upscale, though I would say for one duck and only 10 pancakes, it was nearly $100 and I don't think it was so outstanding to warrant that price. We added 5 lotus buns and 5 add'l pancakes which bumped it to $110. It did however feed 3 adults and 2 young kids fully, so about $20 pp is pretty decent for fancy duck.“

“Best sushi in LA! Everything melted in your mouth! The fish is fresh, the price is affordable, and the service is great! It looks like a hole in the wall - but wow :)) We eat there once a week and love it! Drove all the way from Studio City to have dinner there - 2 hours each way in traffic - so that's obviously what it says :)) Haha Just love it!“

“It's easily the best Banh Mi joint in all of SoCal. This place tops them all. The attention to detail is superb. They come individually packaged in a box, sauce, and veggies on the side to keep the sandwich crisp. Bread made in house, probably, based on the way the bread has irregular edges and the overall quality. Bread is soft and light in the middle and extra crispy on the outside. The best sandwich here is the Roasted Pork. Listen, there's the usual dry roasted pork you get from those roasted duck houses, and then there's this. All you foodies know what im talking about. This roast is simply done right. It's crispy and light skin around soft juicy meat and fat. No hard glass shards breaking off a over done wet roasted pork belly here. It's roasted to perfection. You know it's cooked at a perfect 165 to retain the juices. The chef really really knows what he/she is doing. Don't expect all meat and no fat. It's not a bourgeois place. And dont expect a 12 dollar rip off. It's not that either. It's a wholesome mom and pop join that service fair priced $7.50 specialty sandwiches that you can't even compare to quality in Vietnam's best joint. Come here with confidence, it's simply the best Banh Mi in all of Southern California. I'm willing to bet the best for its price in all of the US and Vietnam combined. Go try it and you will definitely agree. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.“

“This spot is super cute and also offered a Thanksgiving special (11/24-11/27 where they give you a pineapple bun sandwich when you spend over $50.
I would come back even when they don’t have a Thanksgiving special! Really good comfort food.“

“First time every eating in a restaurant on a styrafoam plate, but it didn't take away from my meal. Tried out their noodles with beef and I found it to be quite tasty with the sauce. Small simple little place, tempted to return for their breakfast and evening specials“

“Parking was good. Food is good for reasonable cost. Service is good. No sign on the back door so you can't tell if it's the correct place. I had yellow chicken curry. It was good tasting with good, but not perfectly cooked chicken. The curry is very watery. I used 2/3 of it, and it made my rice an unpleasant soggy consistency. Spice level is pretty spot on.“

It's a relaxing restaurant.“

“The human touch of a bowl of noodles⋯When I used to work at a newspaper in Mengcheng City, I would go to this Shanghai aunt’s noodle shop with other reporters to dine ?She remembered our preferences and faces after several visits. We didn’t meet for a while after leaving the job. One day we met by chance on the road, and my aunt still remembered me!After chatting for a while and saying goodbye, she said that she wanted to treat her to a meal next time she went to a restaurant. I didn't take it to heart. Until a few days ago, I drove by and wanted to eat their bowl of noodles. When I walked in, she was talking on the phone to take orders. When she saw my eyes widened, she asked me to sit down. Not long after, my dry noodles were served. Plus a red oil snack as a treat. This bowl of noodles is quite special. It is neither fried noodles nor sesame noodles, but fried sesame noodles mixed with two sauces. The menu is called "Strange Flavor Noodles". The taste is quite rich. When eating, you should mix it with raw cucumber. The noodles, sauce and refreshing cucumber naturally form a delicious balance that makes you want to take another bite.Maybe it's so strange. After eating it for the first time, I ordered this bowl of noodles from the store every time I came back. Several times when I walked into the store, my aunt yelled at the kitchen, knowing that this was what I ordered. While eating noodles, we talked about many things, including the decline of the newspaper office, and many people left! There are all new faces now, and the lively scenes before are no longer there. I smiled and said, many old employees should come back to see you, right? She laughed and said that it was true. Every once in a while, old faces come to reminisce, including me who showed up today. When she was leaving after the meal, she waved her hand and said don't give me any money. I said give me a tip! I just left the money on the table and emphasized that I would still come back. Not only was this bowl of noodles the most important thing, the human touch was priceless.“

“There are only so many Korean spots in Monterey Park, so I come to Lee's every now and then for some Korean comfort food. Even though the menu prices are a little higher than your average Korean meal, the service and taste never misses. I love the tofu soups, kimbap, cold noodles, and ban chan. Also can't go wrong with any of their meats or variety of entrees they have!“

“One of my go-tos for comfort food, I love their laksa, which is not too spicy and always packed with flavor. Hainan chicken is super juicy and pork cutlet is crispy. The place has a very homey feel and is a family-run restaurant. Lots of street parking and a big lot across the street too.“

“Wonderful choices of food here. I like the atmosphere as well. Bouncy perfect beef with udon noodles, perfectly delightful salt and pepper squid, green beans with fish filet was pretty generous, black pepper filet mignon was good as well as the fish maw, crab meat soup. Don't forget the white pepper and red vinegar. They have a nice big tub of chili oil on the table, too.“

“The only bun bo hue I'll get outside of little Saigon!
Typically I go get Vietnamese food in little Saigon since I'm from there and no other Viet food compares for the price.
However, this particular Saturday evening it would've been more of a drive, so I decided to try this spot! Price was pretty reasonable, portions were huge and from the first sip of my broth, I could tell it was delicious.
Also bonus point for the owners children who were running around and kept my baby entertained while she was eating so my husband and I could actually eat!“

“From the outside this looks like a hole in the wall place in a strip mall but inside it's huge and magical! We had a party of 200 people in there and there was still areas for other pattons.
Aside from most of the staff not speaking English to tell us what we were eating when it was brought out we figured it out and everything was uniquely different in its own way!
I usually take food pics but I didn't this time! P.S beer was only 5 bucks a bottle!“

“It was a great experience. They had so many food options and a good number of things that just triggered your nostalgia. Makes me not want any of the frozen stuff anymore, it tastes so much better when it's fresh. Especially the chicken pot pie, a fresh one is significantly better fresh than the frozen stuff.“

“This place has the most delicious food ive ever eaten. Im being real. I don't even live nearby but I get this as often as I can just so I can eat the chicken taquitos. If I was on death row my last meal request would be the taquitos. I dream about them. Im being serious. Go here. Get taquitos. And then think to yourself wow I wish I had gotten these taquitos earlier in my life, how much taquito-ing have I missed out on by not getting these more often!??!! Also the workers are really nice and it's a small business and you already know about supporting small businesses. Forreal.“

“Did you know the SGV is home to a Michelin Guide ramen spot? 🔥 Tucked into a small strip in Monterey Park, this establishment is one of those spots that doesn’t rely on flash to stand out — the food speaks for itself. As a Michelin Guide-listed ramen shop, it’s built a reputation for quality, and after our visit, it’s easy to see why.
Here’s what we enjoyed:
🍗 Kaarage — crispy + tender, pairs well with the dipping sauce.
🍣 Tuna Crispy Rice — my fave app!
🐖 Chashu Buns — flavorful and soft
🍜 Mazemen — exclusive to this location + packed with flavor! Slight tanginess adds the perfect touch!
🍥 Shoyu ramen — rich broth & tender chashu!
🌱 Vegan ramen — creamy and packed with yummy veggies.
Hironori nails the balance of comfort and quality without trying too hard. Highly recommend a visit to experience it all!“

“I love coming to T-Kebob! However, the last time I came here I noticed their prices have jumped and they no longer serve their lamb and beef skewers in orders of 10. This is my favorite spot for skewers though and their corn cheese is perfect! They've also switched brands for their Taiwanese sausage and it doesn't taste as good.“

“This is a Taiwanese restaurant, nothing fancy but old style Taiwanese comfort food. It's not even a big restaurant, but a small one. Their salt and pepper chicken with basil is top notched as well as stinky tofu. They don’t really have a server but only the owner and yet they provide good service. This restaurant has hand made dumplings which you can buy and bring home to cook. Overall, a good and authentic Taiwanese food.“

“Absolutely the smallest place you can imagine. 90% kitchen for the owner (?) to work in. A tiny bench, no ventilation inside. No indoor/outdoor dining...
But this place is ALL ABOUT THE FOOD!!!
Great sushi!!!
Excellent price, due to little overhead costs!!!
Get your food and enjoy it wherever you want, probably not inside though.
The slices of salmon are excellent!!! Fat and thick!!!
Eel is excellent!!!
It is recommended you order ahead, he is a solo team and is hard at work in the kitchen!!!
The only thing I wished for is some kind of chicken bowl. He already has the rice, he just needs to toss some chicken into a pan...but I understand he specializes in sushi and doesn't want added complexity to his operation.
I highly recommend this place!!!“

“Good Place/ Stupid Security Guard!!!!
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE STUPID SECURITY GUARD THAT IS RUDE BEYOND WORDS. He scared away so many customers. He was just rude!! Restaurant is great!!! I was told the landlord is worse!! I don’t want retaliation so I won’t post details. But, the restaurant is great. The security guard hassled us despite not having a Handicap parking or trash can on site. He used scared tactics that he’d arrest us with our elderly handicapped parents in the car. He should not be working there, actually not any where else either for that matter!!!“

“Honestly I hate to write reviews for places I truly love and hold dear to my heart. Because I dont want it to be overpopulated with people and get too over hyped!! But I also want them to stay around for a while so I guess I am writing a review!
This hole in a wall place sells the most delicious noodles. Their #1 special with variety of meat is delicious and I highly recommend trying it. You can choose noodles to your liking - i personally love their thin egg noodles, but the world is your oyster!
I do recommend bringing some cash, they have limited parking in the back but honestly street parking isn't bad around the area. I always come here for comfort food, and it always hits the spot!!!!!
my all time favorite noodle place I been neglecting to leave review but now am because i felt its time the world need to know what an amazing place this is!
they have booths and tables, + hot tea is always a bonus
yes bathrooms too“

“This local place hidden inside the business buildings of Monterey Park is a great, local find. Simple, yet cute decorations with positive affirmations posted everywhere—even the restroom. A tasty, modest menu, that has some Mexican and Hawaiian flavors. We went for breakfast and ordered the Rice Plates: Spam or Portuguese Sausage, Standard Breakfast Burrito, and Make-Your-Own omelette. Solid and filling food. BUT, the most alluring part is the family-owned business. A true, local find owned by a daughter with her mother working and helping out. A small but hard-working staff from the cook to the back kitchen. So friendly, warm and kind. A place to visit and support for all Monterey Park residents.“
“This spot is my favored. I eat in many restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The team is very cordial and the cooking they offer is so appetizing. I would always prefer to have a decent dinner here. Highly recommended.“
