“Had a great first experience here tonight. Food was very tasty and plentiful. More importantly, the staff was friendly and full of funny banter. Cannot understand any of the bad reviews about the service. The entire crew was friendly, attentive and helpful. E will definitely be back again!“
“Really great Greek restaurant in North Park area. The food was all delicious, juicy burger, filling yummy mousaka, the chicken kabobs where tasty! This is a great spot, i cant wait to try the sponakita! Good parking , great deserts, wine selection, friendly service, the smells ?“
“We walked in expecting to grab a quick styrofoam meal for dinner and bounce. Instead, we were treating to a three course meal. The first, lentil soup, was some of the best soup I’ve ever had including all my travels abroad. The dash of lemon was a perfect compliment. Next was a simple salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, purple onion, and goat cheese with a delicious oil based dressing. The main courses were equally incredible. My gyro plate was so tender and the tzatziki sauce was perfect. The owner, Nadir, was so kind and running the place single handedly. Best chef! What an amazing place we stumbled upon. Take the time and enjoy a dinner here soon!“
“We have wanted to find a Greek restaurant in downtown, and it was quite hard until a neighbor told us about this place. This restaurant is outstanding!! Rosalie is very pleasant, makes amazing cocktails and knows everyone. Authentic Greek food and apps is why we continue to come back to this place.“
“Stopped in for lunch. I had the veggie bowl and husband had the chicken. Both bowls were piled high with different components, each one super flavorful and adding different textures to the bowl. We also enjoyed mint iced tea. Highly recommend!“
“I was introduced to this restaurant at the age of four and it has maintained it's excellent quality and ambience for the decades I have been coming here. The lemon chicken soup is wonderful. The hummus is still the gold standard against to which I compare all other hummus. The chicken kebab, gyros platter and sandwiches, shawarma, essentially everything is wonderful. The artwork and poetry is the owner's own and adds to the wonderful feel of this family-run establishment. The service is always friendly and treats you like family. I love this place and visit whenever I come to San Diego.Vegetarian options: Fatoosh, vegetarian stuffed grape leaves, falafel sandwich, mufasakh sandwich, grilled feta cheese sandwich, spanikopita,“
“Tha bom. They get great ratings for a reason. Their restaurant is a parked food truck which keeps their cost focused mainly on the food. Everything on the menu is sure to delight. They were identified as the best food truck in the NATION a few years ago by Yelp (2020) with over 500 5-star reviews. I was skeptical but was left with no doubts after the first bite of my beef shawarma plate. These guys bust out amazing Aussie Wagyu beef and chicken dishes, all halal, prepped a few different ways and pair them with great hot and garlic sauces. The throughput in the evenings is bonkers so call ahead for pickup to get things hot and fresh. 3-stars for atmosphere only because they're in a parking space. They're outside The Bottle House so be a mensch and pick up your bevvies here too (decent prices and maybe even a tasting of something ta boot).Vegetarian options: They offer a few vegan dishes too. Check their menu in the photos.Dietary restrictions: All meats are Halal!Parking: They get the balance of parking spaces from The Bottle House so you could get lucky. They have a single space blocked off which makes for a quick street spot if you're just picking up. The rest of the parking is on the street and can be tough. There is available paid parking just a stone's throw away in the Target (neé Gala IGA) shopping center. If you're only gonna be there for a pick-up, I'd hold my money (but you didn't hear that from me ?).Kid-friendliness: Put your wee kids up on your shoulders so they can watch the masters at work in the truck.Wheelchair accessibility: You'd have the easiest access in the available parking space closest to the truck outside The Bottle Shop. There are a few disabled parking spots within the block and access ramps throughout South Park.“
“Ordered via GrubHub. Their app needs updating. The combo plate does not state that it comes with salad and drink. I received a call from a cranky old man telling me to pick a different side. They are too busy to be calling me and that we should know what we are doing. Well, update your app! They drenched my sandwich in sauce instead of putting it on the side. It was gross and I had to scrape a lot of it off.“
“Excellent high quality vegan Italian food - think pastas, pizzas, salads. Ordered the caesar salad, the cast iron shells and cheese, and the first horsemen pizza - all was delicious. For dessert ordered a cast iron snickerdoodle cookie which was amazing. Sat indoors as it was a bit chilly but they have a large outdoor patio space with fire/heaters. Staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend.“
“Our family of 4 ordered the combination player and combination dips plate. It's was delicious and plentiful. The flavor is just right and the food came out hot. We definitely will comeback. The music was too loud for us but it was bearable“
“The food sparkled. The falafel was crispy, light, bright. The shawarma was tender, balanced. Plenty of it all. And the company of the servers, owners, workers was delightful. I’m so very happy we ended our night with food here. You should give it a try. Oh and the coffee so rich with “
“Julian was a fantastic server! The food was delicious and I really love the ambiance. It was my friend's first time here and they loved it. The Valentine's day decorations was really pretty too so this is a perfect place to take a date or celebrate something special. Everyone is super friendly, from the host all the way to the manager. I always love coming here because they make you feel so welcome. They had a really good Valentine's day promo going on as well. Booking is a little tricky because it's such a popular spot so I recommend to keep looking during varying times of the day.“
“Great experience, i’ve been here a couple times and everything was okay, but last week the worker that helped us out was amazing, believe her name was Manuela. She was really patient with us when we were trying to decide what to order and even made some suggestions to us, even while she was busy she always came to check up on us. I work at a restaurant so i appreciate good service when it happens.“
“The staff is always helpful. The food is great. Elizabeth was very helpful. I had some deals on my app and she calmly helped me step through ordering so I could get the offers that are available to me. Thank you, Elizabeth. I also think it's great that they remember things about your ordering habits. Pablo seems to know I like 3..4 lemon slices ro season my salmon with. That's what I call customer service. Thanks, Pablo. Please "Like this if you find it helpful". Thank you.Dear Owner,I use to come here a lot. 2...3.. days a week. Please..please..put this restaurant back on the Marriott Eat Around Town program. If I get points for just eating here..I tend to eat here more. Since you stopped being on that program I only eat here like once every 6 months. Think it over. Thanks“
“Such an amazing time! The service was impeccable, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I recommend the raspberry mimosa. It has a beautiful sweet taste. The food was Amazing. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the veggies in the chicken wrap were very fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!!“
“4.5 stars. This is a great fusion of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine. On a Sat afternoon, it wasn't too busy but if the parking lot in front of it is packed, parking could be a problem.I got 3 Shack tacos with gyro, chicken shawarma and the falafel, the shawarma wrap with their spiciest sauces, and a bunch of toppings including the jalapenos, and the side of falafel. The tacos were the best of them all - falafel then gyro then chicken shawarma. The gyro was a little too salty for my liking but the chicken shawarma didn't have enough spice on it, so that's why I preferred the gyro to the shawarma. The falafel was easily the best of them all as the falafel was soft and crunchy and actually complimented the tabouli salad, feta and the tzatziki sauce. The tacos are corn tortillas but they feel a little more like rotis. The wrap was very filling. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked despite choosing the spiciest sauces and the jalapenos. The side of falafel was very tasty. The falafel wasn't too dry but not too oily.I had initially decided to give them 5 stars. However, I had to downgrade to 4.5 stars because the tortilla and the wrap got really soggy very quickly. So, they fell apart more quickly than I would've liked. The salty gyro and not so spicy chicken shawarma were my other reasons.I loved my whole experience and I will definitely be back to eat more of your shack tacos for sure!“
“Wonderful hidden Gem - beautiful aesthetic, amazing food and great service. Had the hummus Tzatziki appetizer and the pita was fresh, warm, and amazing along with the dips. Fungi pizza was awesome. The others in my group loved their food also.Vegetarian options: Pita and Tzatziki and fungi pizza. Maybe others“
“Genuine family business with tasty and authentic cuisine. Me and my partner keep coming back for the lentil soup even though we are not living in SD anymore! Much love from AZ & Germany!!Vegetarian options: Lentil soup is a 10A lot of vegetarian dishesParking: More than enough parking space, dhared parking for multiple businesses“
“Just had dinner there tonight. The service had perfect timing, the food was absolutely delicious. I would however recommend the following:1. Order the chicken2. Ask that your server be Kylie3. Meet the very kind Erin, who is a manager thereParking: Very safe and secure“
“I recently dined at Tak fresh Mediterranean Restaurant, and it was truly a delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a culinary journey. The menu offered a diverse range of Mediterranean dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. From the flavorful hummus to the perfectly grilled kebabs, every dish was a culinary masterpiece. The staff was attentive, providing excellent service without being intrusive. The overall dining experience was exceptional, making this restaurant a definite go-to for anyone craving an exquisite taste of the Mediterranean. Highly recommended!“
“I ordered a chicken kebab plate with Greek salad and grilled vegetables. It was very good. A huge amount of food! The young lady who took my order was very nice and answered my questions, as I had never been there before. The young man who was doing the cooking was very friendly when I went to pick up my food. This location is in the Liberty Public Market, so it was a little different than going to a restaurant. It was Sunday evening and busy; it was hard for me to find a seat, but I eventually did. I enjoyed sitting there watching all the activity going on. If that type of location is not to your liking, I suggest placing a take away order.“
“The food here is excellent! You have to remember to grab your own sauces though. I didn't know that when I got the shawarma plate to go, and didn't realise until I got home that there was no tzatziki sauce or garlic sauce or anything in the bag. Also I got four small triangles of pita for the whole meal, and I will have to remember to ask for extra pita next time. Even so, it was all delicious. The store is well lit and clean, and along with the food counter they also have a good beer and wine selection and a fun atmosphere. I'll be going back for sure!“
“Cafe Royale had some of the best goat meat dish I've had in a while. Fork tender with some flavorful rice green bell pepper and onion. Their red and green salsa's were amazing, the green one felt right at home with a very pleasant spice level yet still having very complex flavor's. The red salsa was sweeter and was a nice palate cleanser for the dish. The staff was pleasant and welcoming with a nice price point for the amount of food. This might be the new spot!“
“Yummmmmmm. So the first time I came, wowowowow so happy to bite down into my gyro wrap.Wow, it's sizable, and the sauces are amazing. I got 3 of them for my kids, and hubby enjoyed the traditional gyro with the pita bread.So... yup. We came back for a second round.“
“Adorable spot tucked into a small part of lot.Owner came out and helped us with the menu; hand delivered folks’ food even with a pick up window; and owner even tossed in a small side of fries for the pup.Hidden walkable gem in north park/city heights cusp. Owner clearly loves what he does and cares for his customers; genuine smile the whole time we were there.Service: efficientFood: outstandingVibe: chillOwner: legendHotel: trivago“
“This place is INCREDIBLE! My wife is half greek and we are always trying to find a place that tastes like her grandfather's home cooking. This place is very authentic. My wife had a huge smile at her birthday. We are not from the area, but will be going every time we are in San Diego.“
“Yo!!!! I love Bica! The food here is simple yet thoughtful and executed with with wonderful care. The coffee is delicious and the folks making my latte are hip, competent and friendly and I love the outdoor warmth from the patio. They keep me coming back more and more over there at Bica. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!“
“Wondered in after reading the sign outside advertising a special. Somalian food I had not ever experienced. I was offered a delicious hot black tea with milk and sugar. I ordered the salmon with rice, and salad. It was SO DELICIOUS. Clove and bay leaf slow cooked rice. The fish lightly crisp on the outside, buttery and cooked to perfection within. Kind courteous Somalian people and culture. I look forward to sharing more, and trying other dishes. Ancient good food.“
“We were greeted by Cyrus, one of the owners and let him know we were newbies, and that we wanted to try new floods and flavors, we were offered information and history of the ingredients of different dishes, based on the specific regions each dish we were interested in.Questions about the various dishes we were considering were answered, and we were given excellent recommendations. They recommended we share our dishes to get more variety, and we did. We sampled from 2 major categories: the stew/ sauces and the grilled. We were not disappointed. We started with #1 Boloni as our appetizer. Flaky dough stuffed with leeks, potatoes green onion and a little bit of spicy red pepper. Have them topped with the garlic and yogurt sauce and enjoy.#34 Afghan Yaghoot Chalao: sweet and sour lamb (or chicken) with cherry gormah, with basimati rice.As well as the #24 Kabob. Combo with boneless, marinated chicken and beef koofta (ground beef seasoned lime, cilantro, and herbs). On this dish, we upgraded to the flavored rice, cooked, and served with a sauce that included fresh carrots and raisens.I recommend the hot black tea, which has a smooth taste flavored by cardamom.Dessert: yes, relax and chat for a bit to make room for pistachio pudding. Just, order it and savor that first bite. A gentle parade of flavors begining with pistachio, a lite citrus, smooth cardamom, and maybe saffron or rose water? I don't know. I just l know I had to pause the conversation to close my eyes and be happy. They have a large variety of foods from throughout the Afghan and Persian regions. You can order many of the main dishes as sides if you want to have a larger variety of dishes to sample.“
“We ordered our food to be delivered and it was such a great experience! First of all, they packed and wrapped the food so nicely to ensure nothing would spill. We ordered the chicken & gryo wrap + side salad, domaldes, spanikopita, and the lemon soup. Everything was absolutely delicious 10/10. Actually the best Mediterranean food we've ever had. You need to go here! I never write reviews but the food was worth witing one.“
“This restaurant is SO GOOD! I have had multiple things off this menu and they are all GREAT!My personal favorites are the sandwich wraps!Chicken shawarma and chicken gyro!Staff is always friendly, one time I stopped in and let, I believe he's the manager (he's awesome) pick out my food! He knew what I usually got and went off that, ended up absolutely loving it!They are spot on with food, nicely priced, fast and efficient!“
“This food truck is a hidden gem in Chula Vista! You can see just how juicy and tender the chicken and beef were in the picture! I usually drive to San Diego to eat mediterranean food because there isn't many options in CV. But now that I found this place, it will definitely be my go to. The meat is flavorful, the pita bread is fluffy, and the tabouli tastes fresh! There's not a long wait time and the service is nice. My only complaint is that I wish they gave more tabouli. Nonetheless, this place is delicious and I recommend getting their garlic sauce too to top off your meal. I will for sure be going more often and trying more things on the menu!“
“Food is great service is ok. The heaters outside can get intense and you'll eat with a burning forehead. Not 5 stars on the food because we got the mocha from seeing a video on Instagram and we just got a black coffee with some flavoring. Wheres the cream?“
“i havent been here in years and I was actually coming for their burger and it no longer here, but that gave me a chance to try a few new things. I convinced my wife to go with the Garlic Lemon Chicken and that my friends deserves a 5 star rating. The customer service also gets 5 stars for going above and beyond. The Gyro Hummus and Koobideh were really good and I am really looking forward to coming back again. I know food prices are going up and it is good food but I didnt think it was quite $20 a plate good. I will still come back, just not as frequent. Nice quiet place for lunch.“
“I never write reviews…even when I really really disliked a place…but I’m literally writing this right after I ate here. First of all, I think the lady that helped me order was named Alexandera…well give her a raise…I haven’t had a better customer service experience in such a long time! And that’s on top of how good the food was! I had the Chx Cream Chop Wrap…and wow! So good!!! And when you add that red sauce that it came with…seriously…mind blown! Not only will I come back…I will tell everyone I know about this place!“
“I last visited this restaurant before COVID epidemic. The owner remembered me. The grilled salmon was just the way I like it, crisp on outside, moist interior! I also had it with banana. The fish curry was very tasty too! This is a nice little unpretentious with very good food. I will return again!“
“This is my go-to restaurant in San Diego. Not a chain, just a family friendly restaurant with nice décor, good service and freshly cooked food featuring Greek specials. Try the Greek Green Beans! Gyro's available and, of course, spanakopita or moussaka. They even flame out the saganaki at your table. But turkey and meatloaf meals and hot sandwiches (cheaper on the lunch menu) are good options, too. Great salads and soups. Eat in our outside on the patio. SUNDAY BRUNCH IS BACK! You don't have to choose between breakfast and lunch-it is all ready for you, whatever your pallet. Decent prices, too.“
“Just had a great meal delivered via DoorDash. I ordered the kabob combo - beef and chicken. The beef was super tender. Generous portion. Loved the flavor of the tzatziki. Really enjoyed it. Definitely the best DoorDash I've had. Travelled well! Probably even more delicious in person. Will absolutely be ordering from them again.“
“January 2024 Update: We stopped in for a late dinner and food was amazing as always. Falafel was great and I always love the pita wraps. Service was friendly and efficient. This is our favorite Kebab Shop for sure. Try the spicy hummus!Always a good place to grab a quick meal. Maybe the food isn’t as fresh as some other Mediterranean restaurants but for fast food it’s always dependable and tastes great. I love the red sauce and the garlic yogurt with my beef and lamb wrap. Try adding the spicy hummus - it adds some nice flavor.“
“I tried the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate. The portions are large so you can probably share this plate. Ordered it with Rice and Salad. Also came with hummus. Everything was delicious. I also tried the whole fried chicken wings which were also very tasty. So if in the mood for Gyros. You definitely should try this place out. Also has many other options on their menu. It's located in the Fiesta Market .“
