“I had the bear flag taco which was ok (plain), the yellowtail taco which was good, caterpillar roll which was good and Smokey bear cocktail which was good. I didn’t taste anything excellent, but staff are friendly. Prices are what you expect for seafood. Very popular place so crowded but surprisingly the wait in line is not too long and there’s usually a few tables open, even on Sat afternoon. There’s an outdoor patio area with umbrellas.“

“This was my first Omakase experience and man, I picked a great one. I was quite surprised that I had to take a car ferry to get here, but that was a cool experience. There are no on-site parking but, parking was available nearby and it's free after 6 pm. The food was incredible. They were on point with presentation, delivery, and taste. I highly recommend it and it's pricey! But, worth the price.“

There was one sushi, chef, fair, and he made us feel so special not to mention how fresh the food was. “I got the chicken bento box with green salad, potstickers, and salmon roll, and for 16$ it was amazing. Overall everything in the bento box tasted fresh, especially the sushi rolls! The bento box can definitely be enough food for 2 meal. Will be returning back, staff/owners are very nice.“

“This sushi restaurant perched on the pier of Newport Beach’s Lido Peninsula is a must-visit. The waterfront marina views are stunning, especially at sunset, and outdoor seating comes with heaters. The atmosphere is dimly lit and intimate. Reservations are recommended. The sushi was excellent and surprisingly affordable. Service was a bit slow, but maybe understandable with a large group.“

“Omgoodness. Fresh, tender and tasty is the only way to describe the expertly crafted sushi and WaSa Sushi & Teppan. We lucked out to have the head sushi chef create our meal. I definitely recommend the sushi instead of the rolls. The rolls were good but a little heavy on the rice while the fish and rice balance on the succulent sushi was perfect. Pricey but worth it.“

“My husband and I have tried the Laguna Beach Starfish location and decided to try the Newport Beach one as well. The food and service here were exceptional and we'll definitely be returning! For sushi we ordered the Lobster macadamia roll and Crab California roll. Both tasted so fresh and we loved the siracha ailoli on each, adds a nice spice flavor.
For an entree, we got the Cambodian black pepper filet with the coconut rice. Definitely recommend, the filet cooked perfectly tender.
As a dessert, we ordered the bread pudding, cooked perfectly and perfectly rich to end the meal.“

They get the orders right even when it's so loud in there. Please is so clean and put together. Roberto is a great chef and Sheila was a nice server and did great job getting our food orders.
