“I got the chicken bento box with green salad, potstickers, and salmon roll, and for 16$ it was amazing. Overall everything in the bento box tasted fresh, especially the sushi rolls! The bento box can definitely be enough food for 2 meal. Will be returning back, staff/owners are very nice.“

“My wife and I absolutely love coming here for Omakase. I have no idea why someone would think that this place would be all you can eat... do a little more research. We've especially enjoyed the atmosphere here because yes you can buy the chefs drinks and watch them enjoy what they love doing.

I recommend getting reservations at the bar for Omakase, the host and servers are always so welcoming and attentive.

We typically come here for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries with friends because this is premium priced dining sushi experience but we have always left satisfied and excited for the next time we come back.

Their appetizers and sushi have never failed to be amazing, from the special agedashi tofu to their beautiful cut nigiri, this is somewhere we will always return to.

There was one sushi, chef, fair, and he made us feel so special not to mention how fresh the food was. “Omgoodness. Fresh, tender and tasty is the only way to describe the expertly crafted sushi and WaSa Sushi & Teppan. We lucked out to have the head sushi chef create our meal. I definitely recommend the sushi instead of the rolls. The rolls were good but a little heavy on the rice while the fish and rice balance on the succulent sushi was perfect. Pricey but worth it.“

“The food here is the only reason we keep coming back. The food. The fish is super fresh and diverse. The side dishes (beans, rice, veggies, etc.) are amazingly seasoned. The service, however, can be hit or miss. This establishment, due to how amazing the FOOD is, can get crazy busy. Which is so annoying, because you tend to wait in line for at least 30 minutes or run into trouble finding a place to sit. That is why I tend to order it to-go (a little hack) to enjoy this amazing food! You cannot go wrong with a fish plate, the sushi, the guacamole & chips, or the burritos. 10/10“

“Been going to Starfish since it opened in Newport Beach. The last two times, the nigiri sushi has been very disappointing. Clearly sub-quality of fish, had fish skin still on one piece and just generally unappetizing. I am hoping that this is just a blip and not a change in supplier or quality of fish purchased. The Crunchy Shrimp Role was consistently very good.“
