“Dandy's Ice Cream in North Highlands is hands down my favorite Mexican ice cream shop in Sacramento. Every time I visit, I'm blown away by the delicious flavors and amazing service.

So far, I've tried the milkshakes, raspas, and the banana split ice cream - all of which were delicious. The ice cream is rich and creamy, and the flavors are unique and bursting with flavor. I can't wait to go back and try the other items on their menu!

What really sets Dandy's apart, though, is the people who work there. They are all so friendly and welcoming, and they really go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The service is truly amazing.

Overall, if you're looking for delicious Mexican ice cream in Sacramento, you have to check out Dandy's. The ice cream is amazing, the service is great, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a sweet treat!“

“I used the Starbucks app today to mobile order a drink for the first time. I only had a 10 minute break and was attempting to mitigate any delays. I arrived at the store and was immediately greeted. I asked if they had a mobile order and they didn’t have one for me yet. The wonderful barista (Becky, I think,) asked if I ordered it for their store. While I thought I did, the app actually switched stores to a location 2 miles away. I didn’t have time to run over to the Madison and I-80 store so I asked if I could order the same thing there and just pay for it. After verifying my order, she kindly took my order and made the drink extremely quickly. She also comped my drink since I had already paid for the drink elsewhere. The customer service was outstanding by both herself and the other gentleman working.“

This place has a quaint welcoming atmosphere, an extensive selection of high quality loose leaf teas, a variety of grab-n-go bites as well as dine in favs, plus a self service option for quick check out. “First time visiting the place. I placed an order for a peach and maple pecan pie with crumble topping on top, it was to die for! I was genuinely surpised when i picked up the box because it was heavy. I was not expecting a pie to weigh that much. Worth every penny, if you are on the edge of deciding to come here or not, just do it. You will not be dissapointed in the quality or the amount of food you get.“

“Every time I am in the area I love coming here because they have really great pastry selection here. They are hands down the best Patisserie shop in Sacramento for sure.

I love coming here for their traditional croissant and they also have other ones like Savory ham and cheese and even a galette too with berries. They have a wide variety of seasonal selections to your classic loaf of bread and sandwiches too.

They are also serving some coffee from your latte to your traditional espresso over ice and americanos. They even have lemonade too if you looking for something refreshing.

The inside is quite small with no seating but the line is always quick. They have an outdoor seating with benches so if you like to enjoy it there they have that for you. The parking is kind of tight and limited as well.

“I ordered the chicken pho at Lasam Pho in Citrus Heights and it was absolutely outstanding. I’m used to getting overcooked, dry chicken at most places, but theirs was the complete opposite, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with their richly seasoned broth, which really brought the whole dish together. You can tell they put care into the quality of their ingredients. Definitely one of the best chicken pho experiences I’ve had.“

“Not sure exactly where to start but this restaurant has some serious customer service issues and that's just one category we were very disappointed in. We ordered online last night to try it out as we saw so many great reviews for the food so we broke from tradition and on my birthday we decided to eat here. All we ordered was a Helen, Cheese Fondue, and the Meatball rigatoni. I received an email stating the food would be ready in about 45 minutes. We left 35 minutes later as it's only up the street from where we live. As we arrive we noticed it's a little corner spot with patrons and appears to be more of a quaint little sit down restaurant and my wife and I thought maybe next time we just come in instead of take out. We stood there for about 2-3 minutes and then guy yells from across the room that he will be with us in a minute. He didn't seem to have anything he was really doing but ok. So finally an older guy comes over and asks us if we have been helped. We told him we were there to pick up our order, and he says he will go check on it. After a few minutes he comes back and says he tried to call us (no record of any missed calls on my phone) and that the rigatoni with meatballs was not available and he wasn't sure how it let us order that online. We don't know either and we definitely know you didn't try calling us to tell us that. Anyways he provided the option for a refund or to make my wife another dish. He mentioned shrimp scampi as the alternative, now the rigatoni was $25 a plate and they didn't even have shrimp scampi on the menu so I was skeptical since usually if they make something good it would be on their menu. So we waited for another 10 minutes for this SCAMpi. I capitalize scam because that's exactly how we felt when they tried to give us this alternative dish and we looked at it. I wish I had taken a picture of what they brought out for $25.... It was literally a small portion of large macaroni noodles, and no more than maybe 6-7 small chunks of shrimp in some greasy sauce that looked totally unseasoned... Gross. I wouldn't feed anything that dish and they should have never tried to replace a main dish like that with something as disappointing as what we received. So I took the container back into the restaurant as we hadn't left the parking lot as I wanted to see first just what they felt was comparable to the $25 we just spent. I found the guy who helped us and just explained that we wanted the refund and the scampi was not acceptable. He said ok and said right after that the refund was already processed. Now to the other food. The pizza was $23 and the cheese fondue was $13. Normally $23 for a pizza isn't crazy, but this was literally the size of a medium if that, and was extremely bare of ingredients. It taste pretty good, but wasnt worth the money at all. I don't eat a lot, and I was able to eat half of this pizza alone without even blinking. The cheese fondue was ok but not memorable. So now today I get up and take a look at my bank account to see if the refund was actually processed, and what do I see? Instead of a refund, I was charged again for that SCAMpi and not actually refunded! I wouldn't dine here again with the lack of customer service, value, and lack of integrity. I will be going back in again to get this straightened out and am not happy about it.“

“I’ve been to Urban Plates a couple times now and really enjoy their varied menu and delightful staff. Jasmine took my order at the counter and was friendly. Several staff checked on us to ensure our meals were good and cleared our plates when done. I like that they have healthy options, daily specials and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is very modern and clean - great for a lunch meeting with colleagues or a group of friends.“

“My friends saw some IG promos of this place and we decided to check it out.
Decent location off of Folsom Blvd/65th, tiny parking lot but plenty of street parking.
We dined as, as we often do when grabbing pizza for dinner. We arrived at 6pm and were the only ones there. Don't mind, whole place to ourselves. When we walked in, the two staff members were sitting in the dining area to see us arrive and promptly assisted us with our order. First order was a half chicken tikka and half Italian garlic combo. Second order was half tandoori chicken and also half Italian combo.
While we waited for our food, we checked out the decor and it's a nice spot with lots of seating and 3 large TVS.
Wall of tap beer for you to choose from and I really like the Bollywood movie quotes on the front wall. Saw one of my fav quotes up there too! One of the TVs was playing a movie and the other had on music videos. We heard neither. It was dead silent in there, which was a downer. Was hoping for some lively music.
Food was BUSSIN! The tandoori chicken pizza was a 10/10! Masala ranch is hella good. Chicken tikka, which is normally my fav at other Indian pizza spots was maybe a 6/10. I give the Italian garlic combo a solid 5.
We will definitely be back. But maybe next time we will come later at night. This place had a sign out front that they are open from 10AM - 6AM!! Wild. I can definitely see this place being popular with the late night college crowa.“

“Martin’s Famous Tacos has completely won me over. I was honestly a little skeptical the first time I went, but after they catered an event at my kids’ school, I decided to give them a try. I’m glad I did because now we stop by at least once a week.

If you go on Thursday, you’re in for a treat. It’s basically birria day! Their quesabirria tacos are fantastic, and the birria burritos are just as good. Their quesadillas are huge, made with fresh flour tortillas, and packed with more meat than most people can handle.

The sides are great too—the rice and beans are always on point. They have fresh radishes available and a salsa bar with plenty of options. The guacamole is excellent. You do have to purchase chips separately, but they offer both traditional corn chips and flour tortilla chips.

They don’t have fountain drinks, but they do carry a wide variety of Mexican sodas and American sodas, and I’m pretty sure they serve beer as well.

What really keeps us coming back, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even when the dining room looks slow, they’re working hard because the place stays busy. You order at the counter, but they bring the food out to your table, check on you, and keep the dining area clean. Customers are encouraged to bus their own tables, which is a small thing considering the great service they provide.

Great food, generous portions, fair prices, and genuinely kind people. Martin’s Famous Tacos has become a regular stop for my family, and I highly recommend giving them a try.“
