“I enjoyed a wonderful experience at Farm in Palm Springs for an early Mother's Day dinner. We had delightful three hour six course dinner in a magical setting with live music and delicious fare. PROS: The hostesses graciously greeted us and sat us a bit earlier than our reservation time. Had a nice table in one of the rooms with a fireplace and a large mirror. The saxophonist played and the sound poured in with great acoustics from the speakers. The amuse bouch had avocado, so I could not eat it, so my mom enjoyed all two. My dad could not eat solid foods due to mouth surgery. The bread course had warm fresh items and silky salty butter. The beet salad, melon salad, and corn soup provided earthy, tart, sweet, and creamy bites and tastes. The varied textures provided a kaleidescope of fresh tastes. The baked brie offered sweet and savory mixes of grilled bread, pear, and date spread! The lemon sorbet palate cleanser provided a balanced experience that did its job. The salmon entree provided an exquisitely pan fried crispy and juicy flaky fillet. The creamy dijon mustard sauce complimented the protein perfectly. The sweet peppers offered a wonderful crunch. The swiss chard added some bitter contrast to the garlic potatoes. The wonderfully bitter Citron crepe provided a nice end to a culinary cruise. Crystal took great photos in the garden. Gilbert was professional and affable. CONS: They asked me so many times for extra drinks. I had to prompt them multiple times to fill the water glasses and refills on tea and diet coke. They charged me full price for mashed potatoes, soup, and sorbet for my dad's meal. I get it. OVERALL: I highly recommend this restaurant for a magical evening meal inspired by Provence, France.“

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was exceptional from start to finish, and the atmosphere was calm, intimate, and romantic. “I saw Wilma & Frieda's on an episode of Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...so I had to try it while I was in town. Watching the process of how W&F makes their housemade short ribs made my mouth water, and me want to take the 2 hour drive from San Diego...\n\n$21 Short Rib Melt Sandwich...Here it was! The short rib sandwich I saw on TV was now in my hands...and it was good. Just good. Not great. The flavors were good, the short rib was flavorful and tasty, but I wish there was more of it. Came with some nice crispy tots.\n\n$7 Blueberry Breakfast Tart...W&F's housemade "Pop Tart" pastry was a cute, whimsical, sweet, and lovely dessert pastry.\n\nGood food, not great, and bit pricy for the portion and quality. Maybe it was overhyped in my brain from the TV show...never meet your heroes?“

“So I was seated immediately. The hostess and waiters were really quick and nice. The cooks were often not at the omelet counter, so people often waited a few minutes. The food was decent. The waffles and French toast were not too good, dry and overseasoned. The rest was good though. For a quick large meal, it was worth it.“

We recently had a goodbye dinner at Al Dente Trattoria for a couple from our snowbird park. There were nine of us, and overall the food was good. Everyone ordered full meals, and the service was acceptable, especially considering the restaurant was relatively empty.

Before dining, we had all requested separate checks. What we did not realize was that the restaurant automatically added a 20% gratuity for parties over six people. Three people in our group noticed this and did not add an additional tip. Unfortunately, three of us did not catch it and ended up tipping more than 20% on top of the already-added 20%.

The next morning, after realizing what had happened, I called the restaurant right away. I explained the situation politely and asked if they could remove the extra tip from my bill, as I had also left cash. I was only speaking for myself, not the rest of the group. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and told me she would look into it and get back to me.

Unfortunately, I never heard back, and the charge went through unchanged. As a result, our waitress received approximately a 40% tip on three fairly large bills.

I fully understand that I should have noticed the automatic gratuity myself, and I take responsibility for that. However, once the restaurant was made aware that several guests had clearly made the same mistake, I had hoped they would show some goodwill and help resolve it. Since nothing was done and no follow-up was provided, I am rating this restaurant one star based on the way the situation was handled from an ethical and customer service standpoint.“

“Okay I had really low expectations of this restaurant after reading some reviews but I had to dine here to use some F&B credit I had. It turned out to be a very satisfying meal!

I went on a Saturday noon. It’s quite empty just a few tables were occupied. I ordered steak salad ($25) and it was amazing!!! The steak was cooked to perfection and the salad portion was generous.

My partner got steak and fries )
($30) and it was delicious too. Fries were crispy I couldn’t stop eating lol.

Our waitress was also very welcoming (forgot her name but she had some tattoos on her arms).

Bloody Mary was just average so I don’t recommend it. Other than that I think this place deserves a solid 4.“

“We wanted that old school rat pack vibe for our anniversary. Melvyn's did not disappoint! Our server, Holly, was fantastic.. knowledgeable and on her toes for us first timers. Escargot, Caesar salad, Steak Diane and bananas foster. It was quite the meal. All perfection. And we were sat at “THE TABLE”. IYKYK!“

but the hole in the desert wall vibe is solid and I’d recommend stopping through if you find yourself at the thrift store next door all day 😜…“

“My husband and I had the pleasure of having breakfast at Waters Cafe, and I felt compelled to leave a review because good service deserves to be recognized.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest young host. I believe his name was Julian, It’s becoming harder to find young people with such wonderful manners these days, but Julian was kind, patient, and welcoming. He greeted everyone with a smile, made us feel right at home.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing, our server was outstanding as well.

We’ll certainly be back, and I hope Waters Cafe knows what a wonderful employees they have. Five stars all around!“
