I ordered three street tacos—chorizo, chicken, and steak—and that steak taco? Buddy… it tasted like someone grilled the most excellent steak known to mankind, whispered words of encouragement to it, motivated it to reach its full potential, then sliced it into bite-size greatness. The salsa inside? So good I considered taking it home and introducing it to my family. My son ordered the happy hour cheese quesadilla, which came out perfectly toasted—crispy golden edges, soft cheesy center. Basically a work of art Picasso wishes he painted. Then we shared the habanero wings, which came with a medley of tomatoes and sliced cucumbers so fancy it felt like they were auditioning for a cooking show. The dressing? Absolutely delicious. I briefly thought about drinking it like a tiny salad smoothie. I didn’t… but I thought about it. In conclusion: If you’re not eating at The Hole in the Wall, are you even living? 🌮🔥🍗“

“Boho Manor hosted our women's retreat this year and it was fabulous! We loved the moody, luxe vibe of the hotel and the lounge. We did a full venue buyout and it was so wonderful to be able to spread out and enjoy every nook and cranny of this beautiful hotel. Yoga overlooking the Russian River was one of the highlights. We saw a blue heron skimming the water, a mommy ducky swimming with her babies, and the sunrise was magnificent. The food was divine and the staff took such good care of us. They catered a 100+ event, connected me with local vendors such as florist and musicians; they know how to adjust to budget constraints at the same time they have a vision to make your event as impactful and amazing as you want it to be. “My friend and I shared a wine tasting which consisted of three small glasses of tasting size. You get to pick the three wines that you want. Not a huge selection., but works. We decided to eat there and I got the crabcakes which were pretty tasty a spicy sauce on top, and there were bell peppers and with the crabcakes. My friend got salmon with the skin was very crispy which he likes but the inside was too rare and he had to ask them to cook it more. It came back, still a bit too rare, and we fed that to the seagulls….The couscous salad that came with it was the best thing of all. I would not run back there but if you’re hungry and in that exact area, it’s a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. They have a couple of different patios outside, and the staff was very friendly. The one remark my friend said was that if they’re going to leave the salmon that raw like they said they usually do, they should ask people how they like it cooked. He loves sushi, but it was too rare for him being that it was salmon. It was a great day to get away from the high heat of Sonoma. We went from the 90s to the 60s wearing a jacket. He had never gone by the school house from Alford Hitchcock The Birds, so we did that on the way out.“

To our delight, we found that Chef Krisztian Karkus and his wife Alena (who has now moved out of the back of the house to charm guests as a friendly, attentive hostess/waitress) have made their restaurant's tastefully appointed new incarnation even better than we remembered it. What makes Tisza special is not just the wonderful food, drink and ambience but the sprinkling of rare (in California Wine Country) offerings on its menu, including mouthwatering Central and East European delights -- schnitzels, goulash, spaetzle, potato dumplings, wild mushrooms and, OH YES!, apple strudel -- reflecting the couple's background (he's Hungarian and she's Czech). While we didn't manage to sample everything that tempted us in this first of what will surely be many return visits, we'd be remiss if we didn't single out for high praise the house-smoked salmon with dill mustard sauce, pickled mustard seed and crème fraiche served over potato latkes. “Our family stopped in tonight and LOVED it! We came to town specifically for their ice cream because it was recommended to us, and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and let me taste more than a couple flavors... The rosemary peach was my favorite. The kumquat one was also extras delicious - I would definitely suggest trying it. “We've eaten here several times. It's a favorite of ours when we're in the Bodega Bay area. My husband and I like to share a cup of their (in our opinion) delicious chowder along with each us having one of their huge and tasty breakfast burritos.

This last time we went, we actually didn't get a chance to eat because their power had just come on after having been out since 10pm the night before. They had noticeable signage out front and they politely let us know when we pulled in. Unfortunately, our young son had gotten car sick on the drive up, so we took a moment to clean him up before leaving. The man working their offered to let us in to use the restroom to clean him up, and while I was taking that offer up, he offered my husband some towels to clean up the car (we had some, but still appreciated the offer). We just wanted to let people know that the customer services here is awesome, even when they aren't able to take customers.“

“We love this place! The food is ALWAYS good; the service is always good, and we love that there is always a good band playing and we get to dance! Our first waiter was Ben and oh how we loved him so we always asked for him when we would go in. Sadly, Ben moved out of the area but then we got Danny! Another fantastic server and now we always ask for her! Can't vouch for the other servers but my guess would be that they are all good! Susie is the owner, and she is wonderful! She always mingles with her guests and even gets many of them up dancing! I hope she knows how much her regulars appreciate her! I'm so glad we found this place because we do not live out there.
