Celebrated a birthday at Darkroom and honestly it was one of the most distinctive dining experiences we’ve had in Orange County.

The creativity, flavors, and energy of the place feel completely different from anything else in the OC.

I also love they offer a variety of NA options and mocktails. If they keep pushing at this level, a Michelin nomination would not surprise me at all.“

“Random pick after work with a colleague and what a great choice. The atmosphere is light, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed happy hour and the piano man with his handsome side kick played great tunes while we enjoyed charcuterie and flat bread, cocktails and wine. I'll absolutely be returning!“

“We came on a busy weekend but we found a seat at the bar and we were attended too fairly quickly. We did the recommended wine tasting and we enjoyed each glass. I like the idea of pouring it into a tube to go with the theme but I do enjoy an extra pour when it’s poured by hand to be honest lol but it was a great vibe over all I would highly recommend stopping by for a tasting if you are in the area. Very affordable. Parking can be terrible but it’s worth supporting local businesses I say.“

“Cozy little restaurant by night, coffee shop by day. We had the oysters, pork belly tacos, steak frites, and a few glasses of orange wine—all excellent and service was great. A little funny to walk in and check in at the counter where you’d normally order an espresso, but I appreciate what they are doing. Can order food at the bar to go or eat seated with full service. Menu is very limited but there are adult and kid favorites. Restaurant is quite a distance from parking lot, and restaurant does not validate parking.“

“Celebrated my husband's 80th birthday, we had a party of 21 and sat in the Library area of the restaurant which was private. Every aspect of our time there was exceptionally perfect from beginning to end. Our lead server, Paul, has perfected his skills and made our celebratory dinner extremely enjoyable. The food was amazing as always. The Library is private and lovely however the entire room is filled with “Library” decor and doesn't leave much room for personal party decorations which the restaurant graciously allowed. Had ordered three dessert platters for our party, guests did not consumed a fair amount and noticed the trays were being taken away without my being asked if we wanted to take the leftovers to go. I asked if they could be boxed to go and my request was immediately honored. My husband and our guests all commented on how much they loved the food and enjoyed themselves!“

“This is my favorite restaurant! I loved it back when it was on Bristol, but I have been back to the new Red Hill location twice now and it is even more of a special dining experience. Massimo has come out to explain the history of the wine and food and the sources of his ingredients. He tells wonderful stories with a great sense of humor, and his daughter who helps serve is also very knowledgeable and delightful. I feel transported and hosted in a way I have never experienced in a restaurant. The food is amazing. The fresh handmade pasta melts in your mouth. We have eaten every dessert and they are all spectacular. Every wine and appetizer we have tried has been extraordinary. I couldn't recommend this place more.“

“Tremendous meal, first timers. Although they had a multi course Valentines menu that evening, we wanted to explore more of the menu. Three of us, one being my 83 year old mother-in-law, had 5 appetizers and salad, and three entrees. Hit it out of the park on everything. We had the charred cabbage, broiled marinated carrots, short rib chili(killer), beet and feta cheese salad, and house made olive oil bread and whipped butter. Every dish great attention to detail, delicious and varied saucing. We could have stopped there, but we continued on to the trout, hangar steak, and 12 oz pork chop. The sauce on that baby was tremendous, and I’m currently finishing the left overs in my hotel room for breakfast covered in that remarkable sauce. Service was spot on, timing was appropriately spaced out. Definitely put Verde on your map.“

“The girlfriend and I just moved here and checked this place out as it was close to home and had great reviews.

I had the smash burger and she had the chicken sandwich; both were delicious and the fact that they offer sweet potato fries is a plus. Extra points for the ranch, which was some of the best I’ve had and I never have ranch with anything.

Bartender didn’t have what I wanted but suggested an alternative and we both liked it.

The place is a vibe and definitely worth checking out.“

“We were hesitant at first, but so glad we decided to eat there! We walked down the beach and were starving, everywhere else was closed. We ordered our food at the window, and found a table to sit at. The food came out quickly, hot and crispy. It was SO good! The steak tacos were awesome and packed with protein. The BLTA had thick and plentiful bacon. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the fries were perfect!“

If you're going to get a specialty cocktail, the Smoky Sparrow was really smooth and the aromatics were wonderful. And a squeeze of lemon juice did the trick! We look forward to coming back soon.“
