Although their Matcha was real, however it was very lumpy. They seem very busy so I believe they must’ve made the three much in one container and didn’t sift it through well! Ray & Mark went above and beyond in making our daughter-in-laws 50th birthday celebration special. The 50th balloons, cake accessories, & gift card were unexpected & appreciated. Enjoyed a few items off the Happy Hour Menu. $34 before tax for the Pear & Brie Skillet melt, seasoned olives, and a slice of Key Lime pie. I would pass on the skillet melt next time, did absolutely love the toasted focaccia it came with. Next time I would try the Spinach Artichoke Dip. I sat solo at the bar, several average size groups were at the other end of the bar area.“

The hidden speakeasy concept is such a fun and unique touch. It makes the experience feel much more memorable than just going out for dinner.

“Love love love! The food is seriously so good. And the wines are amazing too! Such a hidden gem in the camp. Everywhere else is packed and this place is yet to be discovered. Small menu but every item was incredible. I’m also gluten free and could eat everything except the sourdough (but my husband and son said it was amazing!). Couldn’t recommend enough. Go here before reservations are booked out and you can’t get in.“

“We came on a busy weekend but we found a seat at the bar and we were attended too fairly quickly. We did the recommended wine tasting and we enjoyed each glass. I like the idea of pouring it into a tube to go with the theme but I do enjoy an extra pour when it’s poured by hand to be honest lol but it was a great vibe over all I would highly recommend stopping by for a tasting if you are in the area. Very affordable. Parking can be terrible but it’s worth supporting local businesses I say.“

“My fiance and I were in the area for my nephew's wedding. On Sunday morning, we looked for a breakfast location. We prefer the small local restaurants as opposed to the chains. Up popped this Laguna Cafe, close by where we were staying. From the time we entered the door, it was obvious we picked the right spot! it was cozy, homey, friendly and downright delicious. The clientele were all laughing, enjoying the morning and the atmosphere. We got served by Monja, the proprietor, who wore a shirt with our favorite scripture, John 3:16. As we bowed our heads to pray, she gently joined us in prayer. What a blessing. Needless to say, we will go back when in the area. Highly recommend the food too! And say Hi to Monja from Mark and Dianne from Arizona!“

“This is my favorite restaurant! I loved it back when it was on Bristol, but I have been back to the new Red Hill location twice now and it is even more of a special dining experience. Massimo has come out to explain the history of the wine and food and the sources of his ingredients. He tells wonderful stories with a great sense of humor, and his daughter who helps serve is also very knowledgeable and delightful. I feel transported and hosted in a way I have never experienced in a restaurant. The food is amazing. The fresh handmade pasta melts in your mouth. We have eaten every dessert and they are all spectacular. Every wine and appetizer we have tried has been extraordinary. I couldn't recommend this place more.“

The appetizers were delightful, we had the cauliflower, the shishito peppers, the fries and the snap peas. For entrees we had the atlantic salmon, the rainbow trout and the steak chili. The sauces were amazing. The salmon was so small. That was my only complaint.“

I corrected with a request for 4 but, gave me an attitude of ‘I know, I'll get you another one. But, never return & no gesture of recognition to handle the situation. “My buddies and I do a “Bros Night” every couple of weeks, and we’re always looking for a new local spot to check out. This time we cruised over to Balboa Island in a friend’s golf cart from Corona del Mar, took advantage of the ridiculously convenient golf cart parking, and headed to Snipe Island.

The restaurant has a great vibe. I love the open-air feel with the large windows and bar seating facing the street. It’s a fun place to sit, relax, people-watch, and enjoy everything that makes Balboa Island special.

The food was good. I had an ahi salad that was fresh and tasty, and one of my friends ordered a pizza that looked incredible. I was doing keto that day, so unfortunately I didn’t get a slice, but if it tasted half as good as it looked, I’m ordering it next time.

The real highlight of the night was our server, Taylor. Honestly, she was incredible. The place was busy, and it seemed like she was handling just about everything, but somehow she never missed a beat. We always had what we needed, our drinks stayed full, and she made us feel like we were her only table. Great service can make or break an experience, and Taylor absolutely crushed it.

The prices felt fair, the atmosphere was fun, and overall we had a great evening. If I had one piece of constructive feedback, I’d say the restroom could use a little attention and maybe a refresh. But as someone who owns a business, I know there are always a hundred things competing for your attention.

At the end of the day, I have a soft spot for local businesses that are out there working hard and serving the community. Snipe Island delivered a fun night with friends, great service, and a great Balboa Island atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.“
