“We stumbled upon this bakery and got tempted with the 'Hong Kong' style baked goods. We were there around 2:30pm and by then most baked items were sold out. There were a few egg custard tarts left so we took the 'buy 5 and get 1 free' offer. And I must say they are legit HK egg custard tarts ! Every summer, I make an appointment with Mary 2-3 weeks prior to my birthday and she always is eager and ready to bring my ideas to reality in her creative space. Even after we have finalized all the details, she will contact me a couple times prior to the pick up date just to verify the details or to suggest new ideas. “I am absolutely blown away by my experience of working with Nick and his team to create my son's Pokemon themed birthday cake. From the very start, Nick was super quick to respond and took the time to not only work with me to draw out my vision, but also offered some of his own ideas and creativity which brought this project to a whole other level! He was so easy to communicate with and I appreciate him always making himself available to follow up on any thoughts or questions I had throughout! Our party was on Easter day when the bakery was closed but he was super accommodating and made sure to deliver the cake to the venue the day before. Our guests could not believe that the figurines were sculpted- everyone thought they were toys!! Most importantly, my son, who is typically difficult to impress, was absolutely in love with the finished product and couldnt wait to take it home. I think we can all agree that the photos speak for themselves!! I am so, so thankful for Nick and his incredible team at Shirin Bakery and cannot wait to work with them again in the future! They were sweet with sugar (?) but tasted like they lacked something but I can't quite put my finger on it. This bake shop is located in a tough spot for business but has a couple parking spots in front which is nice if you snag one. If you're coming from Barrington and turn right on Olympic, it's easy to then turn right on the street that JFB is located. If you're coming the opposite way, Olympic turning left to get there it's kinda dangerous imo!“

“Menchies menchies menchies How do I love you. I been coming here for over 10+ years and everytime I come here I get excited to see the toppings and the different flavors. My go to are: Vanilla + chocolate + original tart W/ cherries W/ nuts, walnuts, almonds and chocolate chips I been taking my kids here forever and they would always write on the chalkboard. This visit was very special to me, because my daughter treated me for dessert. I have passed along the Menchies tradition And who can't say no to Froyo! Menchies we love you!“

“Walked up to the Lady M Cake Boutique on Sawtelle Blvd today and had a piece of cake for my brother's birthday. My brother lives in New York City so he can go to one of the Lady M Cake Boutiques there and have a piece of the same cake. Had a piece of the salted caramel mille crepes cake. It is one of the seasonal cakes. It has the biggest picture (an entire page to itself) in the menu. It was very good. Looking forward to going to the Lady M Cake Boutique again and trying some of the other cakes.“
“We received a cake for my son’s 17th birthday and it was amazing! They included many special touches to personalize the cake while still maintaining a pleasing aesthetic. Not only was the cake amazing but we also had a mishap with our dog bumping the cake while it was in its packaging which damaged the corner. Although it was completely our fault, Crumbles jumped in and quickly repaired the cake for us and saved the day after much stress and anxiety about the mishap! Thank you Crumbles Patisserie for the beautiful cake, the amazing packaging, and for fixing our issue! We’d give you 10 stars if we could!“
“We had our wedding in Long Beach this past July and worked with our local Ben & Jerry's location manager, Kathy Yoon, to arrange for a scoop cart to cater part of our dessert course. Kathy was incredibly friendly and informative, and as our wedding day got closer she directed us to this LA location to finalize the orders, because the Long Beach location would not have been able to fulfill it anymore. This wasn't a problem at all, as she was already working behind the scenes to confirm the four flavors we wanted with this LA shop, and was securing the two servers that would be commuting down to Long Beach that evening to treat our guests. I also called ahead to this location to arrange for a small ice cream cake to be added to the order as our separate wedding cake, and was treated so kindly by the employee that fielded my order. When all was said and done the scoop cart and cake arrived on time, the servers were incredibly friendly and seemed happy to be there, and all of our guests were super stoked to enjoy Ben & Jerry's for dessert & also to help cool down on what ended up being a pretty hot night. Thanks to all who helped make our wedding such a success, and next time we are up in the area we will be sure to come by for a scoop or two (or six).“
“This is a good, neighborhood bakery on a busy stretch of Centinela near Washington. They have nice croissants and a wide selection of cupcakes. My favorite is the lemon blueberry loaf cake. It is absolutely delicious. They sell it by the slice. They also have other loaf cakes that I have not yet tried. They also have a small selection of cookies that are pretty good.“

“Viktor Benes in Pali has been my go to bakery for Birthday cakes and hamantaschen for many years. I have never been disappointed. The quality is consistent, the cakes are pretty looking, not too sweet and the dough is perfect. I have also very much enjoyed many of their black and white, rugelach, bagels and other breads. Sometimes when at Gelson's I just stop there to watch all their pretty looking pastries and obviously end up buying a few for my family and I. Miam!“
