They use whole grain flour and amazing butter quality, the flakiness is insane even on the cinnamon roll which Im usually not a fan of and I think that I might go back just for that!! Also got the pain au chocolat granola which I can’t wait to try… it’s genius!!“

“I needed a little European fix today, so I decided to visit Des Croissants Paris. First of all I just finished devouring 4 pastries that were in incredibly delicious!!! Top ingredients straight from France! But what made my visit an outstanding experience, was how lovely and gracious the staff was including the owner. “This is my go-to neighborhood bakery now. Living within short walking distance means I come here every week. I've tried every pastry by now and each one is excellent. They often add new seasonal pastries, most recently a strawberry danish topped with creamy frosting and filled with house-made jam; easily the best vegan pastry I've ever had. Their freshly baked breads are almost all vegan, most of their cakes are vegan, they have vegan sandwiches, and all of their café drinks can be vegan with plenty of plant milks available. Many of these are gluten free as well for those concerned about that, and always clearly marked. These are NOT pastries for crunchy health-food types, they are incredible and indulgent vegan versions of the same croissants, pan au chocolat, scones, cookies, muffins, etc you'd get in any European style bakery. It's a great place to go with omni friends and family because the vegan options are just as good as the nonvegan ones. The place has a really cozy neighborhood type feeling, drawing regulars from the area including families and plenty of cute dogs, and the staff and owners are all super friendly. My omni fiancé and I are having them make our wedding cake! Pro tip 1: go before closing from 2:30-3:00 Monday-Thursday for 30% off everything. Pro tip 2: their day-old breads are half off, which makes their breads a total steal. “We had a nice, cozy dinner here and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We ordered our pasta without cheese, but it was accidentally served with cheese. The staff handled the mistake very professionally and apologized immediately. They quickly brought us the correct order, and the service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. “I’ve been coming here for almost five years. Their ham and cheese croissant used to be one of the best in LA with perfectly laminated dough, thick ham, and plenty of cheese. The shell was a bit dense and heavier than other bakeries, but that’s actually why I enjoyed it. It had a unique texture and feel.

Sadly, the quality has declined a lot in recent years. The croissant is now much smaller, dry, and skimpy on fillings. Today it honestly tasted like an airport croissant.

Coffee, Swedish buns, and other food are still great, and the staff are always kind. But the shop often seems understaffed and the dining area is not as clean as before. I still want to support them, but the overall experience no longer feels as special as it once did.“

“Angel Maid Bakery has gone down hill a little bit. Their hours are not what they say and their lot for parking is very small.

That said, their service is still great and they are very nice.

They are limited in what they will do. If you bring in a photo of a cake you want, chances are they won't be able to do it. They do not do images at all. They have a book and you can pick a cake.

Their selection in store is very good, but I am so sick of most of them having a whipped cream frosting that you have to keep cold. I don't like cold cake. Their selection of butter cream is lacking.

They do have a nice selection of cupcakes with butter cream frosting which is great.

When you have them write on a cake you pre ordered you can tell they took very little time to do it, it is sloppy and there is nothing but what you told them to write. Most bakeries add a little flower or something to present the name.

I just had a lemon curd type cake from them and I noticed the sloppy writing and the cake was so sweet I could not eat it, and of course, it was cold.

I won't be back. That is sad. I will find another bakery that cares. But I still give them a 4 because I know a lot of people like sweet cakes with whipped cream frosting and their service is very good.“

“I am a huge fan of Banana Pudding and this place has it. Magnolia is known to be best, but I beg to differ!! Schatzi's in my opinion is the better choice. The pudding is not just fluffed and whipped, it has actual solid ingredients and the perfect balance of bananas. My new go to!!“

I went during the free thin cookie giveaway and bought the Dubai style chocolate cookie. $7 for 2 thin cookies. I got the brownie batter and it was great, falling apart but good. Taste wise for Dubai chocolate was also good. Cookie quality in terms of taste is not the issue. I love chewy cookies but I'm giving it 3 stars for value and also how my cookies stuck together by the time I got home, which was less than 2 miles, so packaging fail. The ladies working at the shop was nice and quick. But $7 for 2 filmsy cookie is a bit expensive in my opinion.“
