“I am a huge fan of Banana Pudding and this place has it. Magnolia is known to be best, but I beg to differ!! Schatzi's in my opinion is the better choice. The pudding is not just fluffed and whipped, it has actual solid ingredients and the perfect balance of bananas. My new go to!!“

“I’ll be honest—it’s not Porto’s. Few bakeries in Southern California are. But that’s not really a criticism, because La Galette stands well on its own.
I stopped by expecting a quick coffee and a pastry, and ended up spending much longer than planned. The bakery has a welcoming atmosphere, the display cases are full of tempting options, and everything looks freshly made. The pastries were flaky, the desserts were balanced without being overly sweet, and the quality was consistently good.
What I liked most was that La Galette feels like a neighborhood bakery rather than a large operation. There’s a personal touch to the experience, and it’s easy to see why so many locals keep coming back. The staff was friendly, service was efficient, and everything felt well cared for.
Yes, if you’re comparing every bakery to Porto’s, most places will come up short. But that’s not a fair standard. La Galette offers its own experience, and it does it very well. Whether you’re picking up breakfast, grabbing a dessert, or meeting a friend for coffee, it’s a pleasant place to spend some time.
Will it replace Porto’s for me? Probably not. But will I happily return when I’m in the area and craving a good pastry? Absolutely.“

“Your employees really make or break your business. Came in 1 minute late. Lady walked off and completely ignored me. This is someone who doesnt care about your business. The older lady wanted to help, but something was not allowing her. 15 years coming here. I would leave 1 star, but I don't want to damage the business because of a bad employees behavior. Find people who care about your business. Smh.“

“You literally happen upon the place. Tasty buns make up for it. The fam shared the Classic and PecanBon. Friendly customer service if straightlaced and slightly robotic. Overall yummy product so will forgive the awkwardness and rando location in the mall.“

“Great place to read, work, have a coffee and or pastry. They have a great espresso machine and a lot of options ranging from cakes to macaroons to cookies and chocolates. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, very stylish and comfortable, good coffee and friendly service.“

“I just ordered for the first time today and I must say your food is fantastic! Generous portion with pickles and delicious soft boiled eggs, pickles, puréed fresh tomatoes and a small amount of hot sauce that isn’t too hot. Just right. Went to your place near corner of Van Nuys and Burbank. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED“
