Gracias Señor Taqueria Mexican • $
15120 Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades

“I don't even eat at gracis senor, but I am writing this review because there is a local law firm called Davis Wright and Tremaine that has been harassing the local taco vendors for the past few weeks in the Pacific Palisades. Apparently the law firm has delivered threatening letters to Gracias Senor (the daytime taco truck), as well as the nighttime pop-up tent-based taco vendors, and perhaps the other trucks as well. There are clearly a coalition of palisades karens who have nothing constructive to do with their time and therefore seek to destroy the hard work of local businesses, lessening the beauty of the Palisades in the process. These same anti-taco-truck karens are probably the same types of people who yelled at people for not taking covid vaccines two years ago: the type of people who thrive on the oppression of the free will of other human beings and live to control others, for it gives them a false sense of empowerment and meaning. These anti-taco karens would clearly like for every single establishment in the palisades to be bland, overpriced, licensed and regulated by some nonsensical city governing body, and close early. The good news is that for every one of the anti-taco Karens who seek to oppress the small business owners, there are twenty more people who support the taco vendors! Don't be intimidated by Davis Wright and Tremaine and the karen army.“

Sheko’s Tacos Mexican • $
15120 Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades

“Shekos Tacos represents the single greatest improvement to the Pacific Palisades in years. That may sound like a bold and perhaps audacious statement, yet it is absolutely correct: street taco vendors are the essence of what makes Los Angeles such a wonderful city. Until Shekos arrived in the Palisades, the suburban town lacked an affordable and flavorful nighttime dining option. One simply did not exist in the Palisades. The employees are kind and the portions are generous. They also keep their food production and surrounding areas notably clean and free of debris. But all is not peaceful in the land of Palisadian tacos: a coalition of angry karens has petitioned the local grocery store, Ralphs, to hire a law firm to harass the local taco vendors. Over the past few weeks, the firm (Davis Wright and Tremaine) has dispatched a representative to threaten the local daytime taco truck owners as well as the nighttime pop-up workers at Shekos. The law firm and the palisades karens are hoping that they can intimidate the small business owners into submission. These lame and arrogant individuals thrive on the suffering of others and seek to impose their will on the business people who have greatly improved the palisades. The anti-taco karens cannot be allowed to succeed in their quest to make every single establishment in the palisades an over-regulated, overpriced, bland nightmare. The type of people who are trying to run the taco vendors out of town are most likely the same type of people who would yell at people for not taking the covid vaccines or wearing masks two years ago: those who thrive on exerting petty control over the lives of others for no reason other than to fuel their own sense of self-importance and ego. Long live the taco vendors!“

Rocky's Tacos Truck Mexican • $$
224 Temescal Canyon Rd, 15112 Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades

“Ordered a chorizo and egg burrito for $10. They are out side of Ralph's market in the Pacific Palisades. It was pretty big, lots of chorizo, potato, beans, and egg. I ate most of it, I was worried that I was going to fall asleep after eating the whole thing. It was served hot and fresh, good salsa and chips with it too.“

“After reading these reviews, I wonder if I am just very easy-going or I missed something. I came on a Sunday afternoon, and ordered a set of the tacos. The first person was very helpful and telling me about the tacos since I never ordered them from chipotle before.they hooked it up on the portions. I took my food to go, and I ate it in the village area where I got to watch some carolers. I would return to this location.“

“After visiting Hijo de su Madre several times for their award winning and phenomenal Yucetecan vegan greatness I was quite excited when I saw on their IG they were adding a vegan burger menu. It just launched a few days ago, but is already my favorite burger (got the Phat Hass Burger) in LA and I have had them all. Even more profoundly, they have the best loaded frots I’ve ever had by a landslide! Run don’t walk to try the new menu (will be on the delivery apps soon!) and then keep coming back because everything on the menu is perfection. 5 stars!!!“

“Great vegan restaurant in Melrose. The food has plenty of flavor and tastes fresh. Prices during happy hour are very affordable, and it’s a great for big groups to share bites and drinks. Atmosphere is nice, especially outdoors on the patio. The highlight of the evening for me was the olive oil brownie — a must try!“
