“I threw a birthday party here and I was so pleased with how everything turned out. Debi, the owner is very professional and quick to respond to email and a pleasure to coordinate with. All of the staff were extremely friendly, from the bartenders, waitress and the doorman (who greeted all my guests!). The bar has a lot of seating and is very spacious with great decor. “I quit drinking before the judge ordered me to—how is that for initiative? Since that last call, no bar has captured my attention. Nor have I returned to any of the bars I enjoyed around here. I’m from the east coast—a pub near a rail station which draws a crowd free of pretense is proper nurture. Glen Park Station is welcoming, comfortable, fun, and built for a night done right.

There are non-alcoholic brews for those who abstain, shot-and-a-beer specials for $12.00, wine by the glass, and an indoor smoking lounge. A pinball machine which takes dollar bills. Darts. Superior bar stools. Table seating up front. A rear patio. No Apple Pay.The bar has neighboring businesses which serve food. One can find Vietnamese, Thai, and Mexican fare within a block. The bodega sits across from BART, on the same side of Diamond St. A pizza place is in proximity. This area has a low-key dominance about it. A great spot for socializing, a walkable pocket of the city wherein small businesses sling good eats, and you have the option to get hammered.

Parking is available in the public library lot after 6, 7, 8PM during the week. Street parking on the northbound lane of Bosworth between Arlington & Diamond is free in the evenings. I am not sure when the meters stop accepting payment-I pulled up at 7:30PM on a Monday.

To those behind the wheel—be advised—residential streets intersect as sharp turns become sudden hills. At all hours there are pedestrians, cyclists, and coyotes. SFPD often posts a patrol vehicle on Bosworth (south of the Arlington intersection) to eyeball the I-280 south on-ramp.“

“I have been here many times, mainly when I travel out of SFO. I’m so happy this place exists, because I usually stop by before heading to the airport. Also this place is 24 hours which is a place and great for passengers that arrive late. They offer many snacks, hot/cold items and a variety of beverages. The staffs here are well trained, very welcoming and listens to your needs. I tried many of their warm food selections which is worth the wait, and it does not bother me at all that I have to wait since I have high patience. They have recently upgraded their menu and expanded their options. I highly recommend this place to all passengers and to anyone looking for a quick bite. I definitely will be back to tryout other options they have listed.“

“Cool divey spot with good beers, good cocktails, a few nice bartenders, a (nice, kinda expensive at $2/play) pool table, a photo booth, and a partnership with Front Porch across the street for food (or whatever you want to bring in). It occasionally has that "you're not a regular" off-putting feeling and single use bathrooms, but that's to be expected and doesn't take away from it. They also have some seats outside for when the weather's nicer. I usually stop in at the end of the night, but went recently earlier in the afternoon and they had a real sweet bartender who could make a great old fashion, and it was cool to see what it looks like inside with some sunlight, even though it means missing out on the spinning color lights they usually have running.“

“Stopped in to Newell's for a pre dinner drink. We just kind of stumbled on this place. How does one know where to get a good cocktail when you're an out of towner!?
Well let me tell you about Newell's.. The bartender was fabulous! She wasn't even sure what a certain drink was but she more than nailed it! It was right on! My Cadillac margarita was potent! I managed to wobble out of there to my next destination.. but barely! They do not serve food but our sweet bartender brought popcorn in order to save me embarrassment! It was a fun experience and I think I may have to return!“

The fixed menu was thoughtfully curated, and every dish was delicious — the oxtail entrée was absolutely amazing and a standout of the evening. When we noticed that each table had been given a rose but ours was missing, she kindly explained that the hostess should have provided one and personally went downstairs to get one for us.
