“Very good! Loved getting the peanuts and cabbage salad as we sat down.
The best:
- pork and chive dumplings
- spicy wontons
Good:
- ground pork and tofu golden soup
- bbq steam buns
Underwhelming:
- cucumber salad. Normally I love this dish, but the flavor of the sesame oil and garlic did not come through on the cucumber. It tasted like the cucumbers were plated immediately after being crushed and chopped instead of getting some salt and 5-10 minutes of rest.“

“buddy has a great vibe but the true star of the show here is the Ilna pop up! We’ve begun to make it a Sunday tradition given the constantly shifting seasonal menu of modern Mediterranean. We’ve been wowed every time but I’d say the various duck confit iterations remain the star of the show.“

“This is my "go to" place in Burlingame! Fantastic wine selection , nice cool vibe. Austin, and Drea, as well as Jason (owner ), are extremely knowledgable. If you are looking for interesting wine, and a chill atmosphere, this is it. They have Thursday night wine events that are a great value to taste new wines. They get prominent wine makers, and wineries from major areas to have tastings throughout the year as well. They have small bites to nosh with your wine. :)“
“This is such a great neighborhood spot. They have an amazing selection of organic and natural wines if that's your thing, and it's always buzzing with friendly locals popping in for a drink and a chat. Def go for the tasting that changes up at least weekly, it's usually a great deal and good way to try wines you wouldn't usually encounter.
Tala and her team have done a fantastic job bringing this wonderful addition to the neighborhood.“

“It’s a great place to meet friends for fun food and have a glass of wine… it has a cozy interior or you can sit out on Dolores sidewalk and enjoy the lovely neighborhood. The owner and his wife make make you feel relaxed and welcome. It’s also a great date spot and the tables are set up for comfort or intimacy if you prefer- it also offers food to go! Most people who try it want to return!“

“We had Rompiballe Sandwich and The Milanese Sandwich. Our favorite one was The Milanese Sandwich even if both sandwiches were very tasty. It was very fresh and we liked the harmony of ingredients. Service was fast and we didn’t have a difficulty finding a table. I felt like I was in a nice sandwich shop in Firenze. Thank you!“
“Such a special place. Similar to La Ciccia, Binu Bonu maintains a lovely neighborhood feel. Huge selection of wine (all of it new to me and something I really liked), wonderful charcuterie type small plates (out of this world olives). The stars are the husband and wife that make the magic place happen.“

“Spanish natural wines and tapas that never disappoint
El Chato is a neighborhood favorite with a relaxed vibe, an impressive natural wine list, and tapas that hit the spot every time. Expect canned fish done beautifully, marinated olives, tortilla de patata, and dishes that pair perfectly with a crisp Spanish white. It feels like discovering a secret hideout, except everyone you know already loves it.
Great for: date nights, wine nights, sharing plates, “let’s catch up” evenings.“

“Food was good, but did not particularly stand out compared to other dumpling places. Had great service from one server, but the rest were very stressed and hurried. It was hard to get their attention. Food presentation was great and they surprisingly have a large bar. I would come back again and try different items.“

“Passing through SFO and stopped in for a flatbread. So glad I did! Zane was behind the bar and make the experience so enjoyable. He recommended the perfect glass of wine to accompany my food and I enjoyed it so much that I opted for a second round. He was kind, knowledgeable and really made the airport dining experience stress free. I’ll definitely be stopping in again the next time I’m town.“

“Excellent place! Everything we tried was outstanding.
Amy was exceptional — a true professional, warm and welcoming, and she made us feel right at home.
We enjoyed the gnocchi, the green salad, the black cod, and the soup of the day, and every dish was wonderful.
The wine list is also excellent. We will definitely be back!“

“The burger was really good. Got the HWC burger with waffle fries, the burger was really flavorful and juicy. Taste wise I had zero complaints.
Overall the meal was sort ok for the price in SF I guess. The burger itself was almost the size of a whopper jr but with more meat. The quality of the burger is great but the size is a bit disappointing. Waffle fries were standard, nothing super amazing nor bad.
If I could just buy 2 burgers for the price of the burger & fries I'd be more than happy. That said, even with the but of criticism I'd go back again no hesitation.“

“This is the quintessential local authentic Italian spot! The food is amazing— favorites include the arugula and fennel salad, spaghetti with clams, eggplant side dish with balsamic and the incredible homemade tiramisu! But you can’t go wrong with anything. Try the pecorini wine or the mushrooms. This small spot is cozy and welcoming and the owner is the best. I am only in the city every few months but this spot makes it into my rotation each visit!“

“I loved my visit to this restaurant! The vibes are great, perfect service, and most important, AMAZING food. I would highly recommend stopping in to try this restaurant. I went with a party of three and we ordered several items so we could share and try them, everything was delicious. I attached sone photos. The corn thing looked nasty and I was like eww I'm not eating that. Then I tried it and OMG it was so good we ordered a second one.“
“We had such a delightful time at Tintos! It was a wonderful surprise to find this Persian gem on Valencia Street. The menu is unique, exciting, and full of delicious flavors you don’t often come across in the neighborhood. Everything we tried was thoughtfully prepared and so tasty. Tintos really stands out as a special addition to Valencia Street, and we’re so glad we discovered it. Highly recommended!“

“Happened to stop by here with my brother from out of town a few nights, was a slow night at the bar it seemed.
Was having quite a drab day but a quick drink whipped up by our bartender Louisa and some excellent jokes turned our day right around. The matcha drink was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I can honestly say I’d stop by again whenever I’m back just to try the drink again. Thanks Louisa“

“I would like to share my disappointing experience at this restaurant last night regarding the reservation process and customer service.
Before arriving, we called the restaurant to make a reservation. The staff member who answered told us to make a reservation through Yelp. I explained that Yelp was not allowing us to book, which was the reason we called directly. She then told us that she would put us in the system and that our table would be ready in about 20 minutes, which worked perfectly for our drive to the restaurant.
However, when we arrived and informed the hostess that we had a reservation, she immediately told us that the restaurant does not take reservations and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. I even showed her the sms confirmation from my phone. This was very confusing and frustrating because we had just spoken with someone who confirmed our reservation over the phone.
As a result, we arrived expecting a table to be ready, only to find out that no reservation existed. We were dining with a child, so the unexpected wait made the situation even more difficult.
I understand that restaurants can be busy, but clear and consistent communication is very important. If reservations are not accepted, this should have been communicated honestly during the phone call. The conflicting information made us feel misled and disappointed with the service experience.
I hope management can review this situation with the staff to prevent similar misunderstandings for future guests.“

“Charming restaurant inside a former bank.
I tried 3 course fixed price lunch for $24.
Starter is choice between house salad or soup of the day, an entree and dessert. There were 5-6 choices for entree including a vegetarian and seafood option. Dessert was choice of gelato or chocolate mousse
Everything was tasty and we got fresh bread while our food was being prepared. Normally I would say $24 is expensive for lunch but given the inflation as of late I thought this was reasonable given ambiance and quality of food. I probably should have saved 1/2 my entree so I could have enjoyed the mousse more. It was delicious but could only get a few bites in as I was so full by the time dessert came out.
You can order off the menu if 3course meal is not your preference. Pizza is only offered at dinner fyi.“
“The soulful energy and the authentic community atmosphere of this historic neighborhood lounge make it an absolutely wonderful destination for anyone who wants to experience a real piece of San Francisco jazz culture in an unpretentious setting. I spent a long time enjoying the live music because the performers are incredibly talented and the intimate layout of the room creates a perfect connection between the band and the audience that you rarely find in more commercial venues. I really loved the warm hospitality of the staff and the regulars because everyone is so welcoming and it feels like a place where the history of the neighborhood is celebrated through every song and conversation throughout the evening. The space is maintained with a lot of character and I noticed that the drink prices are very reasonable which makes it a fantastic spot to relax and soak in the local vibe without the high costs typically found in the downtown districts. It is a must visit for any true music lover or traveler who appreciates a hidden gem that prioritizes soul and connection over modern trends or flashy decor. I also appreciated the sense of belonging that the venue fosters because you can tell that it is a cherished gathering place for local residents who have been supporting live jazz for many years. Even though it is located outside the main tourist areas the positive energy and the incredible talent on display make the journey to the Bayview district completely worthwhile for an evening of great sounds. I will definitely be returning here soon to support the local artists and enjoy the legendary hospitality because the combination of the historic charm and the vibrant music is truly a highlight of the city.“

“Where do I start. The food is so flavorful, the staff is so friendly, they remembered me after only going one time. I love the atmosphere! It's just nice and cozy. All the food I tried is delicious, but I'm just obsessed with their pork sisig. And of course they have kareoke! Lots of song options.“
