“Excellent service and delicious food. Really loved the freshness of the crudo and the sandwich was very rich and perfect for sharing. Obviously great wine with a good selection of glasses and bottles available. Best to make a reservation because it's on the small side but definitely with a try.“
“Wonderful, cute wine bar in the Excelsior offering daily wine flights and select teas/coffee. They specialize in natural wine and every bottle I've tasted there was delicious and interesting. Prices are super reasonable, especially given SF and inflation. And, there's even a 15% discount for healthcare workers and educators! Service is down-to-earth, friendly, and attentive. They also offer a unique wine club membership which I appreciate has various degrees of commitment--even as low as twice a year--with nice perks like 10% off all in-house purchases and no corkage fee on bottles purchased and consumed on site. Truly, a gem in San Francisco!“
“Have loved this place since it opened and though we live in the south bay, whenever we're in SF, we can always rely on this place because the food is always very fresh and innovative, the service is relaxed and unobtrusive, and the convenience to get back home is a quick 5 minutes to the freeway home and we're back in Los Gatos in 50 minutes after a day in SF. We've tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.“
“A place on 24th St., the salvation to have a coffee, eat a good sandwich, have a beer and if you like everything Italian you will find it here! The guys are very friendly and the owner can't even speak of, I really liked it, I recommend it!“
“This is our second time going now. Service again was very good and super attentive. The wine selection is outstanding and honestly overwhelming. We just usually get the flights to be able to sample what they recommend. The flatbread pizza is very tasty with good crunch texture. Will go back again!“
“Nice small tapas place owned by a couple of guys from Madrid in the Mission. +++ great location +++ lots of tapas to pick from +++ fast friendly service +++ nice owners and wait staff ++++ convenient and easy street parking +++ Blue Cheese Croquetas was awesome. +++The tinned Mussells were delicious. +++ Very tasty burnt cheesecake +/- Chicken skewers - chicken was very tender but lackluster on flavor. - stuffed pepper with salt cod way too salty for me. I'd go back and already sent several friend to check it out...“
“We’re regulars from the time the restaurant was named Rasa and the name change has, if anything, made it better. The food, service and ambiance are all amazing. It remains our go-to restaurant for all special occasions and taking friends visiting from outside the Bay Area!!“
“A San Francisco gem. Unique take on square pan pizza; sauce & cheese were excellent, crust was ok, a bit too burned (we’ll try ordering light next time). Mushroom appetizer was delicious but the star of this place is the pizza. Great drinks; semifredo dessert is A++“
“Eating at Luisa's restaurant is like walking into a family kitchen and sitting down for an authentic home-cooked meal! We were just visiting the area after returning from a cruise and decided to try it. We enjoyed wine and appetizers of bruschetta, meatballs, Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio. Our main courses were Pappardelle with vodka sauce and Clams linguine with red sauce. We topped the evening off with a cannoli and limoncello and mascarpone cake with creamy lattes. Luisa was there watching that we got the best possible service. You owe to yourself to try this place at least once, but you'll probably return again and again.“
“What a hidden gem! Kind and helpful staff, great wine selection, and delicious bites. The Kashk Eh Bademjan is incredible, as is the sun dried pasta dish. We ordered 4 dishes total and we were stuffed! This local spot could use more folks stopping by. Give them a shot and enjoy a wonderful evening!Vegetarian options: Plenty of meat options too, but great vegetarian bites.“
“The Halfway Club is a welcome addition to the Excelsior. While we were bummed when Broken Record closed we are thrilled for the Halfway Club!Came in on a Friday night as a group of 4 for drinks. We were originally planning to get the $13 cocktails but couldn't refuse the $23 pitcher of hazy IPA.... And then took the recommendation of the Mezcal Paloma which was refreshing with great flavor.Service was amazing with great recs, perfect balance of checking in and letting us hang, and sharing offerings. Also, great music at a volume where you can talk but still enjoy. If you live in the Excelsior or are in the area (e.g. soccer games in Crocker Amazon) you need to drop by and support this place. Will be coming to Tuesday trivia and Wednesday movie night ASAP and getting food (which we hear is great!)“
“Great, relaxing spot for a glass of wine and conversation. The wine list has a nice range of familiar and unusual varietals. The proprietor listened to our preferences and offered several tastes for us to select a couple of glasses. Simple menu of cheese boards, etc. to help soak up the wine! We’ll be back to this nice spot in Moss Beach!“
“Held a group dinner for 14 here on a Friday. The process for booking, menu selection, etc., were all very professional and easy. Great menu options, flexible re food allergies, and the room was lovely - if too tight for the cocktail/ circulating hor d'oeuvres concept. People clustered in the 4 corners of the room and didn't have room to really mingle. Considering it was a relatively big group, the food was quite good (though duck was a bit tough & scallops were disappointingly small - not succulent).I would come again. Conundrum is that the minimum was high for our group, so I'd book again for a larger group, but the room would be really too tight for more than, say, 16 people.“
“My friend recommended I check this place out. What a wonderful experience. It is a very cozy homey space great wine, lasagna to die for, small bites and salad were excellent too and great company. Owners are super friendly and fun to chat with. Had to bring my husband there. He loved it as well. And a 20% discount happy hour is cherry on top.“
“I hadn't been back to Blue Plate in years, and am so glad I returned! It was as amazing as always - service, vibe, food. I had just returned from Brooklyn and was lamenting “why don't we have cozy, cool neighborhood restaurants like they have in San Francisco?” which is what prompted me to wander into Blue Plate again. Williamsburg and Greenpoint, eat your heart out!“
“Wonderful wine bar in a cute neighborhood. Great wines, great service, great food.Parking: Parking isn't bad, measured against San Francisco standards - street parking is usually available on West Portal Ave and in the adjacent neighborhood“
“I haven't been to Noeteca in a while and I just had the most reasonably priced and delicious lunch. The owner described the Feijoada (and with an egg option!) and I went with it. Yes, with the egg option. So good.Definitely wander off 24th Street and visit Noeteca.“
“Imagine driving through the city to a quiet neighborhood you've probably never been to just to have a cup of coffee with cannoli. Sounds a bit quirky, right?! But I guess it what makes it for a fun experience. Add a stroll across the block – and it could become a favorite weekday activity. We tried a Classic and Chocolate cannolis, both with pistachios. What can I say – it was good. The filling was rich and decadent, but not heavy which is a huge plus in my books. The shell was a bit hard to my liking, but it didn't stop me from finishing dessert ;)In the world of 'fancy' brunches, La Stazione is a good old friend you'd probably go to when you want to decompress from hustle and bustle of everyday life. Worth the drive and the calories.“
“Gratta Wines is a neighborhood and personal favorite. There is a lovely and inviting environment that is cultivated by the owners, staff and the community of regulars that come in. The wine is top notch, it's always on our list of gifts, as are the olive oil and vinegars they have bottled. The food is fantastic - chicken parm, meatballs and their French bread pizza are my go-tos. A very special place, so happy to have found it when we moved to the neighborhood!“
“Went here for my wife’s birthday with another couple. We all enjoyed our meals. My wife and I really liked how fresh and well cooked the pasta tasted. Dessert was also great. I don’t normally like tiramisu but I really liked this one. I thought the cannoli was great and my wife really liked the mousse. The waitress gave us desserts for free because it was a birthday.Service was slightly slower paced but that was actually great for something like a birthday dinner and gave us more time to talk. Would recommend.“
“We love Ivory and Vine. Hassan is an amazing host, tirelessly running around taking care of everyone! The food is really wonderful as well. The house red is fantastic, and the pour you get is plentiful!! And then, of course, the music is varied and great. Only complaint is it can be at times too loud, but then there are the outside seats (with heaters). A really fantastic place to spend an evening!!!“
“I have never tried Iranian food, so this was a gamble. Man, am I glad we did. Every dish was amazing. The smoked salmon, sour chicken, and herbed cheese were to die for. Truly, these were flavors I had never tasted and love them. Please try this place.“
“Great restaurant! Can't wait to go back! Took a vegetarian friend for her birthday and had a wonderful meal. we started with the Winter Chicory Salad and an order of the Petite Rye & Smetana Butter--the salad hit all the right notes with it's citrus-y dressing; the home-made rye bread was great (the smetana butter could have had a bit less salt...) Then we had the Crispy Zrazi--this wonderful potato/lentil dish stole the show! The Wild Mushroom Stroganoff was delicious (and so rich, I would suggest sharing...). Two baked rye doughnuts & caramel sauce were brought to the table with a birthday candle for dessert. Service was perfect--we enjoyed the entire experience. I can't wait to go back and try some of the non-vegetarian options--which i will have to have with the crispy zrazi. The brunch menu looks awesome, too.......“
“We love this place and it is our go to place to bring all of our friends. Their wine selection is outstanding and their food is superb....the specials are so delicious, especially their drunken noodles! Check them out, I promise they never disappoint.Dietary restrictions: They pay special attention to my wife's food allergies and are meticulous about making sure she is taking care of.“
“My friend and I stumbled upon Grape in the Fog at the end of an incredible California road trip. The ambiance is amazing, wonderful wine and delicious food. We shared the meatballs and the hummus plate and both were fabulous. We finished with the waffle with strawberries and vanilla whip cream and a trio of cheesecakes (lime, coconut and pineapple). I highly recommend stopping in to this cozy wine bar.“
