“I can't say enough good things about The Pony Room! I took my friend who was visiting from out of state for a special reunion dinner and the service, ambiance, and food made it an absolutely perfect evening. The service we received was unmatched by any dining experience I've had in as long as I can remember. Our waiter was incredibly insightful, kind, humorous, and truly an expert at service (and we can be tough critics!). I put in the reservation notes that it was a special occasion, and our amazing waiter gave us a wonderful desert to celebrate which I was not expecting whatsoever! Every detail of the entire evening was above and beyond. The dinner portions and quality of food blew us away! And there was live music even on a Wednesday evening. Truly a fabulous time. We sat outside and enjoyed the view and weather.
Breakfast was ok, it was tasty but more like diner food. The hash browns are like a brick.
I wish the Greek omelette had the feta on the inside and not just sprinkled on top“

It was our first time there, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Matt, the bar manager, who was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. He and the primary cook were not only friendly but also so fun to chat with.

The restaurant is really cute, creating a perfect atmosphere for enjoying a meal. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. We had such a great time, and we’ll definitely be back for another meal. I highly recommend it!“

“I’ve never heard of this place, but it had good review so I decided to check it out. I can say one thing the food mac & cheese is fantastic. The Dave’s hot chicken sandwich sandwiches and the chicken tenders are amazing. The real star of this place are the french fries not sure why but they are amazing. Just one thing you should know I always mobile order and it seems to take forever so if you go in there and order right off the street, expect kind of a longer weight than any fast food place.“

I am not big on scones, however, the nice young lady at the counter let me know they are made in house by the owner. No joke, had to be one of the BEST scones I’ve ever eaten. Wow! Ambiance is nice too. A must try cafe in San Marcos.“

“We have gone here a few times and the food was good although today it came to us some of it warm and hash browns cold maybe it sat too long waiting for servers. What I noticed the servers were talking and walking around without paying attention to the food nor asking customers. Maybe they were told not to bother customers?
The servers are always nice but they need to check on customers as a few customers had to get up and ask for things. Just a tip when dropping off the food please go back and ask customers if they need other things and keep checking on them.
The service is slow and takes away from the good food and nice servers.“

“We were in the mood for Vietnamese food and came across this spot online, it was my mom’s first time trying it. We mentioned this to the gentleman helping us and he gave some suggestions. We got a vermicelli noodle bowl and an order of pho. Our food came quick and the portions were generous, he even gave my mom a small bowl of pho broth to try on the side. We LOVED it! Very light but still super flavorful. My mom ate every bite—she was very happy with her meal! The man who helped us was very attentive and checked up on us frequently to make sure we were enjoying everything. At the end of our meal he gave us a Thai tea to try as well and it was also yummy!
He mentioned that this is a local, family owned business and these are the types of establishments we love to support.
The place is small but cozy and extremely clean. You can tell they take cleanliness seriously, which we appreciate.

“The top sections on the menu are 100% plant based, and the second half has meat options. It sounds like they used to be fully vegan, so it’s disappointing they added meat to the menu. I enjoyed the Munchwrap and the smash burger was pretty good. Next time I hope to try the flatbread—they currently have one plant based flatbread on the menu.“
