“Delicious lunch! We ordered multiple different items, honey walnut prawns, pork potstickers, Sang Gai Shee Chow Mein, vegetable shao bao, pork fried rice and of course the famous banana cream pie. The food was hot and fresh. The timing of service was perfect from appetizers to main courses and dessert. Servers were excellent and attentive. We really enjoyed our conversation with the manager, Ken as we were celebrating a birthday with a first time guest, his sharing the history of the restaurant and memorable guest who have visited really made the lunch memorable.“

The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and spacious. I have to add this too, their bathrooms are very clean! I really do love visiting this restaurant. They like certain things to be as fresh as possible for togos so they may not finish some of your Togo items until you get there… to avoid veggies and saucy things from getting soggy. So you might have to wait a bit for your pick up. But trust me, it’s much better this way… in terms of the quality of the food; don’t expect it to be like a quick in and out and you’ll be fine.

Here are our go tos: won ton soup (with or without noodles), chicken chow mein no veggies (kids), Peking pork chops, fish filet with string beans, seczhuan shrimp, baked sea bass (30 min prep), and maybe a salt and pepper dish.“

“They have great food my favorite beef and black bean chow fun, the peaking spare ribs and general chicken. It's hard to find beef black bean chow fun at other places. I have been going to highland Chinese for 13 years and the food is still good. I have tried many other places and I just can't find one that I like as much as highland Chinese. They had a great 'family style' meal that he and I shared. They offer 2 different combinations. My favorite items were the cashew chicken and the egg flower soup. “Blue Sky is one of our favorite Chinese food restaurants and has been ever since we moved into Carmichael in 2016. The owner there is extremely friendly and greeting with a huge smile and I feel hugged when I walk in. It helps to know that we order take out there at least once a month. Our favorites are honey walnut chicken and we ordered the sauce to the side because we have leftovers and we often times like to reheat the chicken. But it's hard to reheat the chicken the next day because the sauce makes the chicken soggy. They're happy to keep the sauce on the side. We also love their Deluxe string bean combo. I like to ask them to add extra green beans which they do. Everything we've ordered there is fantastic. They have the best Chinese mustard in town.“

I ordered the xiao long bao (soup dumplings), and they were outstanding - perfectly delicate wrappers filled with rich, flavorful broth and tender pork. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, and I couldn’t stop raving about them. I also tried one of their noodle dishes, and it was just as impressive: chewy noodles with a sauce that was savory, slightly sweet, and incredibly satisfying. The portions were generous, and the staff were friendly and quick to offer suggestions when I asked.
