“I had the Jasmine Apple Green Tea and I thought it was tasty. The diced apples was a refreshing experience. My husband got the summer melon drink and didn’t quite enjoy it but the store was accommodating and let him exchange it for something else.

“The Longan Lime Green Tea is what you want :) It’s not a common combination I see which is why I ordered it - was pleasantly surprised! It’s slightly sweet yet refreshing.

Quiet for a Friday evening around 6pm but don’t let that turn you away! Staff is friendly. Cash and card accepted both at the kiosk and the counter register. Limited seating inside and no bathroom.“

“We're so lucky to have so many great boba cafes here in San Francisco. And Black Sugar is one of them.

It's a small spot at the edge of the Tenderloin near Union Square. They have a few caffeine-free choices and I got their mango sago, which is a mango puree with grapefruit bits and coconut milk. Since it already had sago, I didn't add boba, which is good btw. Its has that qq bounce and is softly sweetened with brown sugar.

The mango was so refreshing! The coconut added a creamy texture and the grapefruit bits added a pop of tartness. The sago added another layer of texture that was both soft and chewy. I usually like to take my time with boba drinks, but this one was so good that I drank it pretty fast.

I usually order mine online for pick up. But service is pretty quick after ordering. Though I can imagine it's busier on weekends.

I've had several of their drinks, including their popular black sugar fresh milk, and they are all good. Definitely take a detour when you're in Union Square when the boba craving hits.“

I need to try the fruit tea still and will update this because I know Asha is known for its fruit tea. I love the location of this place and they are quick. “When I visited, the store had no seating and had closed their restrooms to customers, not sure if this is a usual thing. I ordered from an iPad, I liked that it had photos & an in-depth description of all the different tea options. My friend got the Oreo Matcha & I got the Lil’ Giraffe. It was pretty good, I was surprise they didn’t already come with the traditional boba ($0.75 additional charge). My friend’s was better, I didn’t taste much of the cake batter maybe due to my 75% sweetness instead of 100%? I wouldn’t recommend the Lil’ Giraffe, I’m sure there other options are better.“

“The froyo was a delicious treat. Their pistachio flavor is hand made and you can put toppings such as fresh fruit and jellies that would normally be in boba. My personal favorite flavor was the pineapple dole whip, just like Disneyland, with lychee jelly!

The store also has games and a bright atmosphere for kids. We had a great time here overall!“

“Tiny but mighty boba store ⭐️! I got the mung bean latte with agar boba and grass jelly on a hot day and enjoyed it! I came in around 6:40pm and they had run out of regular boba by then so I got the agar boba, which are the translucent balls that are a bit smaller and harder. I believe if you come on a Thursday, you can size up for free. Service was friendly! Many interesting drink options, food options, and even cool blankets/merch. I would definitely come back and recommend to friends!“

Delicious and a lot of food for the price in that area. I love this spot. Highly recommend. No pics but whether you get vegan or meat/vegetarian you’re eating good here. 4 stars on atmosphere because it is nice and warm but somewhat small and basic. Still recommend. 🫶🏼. i would say this place offers a really affordable prices for what you get as the glass was huge!! (L size)🥹🥹🫶🏼 i ordered the roasted milk tea + cool balls and it tasted so good! just the perfect amount of tea and milk🫶🏼

I was introduced to this place by friends who really like this boba spot too. It’s a small store inside but they process orders quickly and there’s 3 little screens to place your order on. “Nice spot with 2 of my favorites items - ramen & boba. The food was pretty good, and you get to choose the type of meat in your ramen. At the end they gave us mango sorbet, what a nice surprise.

“Real tea, real fruit, and fresh milk. Even the $2 boba milk tea specials are high quality. The mango for my mango sago was blended to order. Support this family owned shop, it's a total gem. The two neighboring businesses use powdered non-dairy milk substitute which is not healthy and not as good.“

I could have tried it then but I wanted my own full experience and to show support for this creation.

When you first enter you’re welcomed with smiles and a good vibe. I would suggest pre ordering as there has to be a line at times. You’re hit with a menu board and tons of options both sandwiches and drinks.
I chose the Bulgogi Bahn Mi, sandwhich was huge! The beef was so tender and hefty. Guaranteed to fill you up . The pickled veggies were fresh and well flavored. The bread! Soft but has a light crunch.
Washed it all down with a Mango Green Tea Bobba. Not too sweet and also tasted fresh.
